I think taking cabs is not feasible if you are on a budget. You could have taken a bike/scooty on rent from Guwahati. It costs 600 per scooter or 300 per person per day. You can add 300-400 per day for petrol, which comes out to 450 per person per day if two people are using the scooter
Dawki is not clear now till dec it's good to visit der... Ask your local cab to take you to west khasi hills instead lots of new unexplored places out der you won't regret...
