And it's not just rising sea level. Limestone compresses with all those high rises now replacing two stories.
But when rain water, even in a thousand year event, coincides with high tide, it’s not good, I’m not exactly a believer in climate change, but they do need to understand what is in their soil layers before building. Sort of agreeing with both of you.

I have lived in south Florida for 23 years and as a truck driver I drive in both broward and dade County. We have had hurricanes and tropical storms last longer than the storm we had that caused the flood in fort lauderdale and I can tell for a fact that some is responsible for these floods, not the weather. The sewer/ drainage system was not working properly that's a day and a half of rain caused so much damage. Please spread this message. They are not reporting on that fact.
