- TerraMaster F4-423 4K A forward thinking NAS with great IO and some quarks? This review will cover TerraMaster F4-423, top of the line 4 powerful 4 bay NAS. We'll quickly go over the differences between a NAS and a DAS, since I got to review both of their units. I touch on the various features of this NAS, which there are plenty, from the IO, to upgrading RAM, installing NVMe and more. It has really great power and amazing IO relative to what the competitor is offering. Then we'll talk about TOS or TerraMaster Operating System and briefly cover the star of the system, which is TRAID, similar to Synology Hybrid RAID in a way that enable the full use of mixed capacity HDD or SSD. We'll go over some of the quarks for TOS, and quickly compare it relative to other options on the market.

I am not a pro photographer just a pro hobbyist shooting African wildlife pics , my HDD 4TB is now full . Would this unit be a good start for a first NAS / DAS . I bought half year ago the M2P 1TB … after years of delaying (replacement of 2009 MM)
The one that reviewed here is a NAS and yes it isa good mid tier one.
