My last flight on a 727-200 was in 1997 (Mexicana) from Mexico City to Ciudad del Carmen (Yucatan Peninsula). Being such an enthusiast I got invited to the cockpit. Started chatting with the crew and ended up living the best thing that could happen to anyone: They let me stay until engine cutoff. Landing in Ciudad del Carmen island was magic. Hearing and watching the trim go back and forth, doing a visual approach in a perfect day at noon, on a runway next to the ocean.. Best thing ever. I still remember it so vividly. I wish I had a video camera back then.. The best way to relive that is through a flight simulator and a commercial aircraft add-on like Captain Sim 727 or similar, which has the sounds so I can rev the engines as I please and bask in the sound. Check that her in RUclips.
I haven't flown in a 727 since the 70's. I used to always get a window seat behind the wing so I could watch those amazing flaps unfold. They were a beautiful plane to travel in; fast, smooth, great sounds. You really knew you were flying, in a nice way. They felt like like something special. Thanks for posting.
We will never see a plane like these nowadays :( such a beautiful design, complex wings and elegant but yet sexy looking lines, the cabin was just amazingly comfortable, the engines sounded like real aircraft engines, and the T tail desing was just sexy.. Very very beautiful and legendary plane!.
Great video, thank you! The 727 was the best airplane ever. Streamlined, sleek and sexy. I worked as a Chicago based FA for American Trans Air. Since we were able to bid schedules by aircraft type, I exclusively worked the 727 from 2000-2002 before they were retired, Good times.
Great video! I flew the 72 for over 7 years. I really enjoyed it. The best handling for gusty winds and strong crosswinds. The fastest Vne for any transport and high cruise mach despite being under powered by modern standards. It's a bit stiff legged so you had to work for a greaser but well worth it.
Love looking at the wings during take off's and landings. It's probably the only time they look like they're doing any thing. Even though the aerofoil design has changed over the years that wing layout has stayed the same on Boeing commercial aircraft. Inboard flap, high speed aileron outboard flap, spoiler/speed brakes in front of the outboard flap and low speed aileron. Thanks for posting this. There's not too many 727 left flying passenger routes these days.
6 years ago - good ol' RUclips and that trusted algorithm of theirs. I'm a bit late, but nothing like the sound of that beautiful P&W engine, still running strong as ever!
Watching this makes me miss flying in the 90s I flew on this bird when Kiwi International Airlines was around flew on them alot between EWR- MCO and back best times for air travel
I remember watching this exact same thing in an Alaska Airlines 727 coming in to land in Juneau AK in Sep. 1970 - with a backdrop of glaciers and mountains in the background. Exactly one year later to the day the same flight hit a mountain in heavy cloud cover. Nice landing here, perfect flare.
A buddy of mine's dad was supposed to be on that flight. He was a fisherman in Yakutat and he missed that flight by accident by getting to the airport too late.
i remember the last time i flew with this bird on the same route was about 5/6 years ago and im not really use that if it was heavy crosswind or the co-pilot was trying to land, but we had scary lineup and landing :) but it was gr8 i wont ever forget that trip xx
The princess of the skies .. actually 727 was one of the safest within the other aircrafts ... 727 type and Captain modarresi (z) two both are spending their retirement ...
out of all that I flew, the B7272A was the best....I would love to sit in the left seat again of one,, even one time and fly her....absolutely, hands down, a superb flying machine bar none
My favorite airplane, first time was United from CLE to Tuscon and back, the final time I flew was TWA from cleveland ohio to columbus ohio for only 70 round trip, comparing to Greyhound 75 RT for 2 hours and this 727 takes 30 minutes door to door, so WHICH one IS GOOD DEAL?????
Maybe they were using differential thrust to counteract wind forces, but i highly doubt that.. perhaps it has something to do with the age of the engines not giving the same thrust due to the same reason, or maybe its something up with the rudder, or maybe its because its design hehe. Have a nice day.
1 thing for sure Iran surely get their money's worth out of those tough American made air crafts just as how they keep their F14 tomcats in tip top shape, best way for an airline to save profits and keep afloat
This plane came from museum it’s not for use it’s only to show you the history of aircrafts. I will never ever use any Iranian airplane not only when ticket is for free but even when they pay me for. Just a scrap with no safety 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Now those are flaps
Yes, same here...the flap engineer ing was impressive to watch raise & lower
@@oldman2800 Flaps, slats, extensions, spoilers....

That sound of the JT-8s spooling down to idle before touchdown....most beautiful sound ever!
Hard to beat that particular sound, isn't it?
good landing, good airport, good sound, good video. BRILLIANT BEAUTIFL AIRCRAFT

Fast machine indeed. Always over takes us in the cruise.🤣
I really miss flying on these beautiful birds... so smooth, stable, and quiet inside... and the beautiful whine of the 3 JT-8D's...

very true!!!
The 737 does not have high speed ailerons.
This scene might as well had been from 40 years ago. This is like time travel. Wonderful!
João Branco it literally says “2010” in the description...
Greatest airliner ever!
Yeah, the 727 is my favorite... followed closely by the L-1011.
Amen!
Yeeeaaaaah sounds great 😎
congratulations, Flymajj! Very nice work!!! Like a professional, very beautiful landing! Best Regards! (I miss the B 727 200B!)
Loud reverse thrust. Loved it
the spectacular feeling after a long flight...when you finally land! yet miss the enjoyment of the plane.
Touched down lightly, very beautiful landing,!
God damn, I’m only 8, and the reverse is loud as hell.
do you know what it means to sit next to a JT8D, that priviledge doesn't come too often
Absolutely. I appreciate every second!
Last time when I was sitting next to JT8D was when I was a kid. :) 727-200 and DC9 are pretty old birds...
6 years ago - good ol' RUclips and that trusted algorithm of theirs. I'm a bit late, but nothing like the sound of that beautiful P&W engine, still running strong as ever!
This Video is so great. I love the Sound. Thanks for sharing this real classic B727 Experience...
Good video still watching in 2020.
Lovely view of Mirdif Dubai.
Watching this makes me miss flying in the 90s I flew on this bird when Kiwi International Airlines was around flew on them alot between EWR- MCO and back best times for air travel
Great footage, thanks. Just like the 737-100/200, the 727 was a workhorse, easy on the eye. Boeing in their heyday.
good old days when planes had no winglets
I agree, I know they help fuel efficiency but they are ugly. they spoil the lines of an aircraft.
@reverse thrust agree
Amtran727 not really... I mean that’s very subjective
@Stampylonghead the II Yes. But actually no.
Nice complex wing, nice sound. Thank you!

Great smooth landing, only the best can land a beast like this.👍
AWESOME PLANE AWESOME VIDEO!

We don't have brake pads, but we have oil and runway. :D
SUPERB VIDEO!!!!!
Very nice airplane...

Long landing! But they do have a lot of runway to play with in Dubai.
Just wondering how did you manage to keep your camera steady during touchdown :D nice vid anyway.. thanks for sharing
@5:25
GOTTA LOVE THE PRATT AND WHITNEY JT8D'S 😙
OK. Sorry for yelling. Now I need a cigarette, excuse me.....
Excellent!
When terminal 3 was under construction feels like I'm watching video from 1990s
Seems like ancient 727's need constant left roll to stay level. Wonder what's up with that? Coincidence?
Nice Landing
I not see you face kaptan nice Day
nice one..........
very old video .Dubai terminal still under construction.
nice b727 iran aseman airlines

5:27 - "Did you say stop? Do you really want me to STOP?? 'Cause I'll bet this baby stops on a f___ng DIME!"
-Kurt Russell
MrDunkiemon: Chill! It's a line from a Kurt Russell movie, and a compliment of the 727's excellent stopping ability.
+Zickcermacity
I know. I was kidding. Thanks for the cool response. YOU ARE DA MAN!
+MrDunkiemon Didn't sound like you were kidding - I needed to
explain my comment!
Long landing
i liked cool :)
Wings look like a paper
3 and 1 stored
the flaps look like 747 flaps...
