Dear Mr Hormazd and mr. Sergius, thank you for another wonderful podcast. GNCAP tests for 40% frontal impact are conducted at 64 kmph. Side impact tests are conducted at 50 kmph. How realistic are those speeds when compared to real world scenarios of highway driving. Thank you and best wishes always.
I don't think calling older Marutis Tin can was trolling. It is because of this bad rap that Maruti finally switched to high tensile steel and stable shell. Now we have Maruti taking safety seriously, now after calling Tatas as Desh ka Loha, safe car. We can start calling them out on their unreliability.
AMTs of Maruti are much better than Hyundais in terms of head nod and mileage - comparing Celerio and Exter, having driven them back to back for months.
An important topic not being discussed by auto journalists is that the old dzire with poor safety ratings will still continue as taxi/fleet version. This action will put lakhs of Indians who travel everyday in Taxis or app cabs in danger. Road safety should not be only for those who buy cars for personal use.
Dzire will rock the world now the new design elements and 5 star ncap rating makes it safe for human lives. Suzuki's service network is the best in India. ❤❤❤
Best car for mumbai (non existent) roads under 30 lacs Most suburbs in mumbai have extremely poor quality roads with potholes and patchwork. I currently use a creta and there is a constant rumble / bumps and significant body roll which tires one out. Even the so called expressways eastern and western are like driving on the moon’s surface. I have tried to reduce the air pressure but that creates a new issue that you start to feel even the smallest undulation. Which car would you recommend for a comfortable ride on such roads? Sedan or suv under 30 lacs.
Automakers should provide automatic transmission options for all variants, we don't need other gimmicks but transmission type should be an option, it's time when automatic shouldn't be a luxury only.
Brilliant Content as usual why still use age old Automated Manual Transmission & Why not use CVT or Torque Converter simple. Honda should name their products now not as Amaze it should be Chromaze or Elavate should called Chromevate 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Amazing Insights on auto industry as usual 👌🏼🤘🏻🚗
On CVT automatic, think with series hybrid coming , it will be redundant. Electric Motor is the best drive train for a car. Even if hybrid comes out costlier than CVT, it will make up with significant increase in mileage that hybrid will give. Goong forward probably we will have manual, AMT, hybrid and EV versions of all vehicles
Really interesting quality Podcast.Mr.Homrazd has versatile knowledge of Auto World like sort of encyclopedia of Car Industry of India. I have been following him since 1998 through Car Megazine.
22:00 I would have been happier if the 2024 facelift Dzire had an AT(Torque Converter) transmission . Currently, I own TC an 2009 Hyundai Sports AT I am so happy with the TC as it drives seamlessly. And it is very responsive when u need the extra power for a immediate takeover.
Dear mr Hormazd, it is said that when driving a cng fueled vehicle, in a day, the first 4 to 5 kms and the last 4 to 5 kms are to be run on petrol to prolong the engine's life. Would appreciate your opinion. Thank you very much.
The only reason to setback to buy Dzire is the AMT transmission... For the zxi+ we can get Fronx 1.0 with the same 6-airbags version with a good discount.
Talking of fuel efficiency that you guys touched upon, could Autocar devote a show on "multi-power" offerings in the future? We are now beginning to see "2 power" sources - it started with hybrid-plus-ICE and now we're seeing CNG-plus-petrol. Are we likely to see something like "Ethanol-mix-Petrol Plus Hybrid" in the near future? This could be a game changer, especially when our engines become 20% Ethanol capable. Together with Hybrid, especially strong hybrid, this could be one that customers could see huge advantages in terms of running costs and one that would differentiate the first OEM that comes out with a product on these lines. Personally, I would greatly welcome a median price range sedan or SUV - Rs.12 L to 20 L - that gives me both an Ethanol capable ICE plus a strong hybrid. What do you folks think?
Dezire+AMT is worst combination.. Service centre costed me around 1lakh for its issues... Don't buy AMT with Suzuki... You need replace entire unit... That's bad thing
I always had one question in my mind. Good opportunity to ask it here Why did Tata cannabalise the Zest so soon with the launch of Tigor ? (Similar to Hyundai's Venue and Exter)
I wish compact sedans will come with strong hybrid (like 5kWh battery, not that meagre 500wH battery pack). Or the best option would be to make EV compact sedans.
It’s time they show some love on Ciaz; just slap on grand vitara’s interior sharpen the looks little bit as well as the build quality add 4 more airbags as standard and please don’t add sunroof - for Indian climate it’s useless- AC will be better
Tata's engine killed its sub sedan cars. Maruti got the taxi market for its engine reliability and cheap parts availability. Wish Tata come back with better bs6 engine.
With coming of new premium model of Amaze, the sub four meter segment of Honda gets abolished and making it quit from taxi fleet. Ford's quit from India made aspire dead and quit from taxi fleet. Toyota also no more in taxi fleet. Tata also not in race. Present king in taxi fleet is Suzuki dezire and side by side is Hyundai aura. As there is no compitition and customer has no option, it makes Suzuki dezire sell in taxi fleet always high in future.

No. The 4m rule didn't led to pathetic design but it led to cheaper cars. Proportionate and balanced cars are still there, you just have to pay more for that.

Dzire looks nice in flesh, finally Suzuki is getting serious about vehicle designs.

I hope sedans make a big comeback

I feel Hyundai's are smoother. But potato tomato.
AMTs are amts.
Only thing that will revive the sedan segment is good roads
Exactly... been a sedan fan for the longest time but not considering it even the slavia coz here in MZ, 180mm is not even enough

Maintaining the old gen for the fleet customers is a master stroke.

Ha ha ha. Someone reversed Vento into a wall

Grand vitarra hybrid
Please talk about Citroen. I feel like they are a good brand but for some reason they are not doing good.
6air bags and rear defogger in lxi made go... Awwwwwww

Yes bring the sedans and those comfy rear seats and roomy cabins
@25lakhs which will be a better drive .... jeep compass or thar Roxx ?? (Diesel trim only)
None. With Diesel Delhi smog will be better.
Compass
Jeep Compass obviously
Compass no doubt
Car is only a sedan, not any other body style, egarly waiting for the new Amaze.
I think Volkswagen Ameo is one such sub 4 meter suv, where designers really struggled.
The Tata Manza was a beautiful Sedan. Very comfortable with good boot space & fairly good mileage.

Any new scoop on Maruti's upcoming series Hybrid fronx ?
Dear mr Hormazd, it is said that when driving a cng fueled vehicle, in a day, the first 4 to 5 kms and the last 4 to 5 kms are to be run on petrol to prolong the engine's life. Would appreciate your opinion. Thank you very much.
6:12 I don't think dzire will achieve that kind of sales again. They're not allowing taxi operators to finance the car for taxi use.
The only reason to setback to buy Dzire is the AMT transmission... For the zxi+ we can get Fronx 1.0 with the same 6-airbags version with a good discount.

How is it that BMW and Merc are able to upgrade and sell their sedans but Honda and Hyundai are not??
For the GNCAP, I believe we "deserved" as customers of MS. Why do we have to sit in dangerous car at all?
Is Maruti planning to have a series hybrid in Desire. Can you comment please.
Dezire+AMT is worst combination.. Service centre costed me around 1lakh for its issues... Don't buy AMT with Suzuki... You need replace entire unit... That's bad thing
new amaze with CVT + 4 cylinder ivtec will be sooo much better. smart people will wait for amaze before deciding
I always had one question in my mind. Good opportunity to ask it here
Why did Tata cannabalise the Zest so soon with the launch of Tigor ?
(Similar to Hyundai's Venue and Exter)
Venue and exter r two diff segments...jus like Nexon and punch
Nexon competes with Creta I think@@dineshy7532
Make the roads the sedan deserve and people will buy sedan
I wish compact sedans will come with strong hybrid (like 5kWh battery, not that meagre 500wH battery pack). Or the best option would be to make EV compact sedans.
I prefer a sedan over an SUV any day. SUVs as an every day car and in city, does not make sense at all.
Yes, it will do what volkswagen/ skoda could not do !
It’s time they show some love on Ciaz; just slap on grand vitara’s interior sharpen the looks little bit as well as the build quality add 4 more airbags as standard and please don’t add sunroof - for Indian climate it’s useless- AC will be better
We need a sport edition with 1.0 engine fully black leather interior with ventilated seats..
i still believe suv's offer more comfort than a sedan on long highway runs
27:18 . So true
Imagine what ddis 1.3 ltr would have felt in new dzire.
Hope Ciaz gets the facelift
Dzire deserve booster jet engine
Mumbai roads full of Maruti and Hyundai taxis name it you have it all for you 😂
Diesel is a Diesel is a Diesel 😢
Aspire TDCI was a gem which we all lost to stupid Indian mentality of buying only Dzire
Exactly what my mum wants
There is no aspiration to get a dzire, it will do good numbers but only as a taxi.
You think so but it isn't the case. With the new looks of dzire it definitely has got aspirational quotient
Tata's engine killed its sub sedan cars. Maruti got the taxi market for its engine reliability and cheap parts availability.

compact Sedan makes no sense for private buyer. Micro/Mini SUVs are far better for anyone.
