A seasonal start for Tangmere with the Northern Belle 24/02/22

SR Battle of Britain class Locomotive 34067 Tangmere had her maiden run out with the Northern Belle Luxury Dining Train today which originated out of Leeds with Tangmere taking over from diesel traction at Carnforth and running over Shap to Carlisle and along the Settle Carlisle line to Hellifield then on to Preston via Blackburn where diesel traction would take the tour back to Leeds, we first see 34067 with 57314 on the rear climbing from Scout Green to Shap Wells in sunshine and notice the optical illusion where the driving wheels don't appear to be turning then on the return climbing to Aisgill Summit in less than favourable weather, nice to chat with Alan Ian David and Shep today, thanks for watching.

Great coverage Nige I bet you were freezing on Shap and Ais Gil I only could get as far as Hellifield in time and caught it with the skin of my teeth! Hellifield was bitter and it wasnt Boddys! with horizontal sleet and hailstone.Well done mate yet again and thanks for sharing. Brian

"Great" and "bother" in that order - great photography from the "Panmeister" again, and "bother" I missed it as a perambulated by the WCML in Penrith this morning - all I saw was a down Pendo! I really must pay closer attention to the schedules! (I was on a "domestic mission", which, at least (thankfully) I completed successfully!)
Looking forward for another classic season of steam action in our neck of the woods ...
