I think most are also aware of the irony too, which makes them rock even harder in that night where they can go totally loose and let it out so to speak. Besides the song has an ironic lyrics that dares its listeners to be a complete stooge to whoever(or whatever it is) that is controlling their lives, whether it be another person or substances, and see where being a total puppet will lead them in life.
I'm so happy to hear Lars using double bass again! Also, this is by far his best looking kit so far! In my 30 plus years as a die hard metallica fan I've only had the privilege of seeing them live once but it was one of the best live shows I've ever seen!
This song will never get old for fans, but mettalica performed this song more than a million times and yet they still give the same power. Being a celebrity is not easy. I couldn't do the same thing, it's the hardest thing to do.
So interesting to see all the small 'compromises' James makes now in his guitar parts - of course to be still playing as he does at 60 is madness so no problem with me - the pause in the spider riff, the verse riff only being played on the E string, the pre chorus being rung out instead of picked, and that's only in the first 90 seconds. Gotta do what you gotta do brother!
@@FreeMTrider sure, but that wasn’t to do with their physical abilities and preserving longevity/staving off fatigue…they used to find parts of songs boring or too complex and/or watched the crowd get bored with certain parts of songs. I’m just commenting on the interesting ways and workarounds James is still managing to play such tunes and sing at his age.
@@twosnakse I see what you're saying. But my point is they just weren't as tight in those days. The technology and equipment wasn't as good and they were still learning their chops for bigger venues in the mid 80s. Yeah like, singing and playing at the same time is NOT EASY. Papa Het is 100% having to compromise more as time goes on, which is completely fair considering these guys have been at it for so long. The irony of them playing this track there where everyone is a puppet to the rulers..
Saudi Arabia allowing a metal concert, maybe there’s still hope for this world!🔥🔥🔥🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I'm so happy to hear Lars using double bass again! Also, this is by far his best looking kit so far! In my 30 plus years as a die hard metallica fan I've only had the privilege of seeing them live once but it was one of the best live shows I've ever seen!
James is sharper than ever here! This live version is magnificent by far❤
This song will never get old for fans, but mettalica performed this song more than a million times and yet they still give the same power. Being a celebrity is not easy. I couldn't do the same thing, it's the hardest thing to do.
Insane energy these dudes have ...i was there unforgettable night
So interesting to see all the small 'compromises' James makes now in his guitar parts - of course to be still playing as he does at 60 is madness so no problem with me - the pause in the spider riff, the verse riff only being played on the E string, the pre chorus being rung out instead of picked, and that's only in the first 90 seconds. Gotta do what you gotta do brother!
They used to skip and modify a lot more in the '80s and early '90s. But that's when I saw them live and didn't have to worry about youtube.
I saw them right before Lightning was released and after when they opened for Y&T and at Day on the Green. They play pretty long sets these days and interact with the crowd much more.
Yeah like, singing and playing at the same time is NOT EASY. Papa Het is 100% having to compromise more as time goes on, which is completely fair considering these guys have been at it for so long. Tbf it also looks like he may have been having an off-night as well since there were a few noticeable mistakes (the big one being the second chorus fumble). Not like 99% of us could do better though lol.
@@maxparece4155and Back in the day, bands made a lot of mistakes and changes live. Now it’s all super over analyzed.
Легенды, дают жару покруче некоторых молодых💪
My vocal chords are still in Ryadh..😂🤘🏽❤️ that was an epiiiic night
Mine too😂
@@ali965 🤘🏽😂❤️
why the crowd were silent?😂
@@yes0011 probably you should go see a otolaryngologist
@@adityalokapratama8495 you probably go watch all master of puppets live. how long you've been metallica fans?
KUDOS AND THANK YOU SOUNDSTORM23 BRING BACK METALLICA AGAIN TO RIYADH SAUDI ARABIA. DECEMBER 14 2023 IS MY UNFORGETTABLE NIGHT IN SAUDI ARABIA
I was there and it was INCREDIBLE! Hopefully more and more metal bands can come to Saudi 🤘🏽
lies
To all the people crying about Metallica performing in Saudi Arabia, they also performed in Soviet Russia with Pantera in 1990 and you people weren't complaining.
Master of Puppets is such a totally iconic classic and it never fails to sound amazing! 🤘🏻
metalica in saudi arabia!!! Owo its unbelievable 😲😲😲
Most clean sound of the concert... performance still undisputed... kudos to the Metallica and their engineer...
At 3 minutes James laughed because he could not believe how well they still crush this song and how locked in he is with Lars after all these years
Appreciate you boys going out there and giving it your all. I know its hard these days but you guys still know how to rock🤘🤘
They still got it after all these year's. Awesome.
What a show honestly these guys continue to kill it
my family and I saw their concert in Riyadh. a blessed gift for us
They're still phenomenal after 40 years of kicking ass!! Had the pleasure of seeing them in 85, 91 , and 2009! Fking awesome!!
Saudi Arabian crowd is amazing!
