- Happy New Year dear listeners!
We come to you with a special episode featuring the brilliant author and professor of humanities at Birkbeck University, Jacqueline Rose as she applies her great psychoanalytic mind to the current situation in Gaza and, specifically, what makes a zionist tick.
Please enjoy and keep talking about Palestine!

The Xmas message made a big impact and was easily shared. Good to promote your current work.
My new favourite Christmas/revenge of the underdogs movie is "Riders of Justice" - in which a group of middle aged Danish nerds start a war with a vicious motorcycle gang as the result of a bicycle theft in Estonia. It's very dark but appeals to my twisted sense of humour.
Thank heavens for intelligent, sensitive and insightful discussion - takes one back decades!
It must be very hard to get a cat to say "free Palestine", I'm not surprised it didn't happen in the first take.
P.S.: I didn't mean to imply that cats are inherently zionist or anything
what a wonderful interview l
At several points, listening to what Jacqueline said, I actually felt new synapses forming in my mind.
Such a deep and rich insight into our human animal mind and lives.s
Very moving, inspiring and deeply thought provoking.
I found my 'Ullo John Got a New Motor?' picture disc last week.
I wondered had I sold it along with all my singles & soundtracks like a fool long long ago but no. I won't be parting with that, even though I gave away my turntable set-up long ago too. Well, if Alexei didn't have his own copy & needed one, I'd give it to Alexei naturally because after all it's his record isn't it but otherwise, I'm glad it showed up again after 25 years, & I remember how, when you play the picture disc on a turntable, it looks like Alexei is breakdancing on the plinth, splattered on the platter. I've got a record by Alexei Sayle. I've got a record by Alexei Sayle.

strangely i'm listening to this with inears while doing the dishes
Thanks so much Alexei and Talal for introducing us to Jacqueline Rose, I’m totally in agreement with Talal I was transfixed for the entire interview, one of the most compelling interviews to date.
The interview with Jacqueline Rose was totally illuminating. It provided an analysis of the conflict in Gaza, free from emotion other than a felling for the common man how ever they are identified. It was also free from psycho-babble which made it made things completely comprehensible.
I'm watching this because of your Christmas broadcast. The psychology of the conflict in Gaza is a huge area that must be covered more fully. Thank you for your contribution Jacqueline Rose. Jewish philosophers and academics will be so important in healing wounds after this conflict and addressing the problems of indoctrination. I keep looking out for you Alexei on the marches to shake your hand. Alexei hurry up we need that answer you promised at the end of the podcast.
what a fantastic interview! Rose's article in the LRB is on the LRB website (dated 30th November)
Thank you and Talal for the brilliant interview with Jacqueline Rose, what an amazing woman. I could have listened for hours.mplease give us more and keep doing what you are doing!
Excellent interview. Must find out more about Jacqueline Rose - she makes much sense.
SUPERB! Thank you Alexei, thoughly enjoyed listening to you. And thank you for introducing Jacqueline (Rose) to me. She was breathtaking. I have sent this podcast to 5 of my most favourate friends for further education. Love to all. (Gareth Bamsey) Port Talbot.
Thanks for an interesting podcast, I like the cut of Jacqueline Rose's jib, and the sound of those books she's written. Maybe because I'm a mother, partly, mostly because she's knowledgeable, interesting, as well as insightful and relatable.
It's never futile even if there are a lot of people who are difficult to deal with, (to put it mildly.) We are universal beings, beautiful animals, the living world is long lasting, and, if nothing else, humanity is coming together in it's heart, which is what matters. This madness can't last forever thankfully.
Excellent as always, some interesting insights from your guest. Keep up the good work. Tiofaidh do la .✌️👍
Alexei said he'd like us to think of ways he could focus on the video element of the podcast.
Im coming up to retirement, so, how about teaching us some tai chi or farang gong and maybe explaining what they are?
The reason podcasts were created.....that was fascinating
Engaging conversation thank you 🙏
I stumbled on this! Shadow banning sucks
Another great podcast and guest 👍well done team
I didn't expect to see Jacqueline interviewed here!
Loved all the equalizers
Just to qualify my last comment; it was a light-hearted reference to the introduction. Really interesting and informative interview with Jaqueline Rose. Thanks Alexi and all concerned for posting✌🏻
Thanks for posting.
That was an extraordinary listen. I think it's going to take me a while to appreciate the impact that has had.
Thanks Alexei and Talal! 👍
Nice one Jacqueline is very good
Wonderful.
Please encourage Corbyn to use the P+JP to get political parties to coordinate against the Tories and Labour right.
We'd all LOVE to see more of your beautiful face! ❤❤❤
You two not mentioned Edward Woodwood as the original “Equalizer” in TV series from 1985? Shame on you.
Enjoying your blatherings, though. Happy new year.
Yeah, that Equalizer / A-Team crossover episode isn't going to happen. Another dream, stone cold dead in the kitchen sink.
* Edwood
There's only one Equalizer. The original. Edward Woodward. But yeah, I like the Denzel films. Now, where's the next Capaldi episode? Hey, he could play The Equalizer and Alexei can be one of his contacts
Alexei can be a Soviet era villain!
Wilf is the star of the show.
On sexual violence. Not to say that it didn't neccesarily occur but at this stage there is actually no evidence, and there IS a lot a false narratives that have been shown to be false
otherwise Rose is very on point.

Wilf was the best bit! not really good message well said, Love you Alexi! (have since Stuff and that...)
I watched Nobody last night...nd it was shite. Except for Bob Oberkirk and the wry humour. The first hour is watchable then it goes into pure violence.
Queen Latifa is more convincing as ex Special Forces than Edward Woodward!
