You must have forgotten who's been champ at middleweight... The last two guys before Adesanya were Robert Whitaker and GSP. You don't think they are humble guys? lol. The only champs that were constantly talking about their greatness were Adesanya and Rockhold (and even Rockhold didn't say that often) Also, Adesanya speaks in that regard to be inspirational, because it's where he needs his mind to be in order to be at his best. So.. the only champ that was a real arrogant person was Luke Rockhold. Even Bisping was less arrogant and more just had a chip on his shoulder. But I'd accept Bisping AND Rockhold as a real answer.
I don't know who you're honestly talking about. lol.
But I do agree with you, Alex has a very chill and straightforward vibe about him. I don't think poorly of Izzy though. Why would I? he's a good guy too, just louder. You think Alex doesn't imagine himself as being great? You have to be when you do a career like this.

McGregor, adrsanya, bones, usman, most champs that get more than two defenses tend to have their heads float up in the clouds….at this point, with all the narcissism in the world right now, I find a down to earth champ a much better representative of martial arts, instead of marketing. @@stevedv629 I agree with you about Alex. I think you're exaggerating how many fighters, and more specifically champs, have legit narcissism. That's a very strong word. Jones, McGreggor... for sure I agree with you (but I wasn't aware you were talking outside the 185 division at first). I still think that you're greatly inflating your idea of two things:
      1. That so many fighters are like this.
      2. That it is SO bad that we should label it narcissism.
You have to at least understand that these guys/gals HAVE to be full of themselves. Even Alex Pereira is. And so when you have them all speaking about how they feel, literally being asked by the media questions like, "How do you do this? Are you going to win? How will you win?" etc... You're going to get quite a few of them to answer along the lines of "Because I train harder. Because I'm better, I'm the best. I know what I can do, he/she can't handle me." etc..
All I'm saying is, I get where you're coming from for Alex. It is always nice to see a calm fighter/champ. But there's also nothing wrong with a fighter/champ that is openly admitting what is going on in EVEN Alex's head too! They all have to envision themselves as the best, unbeatable, have all the answers... etc.
So on one end, you can criticize Pereira for kind of lying, to be fair. Because he's not honestly answering the questions. You can also admire him for deciding to leave that part of his thinking out. Neither type of person is a better person. And as far as legit narcissists and sociopaths in the UFC... few and far between, and I actually hate them a lot too. But don't let the Jon Jones and Conor McGreggors ruin your perception of all the rest that are just on a path of striving to be great at what they do!😊

cold. All he needs is one punch or knee or kick to land. He has eaten head kicks from killers and kept coming to knock them out. He ain’t scared of getting taken down and dry humped and submitted. He always comes to fight

    • @Mr.Hopoutwit2chops
      @Mr.Hopoutwit2chops Год назад +22

Alex has zero grappling skills, we all saw that in his last fight. Khamzat is a world class wrestler who can take hits we saw that with the Gilbert burns fight, all it takes is one takedown for Khamzat and your boy won’t be able to get back up, he will get submitted and he knows that, and that is why he is making specific request to move up in weight where he is more comfortable and Khamzat is less comfortable, I’ve wrestled all my youth and a 5 pound difference is a lot let alone 20 pounds. I doubt Alex wants to lose his title that soon especially in his home country Brazil so he’ll duck that fight until his grappling is better which is fine.

Out of all combat styles wrestling is the easiest thing to grasp, I just hope yalls "world class" wrestlers dont catch a big ass Brazilian knee trying to fight like a girl, These fighters better get there stand up game up to par playing with alex.. that's all I know.

@@AfroViking300 I have been practicing mma for 2 years now and wrestling is not easy. What u mean easy? The technique might be easy to learn but to execute and the strength required to maintain the position is challenging. You can get good over the time but it's really hard to get in the same level as someone who has done it for so long. The problem Alex faces is that his ground game won't catch up with the likes of kamzat who is a chain wrestler. Also talking about Alex striking, as elite as he is once someone threatens you with a take down it's hard for a striker to get on his rhythm or even maintain a rhythm. Burns had a really good ground game which made khamzat to get the fight standing but Alex doesn't have that and won't have that.

It removes clouds from vision and gives clarity with assessing things and having a well grounded perspective, which allows u to approach things on a very clear and well rounded view point. Being able to handle the direction anything goes.
Izzy still deserves his rank. Don't let a loss let yall switch up on him all of a sudden. He is still the Man no one was able to beat. He faced any challenger, defeated them all. An extremely skillful and articulate fighter. Alex beat him... But I don't ride hype trains. Izzy is the same boss. The fact that he lost... Yet again.. to a person who has repeatedly won over him, doesn't change the fa T that he can beat practically everyone. He is a masterful fighter. He just needs to solve this Alex puzzle. I think Alex can beat him again, but I also think Izzy can beat Alex. I still want to see them fight again.
On another note.....Watching Alex's Guy translate like that is so admirable. I've always admired persons who can be so proficient in various Languages. Being the middle man of two totally different cultures and being able to identify with each to the point where u can bridge the gap between two folks trying to communicate. Great skill to have.

Talked all that game about Paulo, then didn’t step up when they were in the same vicinity. At that point, everyone should’ve learned he ain’t about that life.
Then the guy is forced to apologize about getting into a scuffle during Islam’s last fight. Dude is the fakest tough guy I’ve seen in the UFC.

That’s why Khamzat said no. It’s not hard to figure it out. Above everyone’s head.
Khamzat wants a title fight at 185. He wants Alex to cut down to 185 and put the title up for grabs.
Alex only wants to cut to 205 and not fight for title. Alex isn’t stupid. Khamzat isn’t stupid neither.
