I have dear Marguerite ! And in addition, my mother requested a red scarf fo Christmas, so I will keep the two balls of red mohair I was going to return. I am always happy to read your (collective) comments ❤️
Dear Rebecca, I am so glad I can be of some positive inspiration. We can do this all together. What are your goals if I may ask (you do not have to share in public if you do not feel like it, of course !) ❤️
Oh yes dear Kathryn, it was ! And I guess 7 or 8 weeks post-surgery was the magic number for me, even if all is not back to normal (easily tired and residual muscle and nerve pain). I was hoping I could cast it on for my birthday, well, it will most certainly be my Christmas cast-on with a little help from the mohair and postal gods 😺 I hope you are doing well ❤️
Oh yes Lisa, me too, and it was a bit overwhelming after this extended period of quiet (not silence because I listen to a lot of music), walks outside in nature etc. Funny how we adapt. Hoping you are well 💙
@@HillbillyKnitter I hope you are doing fine ❤️ I need to get the mohair before I can start on these ones ! I’m almost finished with Vertices Unite - only the I-cord to go, and not sure what I will do next ..
@@isabelle.duchatelle I am finishing a sweater called the Dunrobin sweater today. I have a color work vest to cast on as a Christmas gift for my daughter tomorrow and lots of Christmas socks to knit in the next few weeks. I never get bored because I always have my knitting. I hope you are fully recovered from your surgery, and enjoying your every day.
@@HillbillyKnitter Not quite yet, I still have some neuropathy induced pain that resists a bit .. Less than a couple weeks ago but still present. We’ll see..
What a wonderful sounding festival; lovely yarn and lovely food, ... and congratulations on being able to drive once more! Your nutiden yarns are gorgeous, I wish yarn like that would come my way too, lol! :>
Congratulations on winning yarn chicken! Punica granatum is the botanical name. Granada as well as the liqueur grenadine was named for the fruit which is pomegranate in English. I was just saying to a friend that I don't think Rhinebeck is worth it for a budget knitter like me. I would rather spend the same money on a real trip. I would love to go to Nova Scotia and PEI where they have a small yarn festival but beautiful hiking, biking and other tourist attractions. Someday when I am no longer caring for Mom, I have many ideas for travel, maybe I will even make it to France and go to your local event🥰
Oh thank you dear Genie, and yes please come to visit ! There are two main fibre festivals in France, Knit Eat in Lyon (happened two week-ends ago) and Festival international de la laine in Felletin (in Creuse, in the middle of nowhere in central France, I think I already talked about Felletin in several videos). These two are on my bucket list when I am no loger working (a couple years from now though..) - I'd be so glad we meet. PEI is also very appealing to me ❤️
I will plan to be at Feno! The only question will be if we will knit Feno sweaters. The lovely people at the festival will wonder what if they ended up in The Twilight Zone 😂💗💗
Ahahah Sarah, Feno sweaters 😹😹😹 That should be a thing 😸 I'm not sure my knit and crochet friends from the group would enjoy as it is not a very popular habit here. We can start a trend and have everyone come to Feno !! ❤️
I'm so happy to see you doing better. I will say, though, that when you talk about massaging your wound, I do cringe a bit. LOL. I live in the States but have never made it to the Rhinebeck. I've never been to any fiber festival. But I will be living in France next year, so maybe I can make it to yours! I pray that you keep getting better and stronger, day by day.
Ahah, yes, and even if massaging the wound gets better, it is still a bit on the painful side .. If you ever come close by, I would be delighted if we have a chance to meet and knit together, at this event, or another one, or just because we are worth it ❤️
Oh, I love the Seashell sweater you have in your Nutiden Bundle. I had to add it to my Favorites. I am loving my Nutiden yarns and I am always looking for pattern suggestions. I love your philosophy with the "no buy year", I plan to do that or something similar. I have a lot of yarn and I also LOVE to process fleece, some times dye it, and then spin it. I love your sense of humor and am happy to see your recordings each week. I would love to put your festival on my dream list.
@@sonomaknits Thank you 💙 And if you do come, please let me know ! Some of the patterns I selected may need short sleeves if I go with Amanita. I am almost settled on the Rebel cardigan for IRR. I am very happy to see i can be of some inspiration ❤️
By the way, last year at this time I knit 15 Nutiden headbands for friends and family. It doesn't take much Nutiden if you have left overs. I have everything on Rav. It's a free pattern called Blue Leaf Headband. Have a great Sunday!
@@isabelle.duchatelle Ohhhh, Rebel is a very nice cardigan and I like that it looks like the collar is knit in one piece and that there is no button band. The Raspberry would look GREAT in that pattern. I have a sweater quantity of the raspberry also but have not decided which pattern to make. I am glad you got through your surgery and are going for walks. All the best.
Integrated button band, no button and great fit, Rebel checks all of my boxes. Please let me know what you decide, there is another one of the lovely yous who also want to knit it ❤️
Dear Isabelle, I am basically on a no-buy period until 1. My yarn pantry is considerably smaller and 2. I can financially justify my purchase. I have been knitting now as a dedicated hobby for about 6 years and have accumulated a lot of beautiful yarn intended for projects which I just have never gotten around to making. I knit too slowly and have too little time to knit all these things: so I simply must tell myself that there is then no reason to purchase more. That being said, I recently moved back to the US from Europe and during the transition period of finding a new job and getting my housing sorted it was necessary for me to tighten my belt budget-wise. For the time being, I literally must consider that an expensive skein of yarn could actually pay for a week’s worth of gas😅.
Ahah, yes, and if we have the tendency to accumulate, it could come from very different, intertwined and confusing reasons. Something we need to work on and having it before our eyes is part of the process. I can manage my yarn situation (even if yarn comes my way on its own) not my food one. We can always improve, small or even tiny steps at a time ❤️
Lovely to see you so animated and full of high spirits! Have fun planning projects with your beautiful red yarn.
