Does anyone know if Boeing has a recommendation on painting the wings? I've never seen them painted on a 727 and wonder whether it is advised against. Surely it can't be good for the moving flap surfaces, which may be more prone to binding?
Parham The winglets are the only thing I dislike about this particular plane. I know they aid in fuel efficiency, but they’re just so stupid looking IMO.
strange use of the flaps on this flight; took forever to retract after takeoff, then I'm going to guess not 30 degrees on landing. We always used the same flight profiles on configuration whether it weighed 102K or 197K speeds were different that's it
Winglets on a B-727 ??? Got to wonder WHEN this was??? The B-727 could land on a short strip,An old pal, who flew for TWA, said that when he was a Co-Pilot he flew with a Captain who made a landing into a pretty stiff wind and turned off the rynway in about 1,000 ft. of ground roll.
Stunning video, some of the best quality and sound capture!
Wow! A blast from the past! Beautiful landing and engine sound!
Great to see both sides of the plane during your landing. With an empty cabin you captured some wonderful audio from the engines!
This plane looks like its in great hands
Beautiful weather and flight
This was an old Northwest Airlines bird! Back in her day with NW, her reg was [N203US]!
Great sound and picture of a classic aircraft. Thanks
Beautiful all around.
Beautiful approach over the water
Wow! Now we now how it was in the past! Thanks for sharing! :)

well, in the over 10,000 hours I had flying the three holer I never saw a flaps 15 landing except in the box. Wonder what his Vref was
Mach 1?
Thanks for sharing this nice video.
Good looking cabin.
Is the winglet added to the wingtip by Boeing?

Too bad classic jetliners use more fuel; they look and sound much better than their modern counterparts.
Doesn't everything
Look at the size of those windows!
beautiful
Hello 727, how I have missed you so.
Why didnt they make the approach with full flaps?
Flap settings are dependent primarily upon the weight of the aircraft, and prevailing weather. In this case the 727 seems to be lightly laden.
mishko01 It was very lightly laden. There were only 2 passengers on board - me and my friend!
40° is never recommended.

Left inboard needs work.
Much safer jets better skilled pilots.
