Its as close to the feeling of someone trying to kill you as you can get to without them actually trying to kill you (though I’m sure some guys have tried.), and it’s one of the most dangerous men on the planet trying to do it!
Huge respect for this guy. Not only is he one of the greatest LW’s of all time imo, he’s always so candid in his interviews and seems like really cool cat, and, more importantly, a good dude.
Thank you for everything, Dustin! The fans love you and we are grateful for all the work you put in for our entertainment!
I like Dustin because he appears honest. You gotta fight fire with fire D.P. he said I just bit down and was like wtf am I doing. I feel like Chandler was concussed ever since the headbutt
Same, I think Chandler got rocked and wasn't thinking straight after that.
Have to appreciate the real guys like Dustin... Heart of a warrior with a hell of awork ethic. Just a really respectful honest dude. Nothing FAKE about him. We need more guys like that in this world. True living Legend
They need to replace that dog lungs meme with Dustin's lungs and a picture of Dustin inside his lungs.
And Joe Rogan is the best because he's the only one that noticed how bad that headbutt was
Chandler almost had him
Dude deserves that title.
Never used to like Dustin for whatever reason but this guy has put in the work. War after war.
Im not a huge MMA fan at all, I'm a passive watcher, however I think Ariel is such a fantastic interviewer and Poirer sounds like such an honest guy ... I came here after hearing Dana and Paddy talk bad about Ariel .... but from just watching this video I think Ariel is super thoughtful
An amazing character Dustin. The more I hear him speak the more I like him. He seems extremely real and self aware. A hell of a fighter. I sure hope he becomes champion.
I pray this guy can somehow become champion 😊
If makhachev still around, its impossible
@@SefJo-kc3hx yeah it’s a tough one lol
@@SefJo-kc3hx nothing is impossible in mma
How many ads do you need in 1 interview?
Dustin is one of the realest people/fighters out there. He is very down to earth and keeps it real. I love and appreciate that about him
Dustin hangs out w Mike Tyson once an starts biting people smh
Gotta respect the man he is a true honourable warrior. Not many in this sport are always willing to fight fire with fire
Dustin is a real one. Love that he calls Chandler corny lol. Always spitting FACTS.
@Stuts Chandlers a corny ass whiteboy who loses all his big fights. Dustin only loses championship fights really.
DP’s ability to defend and block is amazing. He’s consistently improved and the man is a proven pure fighter.
I mean the Diamond is such a great fighter but he is just a better human. Love this guy.
Dustin is such a great fighter and a great guy. His progression throughout his career has really been awesome thing to watch.
Real raw dog fight, perhaps the best on the card, as expected. Dustin's such a modest guy, he doesn't at all think he's a big deal, but he definitely is.
Its hard to have guys admit to getting rocked, or hurt too bad, major props to him for not downplaying the fight
People dont realize DP started from the bottom...he never wrestled or anything combat or super athletic when he was young just a street fighter n learned/gain experience & skill since day one in mma...hate him or love him you have to respect his journey/rise thru it all! UFC HOFER fursure! He's the closest fighter to anyone of us average joes.Joe's.. a true legend!!
Good interview right there Ariel thank you, still the best... greetings from Quebec✌️
i thought the same thing Dustin really was not getting hit clean it showed he didn't get dropped from punches.
kinda funny cuz Dustin's punches seem to hurt chandler pretty bad.
Dustin has a better chin for sure. Still positive Chandler hits harder.
@@Rinkachichirikumei without a doubt he does. The thing with Dustin is he's not pure power. It's a mixture of accuracy, technique, timing along with his physical prowess. Chandler is a front runner, in the first round he's at his most powerful.
@@Rinkachichirikumei I'm not sure Chandler hits harder than Dustin. The big reason Chandler ko'd Dan was because he had a war with Dustin first. Dustin dropped Oliveira 3 times, finished Gaethje and Eddie while Chandler couldn't finish Gaethje, dropped Oliveira once, and went 9 rounds against Eddie...
I met Dustin in Houston this year. Great dude with the public.
He doesn't need to be a champion to be one of the all-time greats.
DP has turned into my favorite fighter, what a real one.
In terms of what’s next for Dustin:
He has been awesome at 155...I would love to see him at 170. He has mentioned it before especially in reference to his age.
dustin vs. burns. i like it.
Love Dustin so much for his honesty. My favorite fighter
Dustin never ceases to surprise me, Dude is a savage.
Most definitely....
Most underappreciated fighter for sure
@@samgibson684 How is he underappreciated? Everyone loves the guy, always brings it, in the UFC for a decade now and in the top of the division the entire time... if you want really underappreciated its probably Stipe Miocic
I love how honest he is
Hope he gets one more chance at the title. Always a pleasure to watch him fight.
He stands no chance against Islam. There is no way he gets that title, sorry.
@@ejay4032 I don’t think he gets it but it might be inevitable that he fights for it. however I would like to see porier vs fiziev I feel like that would be a crazy fight
@@ejay4032 most likely yeah 😭
Ain't happening unfortunately. Legend regardless
bum can't get gold
Dustin is like a real life Rocky. He's not perfect, he had some tough losses but man, he always comes back even better.
I think the legacy that Dustin Poirier has created is already much bigger than lot of champions. Even if he doesn't become Champion, UFC should give him the Hall of Fame. I mean look at the freaking list of W man... Connor, Gaethje, Holloway, Eddie Alvarez, Pettis, Jim Miller, Johnson, Dan Hooker. Some would say this is the best CV in LW division.
True statement!
He fought murderer row ..
No one in UFC history had this kind of run.
@@guybenmicha2902 ya, i think he already is the best UFC fighter who hasn't become an undisputed champion. In some different era he could've easily been a champion. He's much better fighter than some of the previous LW champions like Eddie Alvarez, RDA, Benson Henderson, Anthony Pettis and I'd say better than Connor.
I left my fingerprints and bounced out as soon as I could LOOL. DUSTIN YOURE A REAL G, Love from Canada
Naw he said he wiped them, so he didn't leave any finger prints behind
His daughter probably had an overwhelming feeling that lead her to say that her dad was gonna lose, intuition is a real thing in kids
11:40 talks about fish hook bite
One of my fav fighters. Boy deserves a huge main event ppv fight soon.
💎 is the best in the UFC right now. Awesome human being.
No one can recall a fight better than the Dimond..
Pretty good chandler impression 😂
Dang he took the thought out of my head, Man Dustin Poirier is a Straight up Fighters Fighter!
So much respect for Dustin. He's a badass. No doubt about it.
Dustin pauses before answering questions, he is an intelligent guy, I also love how he is self aware enough to admit he doesn't outskill guys, he out-uncomfortables them.
I’ve always been on that Mike Chandler a fake ass guy attitude and I’m glad Dustin was able to call him out and finish him for it
Dustin is the real “fake ass guy attitude”… where’s your brain? Really don’t understand how you people do not see this by now….
Takes one to know one.
@@MRios1128 no it doesn’t lmaooo
I believed he was a nice guy but damn this fight show his true colors, fish hooking, blowing his nose, the hits on the back of the head..
Thats a nasty cheater, NOT a good guy at all...
@@MRios1128 takes a fake person to know a fake person? You couldn’t be anymore wrong
That fight could be a Main Event on most cards. What a Fight!
Damn!! Poirier looks like he wasn't even just in a bloody asz fist fight🤣🤣
“Outuncomfortable these guys”. Dude. What a diamond of a man.
From new Orleans area Louisiana and I Love this guy!💪
Hearing Dustin speak about trying to get a fight for 10 months and no luck....then listen to Dana White's comment he needs to offer the fighter 3 fights a year...something doesn't add up
It's almost like Dana is a habitual liar lol.
@@MatadorTheGreat or dustin
It was dope when Dustin said how strong Chandler was to lift him from that position. Definitely adds to the legend that is Mike Chandler.
Ben Henderson and Josh Thompson said Chandler is fake and isn’t as nice as people think ..maybe there some truth to that 🤷♂️
Poirier's fights are always action packed, technical and entertaining as all hell that's why they're a big deal to me.
I want to see Dustin as a villain instead of a nice guy, which would suit well because of his fighting style, but not happening, unfortunately... Anyway, gotta appreciate all the exciting fireworks of fights throughout the years.
Imagine if he turned heel. I could see him being real nasty if he fought Colby. He really doesn’t like him.
@@REDANDSILVER741 heel lol you know this real fighting a sport.not wrestling. If you want acting go watch wwe smh
Well wasn't he the one that started the beef between him and Chandler
@@REDANDSILVER741 The moments Dustin has beaten someone and then made some statements are his best moments behind the scenes and on the mic, even when building up fights like this one against Chandler. Weird how he trains with Masvidal and has 10X times the resume and yet Masvidal acts like the badass one, which Dustin is more of...
I like him as a good guy
I'm glad someone in the UFC calls out Chandler's fake Facebook persona. Poirier is a real one.
Dustin such a good dude
DP is the most thoughtful even keeled fighter on the roster. You're the man Dustin!
Class act DP 🔥🙏🏻🥋🙏🏻
“I don’t wanna get even, I wanna get ahead”
