Please Opel do not screw up the design of the Manta e. The Opel CEO is standing right beside the car we all want!! Just put that design into production. That's the emotion there beside the CEO in yellow and black! You will not get anywhere near the sales with a refreshed SUV type Manta e instead of the original.
I agree, if the elektromod was put into production it would be the best looking car opel has made since the manta b. But nobody wants a stupid manta suv, a manta is a sporty, good looking coupe! Not an ugly suv.
I agree this Manta is the most exciting electric car I've seen. Its fresh and hits that nostalgia mark just so.

You want people to go electric give them a cool car. This Manta would print money if they put it into production.
It doesn't need a rapid 0-60 time. Make it real world quick, rear wheel drive and zippy and you'd have an instant classic that will have petrol heads throwing money at you...
Or you could build another soul less SUV named after a classic sports car and get lost in the white noise of the electric car SUV market.

Its the issue with electric, with heavy as fuck batteries its never going to be light and have any kind of sensible range and preformance, so they have to go suv. EV simply means the death of proper lightweight sports cars.
@@Chewie260 the batteries are so heavy because you need a lot of them to fuel the 200 hp motor that is in turn necessary in order to deal with the ridiculously high drag of SUVs. Cut the motor size in half, create a flat, aerodynamic body like Opel GT and you will drive 200 miles with a speed of 150 mph. Lightyear Zero just proved it. I think it was "Fully Charged" where you can see how long that car stays at a high speed although the driver just let it roll. More battery does not mean more range. Solar panels on top of the car do. And it would fit so well as Manta GSE's bonnet is already black.

Lieber Herr Lohscheller, ich wäre jetzt mal so frei um zu behaupten, dass ich hier die Meinung der Mehrheit aller Opelfans vertrete: Wir fanden den Opel Manta E Elektromod so toll, weil es ein zweisitziges Coupe ist. das mag zwar nicht sinnvoll klingen, jedoch ist es das, was Opel gerade fehlt: Ein Auto mit den eben beschriebenen Eigenschaften, der stark dem Manta ähnelt. So ein Auto wie auf dem Beispiel- / Konzeptfoto würde ich nicht den Titel Manta geben, da würde man alte Opelfans nur vergraulen.
Ich denke die meisten Leute haben sowieso kein Interesse an einem Elektro Auto aber, dass es dann noch ein Elektro SUV ist ist einfach lächerlich
@@b-m4905 Ich habe irgendwie das Gefühl das die in den oberen Reihen bei Opel seit einigen Jahren einfach immer das Gegenteil machen was die Opel treuen Fans sich wünschen. Und mit dem Leitfaden so wie in dem Video beschrieben vergrault man auch noch den Großteil der Leute die der Marke die Treue halten 🤦♂️😤
Das ist ja bei Ford (mustang, puma) auch schon so gekommen, und während ich das ein oder andere Auto noch mag, das sie verkaufen, habe ich einfach eine Abneigung gegen solche idenditäts-"auslöscher". Ford ist seitdem aus meinen möglichen zukünftigen (wie auch Mitsubishi mit dem eclipse) ausgeschieden. Hoffe, dass es sich opel mochmal überlegt, denn nur weil es einige machen, muss es nicht unbedingt erfolgreich werden. In besten Fall verliert die Marke dabei nur an Ansehen, das sie über die letzten Jahre hinweg wieder aufbauen musste, wenn mehr Leute wie ich denken, auch den Absatz.

Just make it how it looks now, slightly bigger to put all the safety technology in it but for goodness sake do not make it an SUV or crossover thing. And do not overmodernise it. The Manta Mod car you have in this video is what it should look like.

Please put the restomod into production! It would be awesome to see it on the streets, and I believe that this is what Opel's heritage relates to a lot.

Where is the logic? The peoples love the electro mod means the yellow/black old manta with electric Motor. But Opel thinks they have to redesign it. I think this will be a flop like the VW Beetle and other redesigned legends.
The logic is that the manager who holds the wallet... Carlos Tavares... does not believe in the Manta Coupe and thus the door is closed for Opel to manufacture it, this model shown here, on the other hand, Carlos Tavares... believes in, it is he who decides, not... Opel...

Offensichtlich haben die Herren Lohscheller und Tavares die Kommentare unter dem elektromod Video nicht gelesen. Den legendären Namen Manta für ein Standard Elektro SUV zweckentfremdet einzusetzen ist wieder nichts, das Opel zu etwas Einzigartigem, Besonderen machen könnte. Aber klar, wenn man sich den tollen neuen "Mustang" von Ford ansieht...
Elektro finde ich okay, allerdings würde ich die Strategie verschiedene Antriebskonzepte in einer Plattform beibehalten. Wer nur auf ein Pferd setzt ist schnell weg vom Fenster.

Manta E....it's just ugly. Start with the Manta GSe restomod and you will have a hit and forget about that weird SUV/Crossover.....thing.
I get a production version of the elektromod will probably not pass modern safety standards, but at least try to create a coupe, the more it looks like the elektromod the better. Another generic SUV may be called the manta, but it won't be one. If people want an SUV, they get the Mokka-E.

Rebuild the Manta A you're standing beside or a Manta B. Please do not build an SUV for an over saturated SUV market that nobody wants. A Manta is a sports or as you said, a rally car. Not an ugly people carrier built with a high center of gravity.

Ja ich muss sagen ich fand die letzte GT Studie schon mega geil, das Teil wäre auch noch auf meiner To-Bau (statt To-Do😂) Liste gelandet, wenn ich ein Auto Hersteller wäre, denn es wäre auch wieder ein reines "Emotionsauto" gewesen

Einen Manta würde ich kaufen, wenn er dem Manta GSe ähnlich sähe. Änderungen wegen Seitenaufprallschutz und Fußgängerschutz sind ok, aber auf ein Tiefenseemonster Manta schreiben? Geht garnicht.

Ich bin mit Opel aufgewachsen, einer der größten Fans dieser Marke. Kadett, Calibra und Opc. Ich war dabei Itc Titel, DTM Titel, 24h Titel und 2018 Tcr Germany Titel...Bei diesem Artikel blutet mein Opelherz. Ich wohne im Erzgebirge, was soll ich hier mit Elektro, wird Opel 2028 rein elektrisch dann sag ich Opel nach 42 Jahren Adè🙋🏼😭🙋🏼

Da meine Eltern beruflich viel reisten Ende der 70er, und mich oft mitnahmen, habe ich bereits als Kind viele Kilometer im Auto zurückgelegt. In was für einem? In einem kardinalroten Manta E. Und ich fühlte mich dort sauwohl!
Danke vielmals, Herr Lohscheller!!! Auf so eine Nachricht habe ich dreißig Jahre gewartet! Damals musste ich mich aus finanziellen Gründen von meinem letzten manta trennen (Studium). Das ist jetzt wie Weihnachten, Ostern und Geburtstag zusammen, um es mal frei heraus zu sagen.
Wenn es Mitte der Dekade ist, zahle ich den Manta in Bar. Evtl. werde ich gleich zwei nehmen, für meine Frau auch einen! Aber Bitte: Kein SUFF aus dem Manta machen! Oder wie ich es nenne: CAP (Cannot Anything Properly). Lassen Sie den Manta ein Sport-Coupe bleiben, so vielleicht mit rekordverdächtig guter Aerodynamik und dementsprechend guter Effizienz und Reichweite, und zu Preisen, die man von Opel seit jeher gewohnt ist.
Danke nochmals, ein Traum ginge für mich in Erfüllung! Wenn auch erst 2025. Doch bis dahin fahre ich Diesel. Welches Auto würden Sie bis 2025 empfehlen? Den neuen Astra? Oder besser einen Corsa? Wie gesagt, einen SUFF will ich nicht haben, zu unsinnig!

Going full electric is a bald move and many will be disappointed. Majority of your fans come from motorsports, like Manta/Ascona 400, 96' ITC champion Calibra,etc.If only you knew your fans you would never make a manta crossover. Stay with the sports coupe like everyone tells you and make it RWD and fun to drive.

So früh auf nur elektrische Autos zu bauen halte ich für einen Fehler und vergrault so die Kunden die keinen Elektro sondern Ottomotor haben möchten. Und dann noch das Thema hybrid. Gibt es dann auch nicht mehr. Und ich bezweifle stark dass bis dahin die Reichweiten so viel weiter reichen wie heute.
Stellantis nutzt Opel wohl als Versuchskaninchen. Wenn die reine Elektrostrategie ab 2028 schief geht wird Opel als Markenname eben aufgegeben, falls nicht werden die E-Autos verkauft. So kann man für die anderen Konzernmarken testen ob die Kundschaft 2028 schon komplett auf Verbrenner verzichten kann.

Das positive Feedback der letzten Zeit bezog sich auf den Manta GSE elektromod und wenn Leute schrieben: Bringt den Manta zurück.,dann einen der dem Manta A nahe kommt bzw. dieser automobilen Ikone mit Respekt nahe kommt.Die Leute wollen einfach ein erschwingliches,elegantes Volkscoupe und keinen futuristischen SUV Coupe Verschnitt.Richtig oder gar nicht.
Wenn am Ende irgendein beliebiges SUV rauskommt muss man sich bei Opel die Frage gefallen lassen,wie man aus dem Opel GT der 2000er nichts hat lernen können,warum man wieder den Namen einer Ikone genommen hat,um ihn dann zu besudeln,indem dieser als bloßer Marketinggag herhalten muss.Und warum die Marktforschung so weit entfernt von den Wünschen der Fans und der Automobilisten arbeiten und diese völlig ignorieren kann.
Dass er vollelektrisch wird,von mir aus,könnte ja endlich mal ein emotionales Elektroauto werden ( obwohl es etwas plötzlich kommt,von "Wir werden dem Kunden die Wahl lassen und kein Ausstiegsdatum nennen" zu "2028 vollelektrisch".
Laut der WELT gibt es noch keinen designfreeze und auf dem Bild steht ja dass das nicht für die Serie gelten soll,also bitte bitte bitte.

Wenn es euch doch wirklich um die Umwelt geht, warum baut ihr dann einen SUV? SUVs brauchen sehr viel mehr Energie und größere Batterien, sind daher deutlich weniger umweltfreundlich als ein kleineres und leichteres Auto. Wo bleibt da die Logik? 🤷♂️
Den Retro Manta hätte ich mir zu 100% gekauft obwohl ich zu Zeiten des Mantas noch nicht auf der Welt war aber diesen Futuristischen look möchte keiner. Aber schade, der Retro Manta wäre in die Geschichte eingegangen. Bin sehr enttäuscht

You forget that the "emotions" for the Manta were at a low point and thx to certain movies Manta owners were pretty much ridiculed across the landscape. If you bring the name back, it better be truly looking like the rendering you showed. I have another suggestion for you, how about an E-Kadett
I’m sure there are some people that will dig a crossover “Manta” but I’m still hoping Opel is going to find it’s way back to the States and the restromod is what will be hot here. That beautiful yellow Manta next to you and a production version of the GT concept. Make that electric too.

I'm a massive petrol head and have said I will probably have to be dragged kicking and screaming into electric car ownership...
Then I saw the Opel Manta GSe and instantly became besotted. I would happily buy one of those in a heart beat. I've shown everyone who will listen, it's frankly the most exciting electric car I've seen in ages, and that includes an Rimac or hypercar.

@@erneuerung9168 Einspruch. Technologieoffenheit bedeutet, eine möglichst breite Palette an Antriebsarten im Portfolio zu haben, um somit die allermeisten Kunden erreichen zu können. Mit "nur Elektro" wird das aber nix.
Es wird nicht nur die E-Variante bleiben….
Wasserstoff wird weiterhin groß verfolgt.
@@Luftlimit Technologieoffenheit ist zukünftig begrenzt, weil CO2 reduziert werden muss. Verbrennen von synthetischen Kraftstoff oder Wasserstoff mit Brennstoffzelle wird viel teurer als Strom.
Den Manta bitte genau so, wie er da steht.
Mit dem Retro-Manta hätten Sie viele Kunden gewinnen können... Ich hatte gehofft und mich darauf gefreut, dieses coole Fahrzeug auf der Straße zu sehen und fahren zu können, aber es scheint sich zu bewahrheiten, daß Opel nicht den Mut hat, diesen Schritt zu wagen... :-(
WHERE IS MY OPEL MANTA ?? !! ... I have no problem with Opel making SUV etc. By all means keep it electric. But don't mess with the Manta name and unforgettable shape. We are talking about one of the top 3 prettiest production cars of all time and we want her back. That external image is irreplaceable. Opel is fortunate to have such a beauty in their legacy. Not every auto maker does. The underbody can be re-engineered for rear wheel electric motor and drive with a frunk space up front. But the outward lines and dimensions should be preserved - just like with the Electromod. There is not a single car in production today that looks as good as that. And mark my words, if Opel don't do this right, the Chinese will.

Die Kommentare mal zusammengefasst: Der Manta GSe ELEKTROMOD hat Emotionen wiedererweckt und einen wahren Begeisterungssturm ausgelöst. Einem wahren Haben-will-Effekt ausgelöst, nicht nur bei den eingefleischten Fans.
Das Designmodell hingegen wird nur als eines wahrgenommen: als Design diarrhoe, die lieber in der Schublade bleiben sollte.
Die endgültige Produktionsversion des Manta soll Mitte des Jahrzehnts erscheinen. Daher sind die Abbildungen nicht repräsentativ für die Produktionsabsicht. Bitte haben Sie Verständnis dafür, dass es noch zu früh ist, die Details unserer Pläne bekannt zu geben. Nur so viel: Der Manta ist und wird eine echte Ikone unserer Marke sein. Wegen dem Namen? Auf dem Ding könnte auch Tiguan stehen, ein Manta ist das jedenfalls nicht. Naja wie gut das es um das Klima geht und nicht etwa darum ein Haufen Kohle zu verdienen.

Zählen da auch Hybride dazu oder heisst das, dass es ab 2028 ausschliesslich Opels mit rein batterieelektrischem Antrieb geben wird.

Kann mich hier nur den Vorrednern anschließen. Der Manta GSe Elektromod ist ein "must have". Das grüne Irgendwas wäre für mich keine Option. Schade, aber leider wie so häufig, tolle Konzepte kommen einfach nicht bis zur Produktion.

Schade, dass Opel in den 90er den Mut und den Geschmack verlohren hat und nur noch langweilige Autos baut. Der gse wäre eine Chance gewesen, die jungen wieder für die Marke zu begeistern, aber für diesen Manta e werde ich keinen Pfennig ausgeben.

I still dont get it, why any car brand advertise them selves as "going full electric by 20**something", while literally not a single person wants electric cars to begin with :D We want reliable, really long lasting cars with a well established service background and knowledge, based on well known ,refined , cheap and reliable technology, with literally the least amount of electronics to go bad and cause problems /in atleast the first 15 years of lifetime/.. Also, no more SUV-s...

Please look at the sentiment of the Elektromod video, then look at how people feel about this crossover, and then try again (please). Not sure why the decision was to scrap everything from the coupe concept and go a completely different route with a crossover. The concept coupe looked fun, stylish and had a ton of Opel character while this crossover looks like something that will lose to competitors in every category imaginable and flop hard. Opel is not Ford and the Manta is not the Mustang.
The final production version of Manta is due mid-decade. The current illustation is not representative of production intent. Please understand that it is too early to announce the details of our plans. Just this much: The Manta is and will be a real icon of our brand. So stay tuned for more.

My interpretation is that Manta will be a Vectra GTS "Cross" for purely financial... reasons... Opel will not receive financial support...! to manufacture anything... else...! so the choice is between it, or nothing... - personally I love the Vectra GTS OPC most of all Opel and would love to see a new in the same style, But to call it "Manta" feels Strange, it will need a design that is the most magnificent ever made to make it work smoothly - congratulations to the task..!

Das andere grüne, hässliche SUV Ding als Mantanachfolger ist komplett verschissen! Der Designer gehört bei Wasser und Brot eingesperrt, bis er wieder vernünftige Opel Manta zeichnen kann. Diese SUV Einheitsbrei ist eine Seuche!

Yippii, sieht so aus, als ob Opel genau den gleichen Fehler macht wie Ford mit dem E-Mustang. Warum glauben diese Konzernlenker eigentlich, daß es nur noch Menschen da draußen gibt, die SUV fahren wollen ?? Does this Green Manta excites me? Not @ all!
Daß der Manta nicht 1:1 so kommen kann wie in der Elektromod Studie ist schon klar, wegen Zulassungsvorschriften, Crashsicherheit und so.. Aber dat grüne Dingen könnt ihr behalten. Achja, Designer wegen erwiesener Unfähigkeit bitte dem Arbeitsmarkt zur Verfügung stellen.
Die endgültige Produktionsversion des Manta soll Mitte des Jahrzehnts erscheinen. Daher sind die Abbildungen nicht repräsentativ für die Produktionsabsicht.
