Dries, I’m in the process of making a living as a full time artist and although I have a lot to learn I want to thank you sincerely for all the value you provide. The landscape changes quickly and your channel helps immensely in bridging the gap. I hope to meet you someday and share success stories. Grateful beyond words, Scott
I can't thank-you enough I'm only 3 months into my journey of selling my art and you have rained me in and I'm growing fast, the world is opening up thanks to you ❤🎉😅 Your amazing and thank-you once again
The other thing people don't consider, is many art collectors don't like going to galleries they aren't friends with. They know they are also being charged commission, so they would prefer to know artists independent of the galleries. I would invite collectors to my art studio, not exhibition openings. Sold more work that way and built better relationships.
I would love to invite collectors to my studio if I had one. Currently, my whole house doubles as my studio, and I just paint in whatever room feels right that particular day. I keep my work in my "art room," which is my son's former bedroom, but is completely unorganized. I started out strong putting it together as a studio when he decided to move his room down to a finished room in the basement for more privacy, and then life got in the way because as a single parent I also have to work full time, so my "studio/art room" is full of all my art supplies, but too cluttered to sit in and feel peaceful enough to paint in.
wow dries this video is a course in itself... I had been selling $5K and even $10K per month on my socials during covid but I've noticed my organic reach has decreased with new algorithms; this vid makes me think I require to get more proactive!
Yes the algorithms change constantly... On top of that it's not always the algorithm that is responsible for the lower reach and it's hard to know exactly how or what... But these approaches don't really require the algorithm that's one of their strengths.
No I don't... Perhaps I should have that haha XD I'll think about it in the future. What format would be useful to you? Regular paper or poster or something you could use in the art studio or something?
You can already access it... Just screenshot the list... I thought that was easiest... I don't have it in another format or anything. Would you like it in pdf instead?
Well you can already access it by just screenshotting it on the video. I could have also added some kind of PDF version that you could access but that would then be with giving your email address and I think that people don't really like that so that's why I just made it available on the video itself thorough screenshots... Not sure... Should I put it in pdf format instead?
Do you have any suggestions at all on how to do this without Instagram? I am a visually impaired artist, and navigating things like Facebook and Instagram is difficult for my screen reader. I could enlist the help of others, but I’m trying to do this myself :-)
Totally understand, I tend to like to do things myself as well. There are several other ways, one that has some similarities with the one explained in this video utilizing google. I'll probably cover it in an upcoming video but I can't promise when.
Nice job mait. Too much information though as we would rather read all that you've said. It might be easier to digest in black and white 😂❤ Keep us informed as your vids have a lot of content but some of us need step by step (old school style) Allin all we hope to digest and apply some of these methods. GOD Bless
Yeah I've been thinking about that for sure... Perhaps a small e book format or something... Diving deeper into some concepts as well... Perhaps one day when there are enough views to justify that amount of effort
Wow what a quick reply. Thank you brother. I'm not young like you but my passion is not dead lol. 🤯🙊🙈🙉 this is how some of us feel when having to start the gig on the interNut. All is good 👍 ✌️
so many people make such bad art and think that the buyers or collectors will be all over it. Failure, people. Why don't you learn to make good art first?

Great explanation from the beginning that there are DIFFERENT types of collectors.
Glad you think so! Hope you'll like the list as well then.

Hi Dries, not a beginner but great info thanks so much for your work! Highly appreciated.
Dries after your advice, I hunted a few collectors. Thanks Bro. 👏

Love your posts ❤
Glad you like them!
Hi @DriesKetels! Are the docs you mention in this video on collector types & search hacks still available? :)
Dries do you have a hard copy/pdf of the 30 ways?
No I don't... Perhaps I should have that haha XD I'll think about it in the future. What format would be useful to you? Regular paper or poster or something you could use in the art studio or something?
17:00 great explanation about the percentages.
Glad you like it.
Very interesting and informative video. Congrats 👏
Glad you liked it! Thank you
hello! thank you so much for this. is there a link where we can download/purchase the lists you mentioned here? thanks again for sharing all this :)
I just love you, Dries.
That's very kind of you! Thanks.
as a Novice/emotional buyer......can you provide any tips on how to detect an Enhanced Giclee ? ( paint over print )
Yes I do but it's hard to explain in a comment. The easiest way is to just ask the artist... 99.7% of them will be honest about it for sure
Awesome, thank you!
You're welcome!
Where can we access the list of collector types you posted at end of your video?
You can already access it... Just screenshot the list... I thought that was easiest... I don't have it in another format or anything. Would you like it in pdf instead?

@@driesketels I’ll watch again and screenshot it so you don’t have to send. I watched on iPhone initially and it was too small.

😮 Dries dont encourage mediocrity. The world is awash with junk acrylic paintings .
You found a way to take exactly the wrong lesson from this whole video and distill it in a butthurt comment 👍🏾
