Check the price comparison here: - GoPro9 amzn.to/3je7HD0 - DJI Osmo Action amzn.to/3zWEO4d My verdict on why DJI Osmo Action beats the GoPro Hero 9: 1) GoPro 9 costs 400 USD. DJI Osmo Action costs 200 USD. That's half the price. And the DJI Osmo Action comes with a spare battery too! 2) From time to time the DJI Osmo Action gets a discount, bringing it to even less than 200 3) GoPro 9, based on the few experiences shared here within the comments, freezes quite often. I can't afford the chance of losing my footage, losing the moment, having corrupt files
You’re amazing at filming. Any tips how a beginner like me could begin to learn? Did you take college courses to learn, watch many RUclips videos? I’m just amazed whenever I see quality like yours.

I just got one too. After owning 4 gopros I couldn't bring myself to buy another one without seeing how this one works. So far it's been worth every penny and then some.
What a good review, to be honest it could well be the best review on the DJI Osmo Action I have ever watched. And you mentioned things other reviewers don't talk about.
I’ve had both and they both have their selling points. However the Osmo Action interface is just amazing. I’ve been using mine for travel vids and it smokes the Gopro for usability and reliability. The Quick switch and sleep mode are game changers when using it a lot. In fact I don’t even bring my Fuji xt4 on most trips. This is my favorite camera.
@@WishCasting indeed. Will look forward to more content on gear from your channel. Is there a difference when recording HD and 4k in terms of field of view ?
Thanks a lot for supporting us Neoray. No change in terms of field of view. The only time it does change is when you enable/disable the dewarp feature or stabilization. Unlike GoPro, there is no superview type of recording. But that's just better for us videographers out there (higher resolution, better-looking videos overall straight out of the camera, see why below). IMPORTANT NOTE: Natively GoPro has an installed fisheye lens. Every time you configure the GoPro to record in Linear/wide mode (what DJI Osmo Action has natively), you're actually cropping in significantly a lot, reducing the real 4K resolution to something much lower. For a GoPro to reach the same FOV of a DJI Osmo Action, it needs to lose video real estate, resulting in a much lower resolution and detail. Hope it makes some sense. If you're looking for a DSLR substitute, with a good degree of performance for action videos too, the DJI Osmo Action is just unbeatable. If instead, you're looking for extreme sport FOV cameras, GoPro is the best choice there. I'm not using my GoPros anymore now, and it's rare for me to use my GH5, unless I need b-roll with a different focal aperture/length
@@WishCasting oh I didn't know GoPro crops and reduces the footage quality for other viewing modes. I am convinced to get the osmo action but somewhere I am like what of dji releases another version of it soon :p basically have FOMO (fear of missing out on the best ) thank you so much for what the osmo is for price it is indeed unbeatable

Best camera ever, despite being a 2019 model. I dropped my 1st osmo action several floors on my adventures, totally broke the lens cap and scratched the lens. I immediately bought a new osmo action... Or, not just one, I bought two! That's how much I love this camera
Dji osmo action 1 is the best action camera on the market yet. Nothing beats it. Won't get the 2. Not impressive enough, not even an SD card. Don't like it
@@WishCasting Thats great!!! But Then have to admit that Im a little confused here between the Go Pro and this because of the Super View feature on the Go Pro because I love doing POV videos while driving. And the Osmo lacks that so I don't really know what to pick. Im totally convinced on getting the Osmo just this feature is holding me back. Could you kindly suggest what do I go in for!!!
Just disable the dewarp feature and it'll have much more in the picture, similar like a gopro. It's quite wide! Not as much but very close! When you do sports then disable it. When shooting other things re-enable it. It's so worth it! I hate to correct barrel distortion in post. To see how wide it is, check my last video where I test the HDR feature. That video is all with a fisheye gopro stile footage.
When I move files from Osmo action to Premiere Pro CC it has audio and video parts. When it´s static, I can see picture from video. When I hit play, black screen. Audio is fine. What´s going on? Codecs? I have to convert video from Osmo Action to another format before importing to Premiere Pro?
@@WishCasting PC: Ryzen 5, RTX 2070, 16GB RAM (gaming PC). I edited many videos (phone, camera, various formats) without problems until now with Osmo Action. Tried to install Quicktime. Didn´t help. Maybe I need to reinstall completely whole Adobe package (everything from Adobe) but it is strange that it displays still image when stopped, otherwise black screen with audio only. Same videos from Osmo Action plays in DaVinci Resolve without problems (but I hate editing in DvR).
About thirty percent of my channel is filmed on an Osmo Action I picked up while living in India and I absolutely love it. It still gets used whenever I can’t bring along my big camera or need a good b-cam. 👍👍👍
I went with my Osmo Action over the Hero 7/8 Black when I was deciding back then, and I couldn't be happier. It hasn't ever let me down, and shoots great footage. The fact that the Hero 9 is taking options from the Osmo Action should tell people all they need to know...
You just STOPPED me from buying a Hero 9! My gosh! This was so informative. Can you please show me the link for the mic set up u r using fir THIS review? Thank you so much. Tim, Chicago.
Hi Tim! Have a look at the kit I have in the description! Those are the accessories I use on all my shoots! I'm preparing a video on the microphone. Stay tuned! It's a fantastic microphone that now costs little too cause a 2nd iteration came out, making this one much cheaper!
Fantastic review and possibly the best travel video ever! I lug around Sony a7III/a7rIII on a gimbal for real estate, but just got Osmo Action for fun. I had no idea the video quality was so impressive til I watched this video. Thanks and I subbed!
You're way too kind! And I really appreciate it!! ❤️ Your setup is for pro shoots, but if you want to go light, this is a fantastic config. I use a gh5 with heavy lens and a heavy Gimbal, the outcome is super good but... It's so heavy! I am now verging more towards practicality, and enjoying the creativity, rather than just making video look good. Where are you from? Where can I see your work? Pleasure to make your acquaintance!
Purchased in August 2020 as my first action cam and 100% satisfied with osmo action ,, I don’t care about fov as compared to GoPro .. osmo is rock solid .. no heating or lagging issues like GoPro ..
Is it possible to shoot music videos by inputting audio from a small mixer directly into the camera? The built in mic doesn`t sound very good for live music.
Absolutely yes, but for that you'll need to buy the Rode Wireless Go or any other wireless transmitter microphone to send the mixer signal directly on the audio track
I'm going to do a review of the Rode Wireless Go with the DJI Osmo Action soon, I'm working on the HDR features of the camera now. Meanwhile you can read more about the Rode on the kit I use below in the description. You'll love it! It's such a handy small device
My pleasure!! You're going to love it! I'm publishing a new video today, it's a hack to get the most out of your dji without having to edit and color grade. Let me know once you buy it how much you like it! Or hate it (hope not)! ☺️
I did not like his style.... the audio starting a few seconds before each clip.. was grating in a way.. .hard to describe... I am more technologically advanced than others my age... the MTV generation has been.. weaned on... fast clip videos with new images every second, and fast paced video edits... so what is perceived by those younger than I may be very different... it you watch any video prior to say 1970.. images came slower and were perhaps more though out... so styles do change... ( none of this is meant to be a critique.. just a reflections)
Hi. What would you say the better settings would be for underwater video ? I’m pretty sure I’d need a red filter for ocean diving. Anything I should switch the settings to inside the camera ?
In the camera I would adjust the iso range from 100 to 800 max. Shutter speed at 1/50th. Color flat. Dewarp on. Rocksteady on. This should work well. Red filter is ideal. But I got away without it in the Maldives.
You're right. Yours is one of the view reviews with a fair amount of samples. And what samples they are! Prague is still on my bucket list of places to visit. Ahoi from Germany
@@WishCasting I'm right in the middle. But I was born and raised in Bavaria. My generation was the first that could pass the borders after the iron curtain fell. Been to Plzen in my youth many times.
And in fact, I still use it!! It really works well, and even on our 85 inch tv it looks great! There's such a big fuss over the latest best, when people could just stay with the same camera for 4-5 years and then update. Such a rush everyone has, a need to buy something new.
Powerbank is heavy, inconvenient. I'd say buy 3 batteries! That's a must! And buy a triple charger to put in your backpack to charge with your power bank. I love it! I shoot so much like this! Love it!
There has been many complains on Osmo on the issue of overheating. Similar complains of GP on heating & freezing issue as well. So which is a better buy for product confidence ?
A few questions: you mentioned that you can charge the camera with USB, can you also run the camera with USB? Does the camera have a recording limit? Does it overheat with continuous use? How easy is it to match to your GH5?
You can run the camera without a battery in it, just straight from any battery or power outlet through the USB port. The camera has no recording limit that I know of. It should record uninterruptedly until memory is full or battery is depleted. The camera doesn't overheat, I used 3 batteries nonstop a few days ago and ambient temperature was of 26 degrees celsius, sunny. No problems shooting for extended periods of time. The DJI osmo action cannot compare to the GH5 in terms of quality. It's super good, but not as rich as a GH5. The bitrate of the GH5 is simply above average and will offer a crisper, better detailed picture overall. But the DJI Osmo Action is superior than many competitors and can easily substitute the GH5 in most shots. It's so easy to use and the files are smaller, meaning it's much easier to edit without hiccups in Premiere Pro. You get to edit with full preview mode, without sacrificing any quality. The GH5 is another concept, it cannot relate to an action cam. But vlogging with a GH5 isn't an easy thing, that's when the DJI osmo naction comes into play succesfully. It makes it so easy to do anything, yet looking professional with an above average quality and color reproduction (not to mention the list of useful features it has).
@@WishCasting Thanks for your speedy response. I have two GH5’s and a Panasonic PX270 (ENG cam) and I shoot multicam live theatre, concerts and dance shows. I was thinking about adding one or more cameras on stage, unobtrusively, to shoot things like drummers, keyboards, even conductors.
Absolutely! But don't forget that action cams indoors perform poorly (DJI performs well, but you'll still have to sacrifice on ISO step increases). You could lower the shutter speed to the same value your framerate is set at. If you're doing static shots, the blurred movements will make it an interesting look (great for music videos), this will give you extra steps of light coming in the sensor without compromising image quality with ISO increase. Additionally you could setup better lighting, but that's luxury you may not have. I'd recommend a gh5 with an F1.8 8mm lens, but that's an expensive solution (worthwile though in your case). DJI Osmo Action will anyhow simplify your life so much, you might stop using your GH5s all along :D (ok that's simply not true I know). I'd definitely invest in it if you're looking for a great camera for a low price right now.
@@WishCasting Thanks for all your insights. In most theatric/ concert settings there is a lot of darkness but there are some pretty strong lights. Typically I shoot at f2.8 at ISO 800. I have some brighter primes that I have used on interview but for concerts the f2.8’s have been fine. On rare occasions I have I have boosted the ISO to 1200.
I almost never go that high or I start losing sharpness (noise reduction in post) and I don't like that. If the action cam is close to the subject and there is enough light shining on him, you'll be totally fine. I love ISO100, but I'm very spoiled in these terms. Nice chatting with you Gerald!
The price is dirt cheap. It’s better in every way for a straight up action camera short of a few features like better stabilization on the Insta. But basically, unless you need a 360 camera, this is the way to go. I’m a huge fan of insta360, and use the osmo+ a one x2. But unless I need 360 I grab this. And I sold my One R with the 1” sensor
Great video, do you have any insights for when the new model is being released. Also in your view would this work well for filming inside a car, for short sequences?
Hi Tamer. Yes this is my final setup. I'm now in Greece and I haven't taken anything else other than this Gimbal, dji osmo action, 4 cpl filters, 3 batteries and a wireless microfone. It all fits in a small pouch. Soooo convenient!
I walked in to Walmart here in the US and saw it behind a counter. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw a clearance sticker on it for the price of $50. I already have a GoPro but It always haunted me whether I made the right choice of choosing it over the DJI. Now I got both lol
Unfortunately there is no extra wide angle on this camera, the only way to get it is to deactivate rocksteady and dewarp. But I wouldn't do that. I'd get the DJI Osmo Action 4 instead which has an extra wide angle view
It's the pgytech, or something. I can't remember the name. There are links in the description! You can see the whole kit I recommend using. Have a look
I'd be so afraid of putting it on the helmet whole on a motorcycle. But if I did, I'd use the provided sticky adapter or a suction cup (with a paracord safety line connected to the helmet). Did you have a look at my kit in the description? There's clamps too for hooking the camera anywhere. I use a clamp to connect it to my helmet when skiing (use it with a 360 camera)
@@WishCasting yeah got to make sure it's really stuck on there. Think most people use 3M double sided when sticking it on the helmet. Will have a look and see if I can find something useful there! 😃
Osmo Pocket or Osmo Action? I Have an old Sony RX100 mk1 and I want a little camera, like an Osmo Action or Pocket for video and will buy a better camera for photography.
They are both good, but for action video, maybe the DJI osmo action is best. I'm a bit afraid of the DJI pocket. Seems so fragile. I'm old school, practical and like durable things. The DJI osmo action performs great and is super versatile. I went for that. If you happen to buy the pocket, let us know how well it performs!
@@WishCasting you are right. Watching reviews seems like the Pocket hace better image quality, but is like you said, seems fragile. I had a bad experiencie with a gimbal (home I steadyX) that developed a buzzing in the panning motor in only a pair of days. Any beating or falling in a hard surface can destroy a gimbal. I will get the Action
I also like shoving my equipment in my backpack and go out for my shoots. It can get messy and the dji osmo action is extremely durable. And the quality is insane! Picture quality too. You'll see once you buy it. It's way above average! And it has a vertical rotation feature too for pics and videos (great for the gram)
Much smaller than a dslr. Files are easy to work with in post. You need a good pc but you can still use proxies. 100mbit/s is good, high end bitrate for an action camera. You'll be happy
@@WishCasting awesome thank you! Do you have any links to the one you have? Great video as well. I just sent it to a friend that was about to get a hero9, he's getting this instead
In the description I should have the links. If not I'll do so once I get back home! I'm so happy I got some people to change their mind. Gopro needs to be more reliable, provide better products that last longer and actually work and don't freeze. They're way too money driven in my opinion. Check my kit.co in the description, there are many products I recommend for this camera and there's you'll surely not know about too :)
@@WishCasting I saw the suction cup but not the part for the dslr to be held on to. I agree gopro is awesome but way to buggy, especially when paying full price.
Updating in now. Within the next 10 min it should be within the dji osmo action kit in my description. The one I recommend isn't the most expensive, but it's the best quality/price you can get. I've dealt with smaller ones, and they simply can't hold the camera well. It gradually loses grip. The one you'll see is strong and reliable also for dslrs. It held my gh5 with mic and heavy lens no problem at all (I think something around 2.5 kg)
Hi there! Isn't that the same adapter I'm using? I'm pretty sure it's a universal type of adapter, it fits I'm pretty sure. However it constantly falls out if you hit it, you should always push it in to make sure it's making contact and picking up audio. That's the only negative side of this cage. But it's not popping out on it's own, you really gotta bump into it or brush against it by mistake to loosen it from the cage
Totally agree. BUT you forgot the most important feature of the DJI Osmo Action ...IT WORKS. It turns on and gets ready to shoot when you need to, it does not freeze, it will not corrupt or loose your files and it does not use that brick audio adapter. I just got tired of issues with my Gopros 6 and 7 so I got rid of all that crap. I dont miss them and would not buy a Gopro again. Greetings from Paraguay in So.Am.
Am very much confuse between gro pro and this dji, and I found many youtuber saying that in post process we need to do colour grade for dji where as in go pro it's not needed and am not a pro editor and have no idea abt colour grade. Can you suggest me now I need it for daily vlog like restaurants review, travel videos
All action cameras have 2 settings, FLAT profile and NORMAL Profile. The FLAT profile (d-Cineline in DJI) allows you to do color correction, dynamic adjustments of exposure, shadows, highlights and more in post, plus color grading. If you're not a pro or confident at this, simply go for the NORMAL profile. The Normal profile is an automatic interpretation by the camera in terms of colors, where saturation and vibrance is assigned by the camera automatically rather than from the user. You can still color correct and grade this footage, but you won't have great results. This option is for amateurs that don't want to waste time color correcting or grading. In addition to all this, there is another option called HDR and this will give you the automatic best settings the camera can give you, without you doing anything. The DJI osmo action does a really good job. See our HDR videos shot with this camera. They are really insane. Check our channel and associated HDR videos to make yourself an idea of how it looks like.
I took shots of each place I went to, just to show the quality of pictures, not just videos the DJI osmo action can take. It adds some spice and dynamics to the video
I liked the DJI Action from the first time I saw it and played with one in the store. They haven't dropped in price and are quite reasonable from some of the online stores.
Only osne drawback. No GPS and it is an action camera. So no speedometer in post. Also Rocksteady in cine profile is not available. Hope these will be added in future.
Glue the different parts together during the intro video or later on? We don't know when the action 2 will come out. I hope it'll be a legendary iteration though
My settings are a bit complicated, but they'll give you best results: - always use a cpl filter (great colors, reduce reflections, get the right cinematic look by doubling the frame rate with shutter speed) - always set ISO to 100 - always choose correct cpl filter to have correct exposure - always have your shutter speed double the frame rate (accordingly change cpl if it's too bright or too dark) - D-cinelike - 25/30fps if you have low light situation - 60 fps if you're going to do slow motion in post - Dewarp on - Rocksteady on If something is unclear, watch my other videos or check the video description of the videos. Settings are there. Try HDR with a Gimbal. It saves you time and you dont have to color correct/grade.
It's wifi based. No need for cables. You can use the cable but you'll need a device to transcode the signal through USB and HDMI. That's the best option (up to 4k live streaming) otherwise the dji mimo app allows 720p max. Which is appropriate for streaming but, 1080p will certainly become the new standard soon
@@WishCasting I have been using a pair of "generic 4k action cams " for a streaming show at Christmas.. Show is 7-10 hours long (camera wise) but I'd like to step it up a bit quality wise
@@WishCasting Actually I was wrong nothing has changed the GOPRO 10, it Overheats after 20 mins. Will be getting the OSMO Action 2 when it comes out in a few weeks.
Hi I'm thinking of getting this camera, would you recommend for videoing underwater, going to the Maldives 🤞 and want a reliable camera which will capture well underwater. Also what extras would you recommend me getting for shooting underwater and what settings would be best. Thanks in advance
If you're going to the Maldives you'll probably be skuba diving. I'd recommend going in the description of this video and have a look at our dji osmo action kit. From that kit I of course recommend everything, but for underwater I recommend the underwater case for deep excursions, the tightening nd filter set for cinematic shots, perhaps the red filters for best results too. Settings it depends. Do you color correct and color grade? If you do, choose D-cinelike. If not go regular video mode. In any case, I'd always go for 4k 60fps 1/120th shutter speed, ISO 100, rocksteady on, dewarp on. Then in post I would slow the footage down to 30 fps for 50% slow motion.
I was thinking of buying the hero 7! But this deal blew my mind away. Was same price or less with so many more things included! Happy to have you Louis! Canada! The country of McKinnon! Wohooo!
Yes! Absolutely! I'm in the process of creating a video about it. I'll recommend one there. A Gimbal is essential for pro video. Without it you'll always look amateurish, even if you have really stable hands. Check my cinematic hand held video to understand how it comes out without Gimbal (it's good, but not perfect without a Gimbal)
Is it possible to grab a still photos from the videos? I know you can on a GoPro via their app, just wondering if Osmo Action’s app has that function too?
Hi! I love watching your videos. I just bought mu osmo action and I was surprise I can’t use 4K 60fps with my iPad 11 and iPhone 11. Do you know how I can import 4K videos? Thanks a lot.
I think you won't be able to handle 4k video editing on your iPad. To view 4k files shouldn't be a problem though. Let me know what are your intentions so I better understand how to help you
It's great! The main difference is that it gets rid of water quicker than a gopro, and the sound is great out of water. In few seconds the audio is perfect.
Frustrated GoPro user here. Does Osmo offer any software for editing on Windows 10. I can't even move my footage to my phone without the gopro battery dying first. Thanks
I own an Osmo Action. I wonder how this compares to the Pocket 2 or any other gimbaled action cams. I was thinking of purchasing a Pocket 2. Wondering if it's worth it. Usage is personal home videos & vacations. No vlogs or youtube.
I've never used an action camera. The comments on the Amazon listing for Osmo Action camera say that DJI requires a monthly subscription fee to enable the camera, and it's no big deal because GoPro does also(?) Is this true? Maybe it's just the phone app?
No need for a monthly subscription. You just activate the camera I believe using your phone and that's it. Nothing else. It's really straight forward. You may also buy a cheap care refresh for protection/substitution of your camera. It's convenient but not necessary.
@@WishCasting Good to know. At least four reviewers of this camera on Amazon complained about DJI's subscription requirement, so I wonder what they were referring to.
Really strange! Maybe it's a regional thing. I think it's only to register the product, but if you don't want the dji care refresh, you just say that you're not interested in it and skip it, you should be able to use your product no problems at all. That's what I did

Is DJI shooting to 4K 6Fps not too hot not like GoPro 8 turn too hot…
Just watched 6 camera reviews today, this is by far the best. Well edited.
I heard a rumour the audio is in a separate file to the video, is this true? I hope not 😕
Best camera ever, despite being a 2019 model.
Don't like it
Your the sole reason im getting myself this action camera!!!! Kudos to your vlog and editing!!!!✌🏼
I'm happy about it! You won't regret it! It's such an insane camera! You'll love it!
@@WishCasting Thank you so very much!!!! This really helps!!! Ordering mine right away!!! Cheers
Enjoy it!! You'll love it! By the way how do you like the HDR feature? Did you see the colors? How incredible they are, so vivid and real
When I move files from Osmo action to Premiere Pro CC it has audio and video parts. When it´s static, I can see picture from video. When I hit play, black screen. Audio is fine. What´s going on? Codecs? I have to convert video from Osmo Action to another format before importing to Premiere Pro?
That's really strange. Did you install the latest codecs? Latest premiere pro? PC specs?
Absolutely! This camera is gold! ☺️
I went with my Osmo Action over the Hero 7/8 Black when I was deciding back then, and I couldn't be happier. It hasn't ever let me down, and shoots great footage. The fact that the Hero 9 is taking options from the Osmo Action should tell people all they need to know...
Was gonna buy a hero 7 or 9 until I realized how unreliable gopros can be
Hello. I am in between this camera and go pro 8
DJi really has the ability to create products which does not get outdated.
Ps: happy to save you some money! Why spend more for something that actually doesn't really work well and isn't worth buying.
@@WishCasting
Thank you for the fast response. Later, I will sift through your vids and the mic links. Huge help. Thank you!🛡
I'm hoping there will be news about a DJI action 2 this month!
Me too! I'm looking forward to a fixed horizon feature too! Missing in this iteration
Do you have any hind about or just rumours?
No, i don't think there will.
I know this is 2 years ago, but I'm still using mine, and it's definitely a go-to camera. Versatile and dependable.
I absolutely agree, this is the camera I use the most, everywhere :) I still didn't upgrade to the osmo action 3. Very tempted to be frank
@WishCasting I thought about it but went with the DJI Pocket 2 and love that as well.
Love my Osmo, ditched GoPro a long time ago, have both the Action and the Pocket. Lovely city and good editing…
thank you! ☺️ How's your osmo pocket? Is it better than the action?
i like your color grading... where can i download preset like that.. for lightroom or premiere
Purchased in August 2020 as my first action cam and 100% satisfied with osmo action ,, I don’t care about fov as compared to GoPro .. osmo is rock solid .. no heating or lagging issues like GoPro ..
I absolutely agree MadNixx!
@@WishCasting now waiting for Osmo action 2
Is it possible to shoot music videos by inputting audio from a small mixer directly into the camera? The built in mic doesn`t sound very good for live music.
Absolutely yes, but for that you'll need to buy the Rode Wireless Go or any other wireless transmitter microphone to send the mixer signal directly on the audio track
@@WishCasting Thanks. Gonna try it.
I'm going to do a review of the Rode Wireless Go with the DJI Osmo Action soon, I'm working on the HDR features of the camera now.
Meanwhile you can read more about the Rode on the kit I use below in the description. You'll love it! It's such a handy small device
Wow I love your editing style very cool……awesome review. I am going to ditch my very problematic gopro 9 and get one. Thanks buddy
Great video, what is there a easy way to fast edit your short video to post it right a way to social media?
Ahoj!! Where exactly? We're so close! And thanks for the wonderful comment!
@@WishCasting I'm right in the middle. But I was born and raised in Bavaria. My generation was the first that could pass the borders after the iron curtain fell. Been to Plzen in my youth many times.
During day time and good light condition, still a wonderful camera! I keep it while buying the Action 4!
And in fact, I still use it!! It really works well, and even on our 85 inch tv it looks great! There's such a big fuss over the latest best, when people could just stay with the same camera for 4-5 years and then update. Such a rush everyone has, a need to buy something new.
Pls can I use the Dji Osmo to shoot a podcast video with 4 people
can you do a review on DJI Osmo Actiion 3
whats your recommendation, buy a more battery or use powerbank?
Powerbank is heavy, inconvenient. I'd say buy 3 batteries! That's a must! And buy a triple charger to put in your backpack to charge with your power bank. I love it! I shoot so much like this! Love it!
Shall I wait for osmo action 2 or buy it now?
Great videos!
Pictures and clips in this video are so beautiful. It makes me feel so real!
thank you! ☺️!!
So I'm confused, what makes this better than the Insta360 One R? Seems like a much more versatile camera option
Are there any hints or updates about an osmo action 2?
I don't know unfortunately :/ it's been a long time now! Dji hasn't released any info, but I'm really looking forward to it!
8:16 i thought you were going to jump over the railing at first LOL
I'm crazy but.. No not that much xD
Great video, do you have any insights for when the new model is being released. Also in your view would this work well for filming inside a car, for short sequences?
Love your video, I'm a beginner and just trying to find a gear that can capture video really well with budget. Thanks for this
My pleasure! You'll love this camera. I use it all the time now. It's a video factory for me now 😁
One of the best reviews of any action camera. Very well done!
thank you! ☺️ Thank you so much for your kind comment!
How well does it do if you are running and vlogging ? It's like to know how stable it is if I am running and talking to the camera. Thanks.
On the bike it's like flying! Running is insane too! I'll do some tests and do a comprehensive video about it as soon as I can
Would you say: this is the ultimate video & vlog camera but still have a second cam for photography?
Great videos on the DJI btw.
Hi Tamer. Yes this is my final setup. I'm now in Greece and I haven't taken anything else other than this Gimbal, dji osmo action, 4 cpl filters, 3 batteries and a wireless microfone. It all fits in a small pouch. Soooo convenient!
I've been looking at this camera for quite some time. Already have the dji osmo mobile 3. Great review.
Thanks a lot! Gimbal + HDR is such an incredible deal. No editing necessary. That's what us video makers need. Less editing more filming
@@WishCasting I couldn't say it better myself. I'm Definitely going to purchase one of these
I walked in to Walmart here in the US and saw it behind a counter. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw a clearance sticker on it for the price of $50. I already have a GoPro but It always haunted me whether I made the right choice of choosing it over the DJI. Now I got both lol
Wait what?! You paid 50 for the dji osmo action?!
$50!!! What??
Clearance Sale 50$? 😍😍😍
What?!? That is insane!
Dude that time-lapse at @12:08 looks absolutely incredible.

How to get wide angle view,? You change the lens? If yes what lens
Unfortunately there is no extra wide angle on this camera, the only way to get it is to deactivate rocksteady and dewarp. But I wouldn't do that. I'd get the DJI Osmo Action 4 instead which has an extra wide angle view
What's that mic and cage you have? mine doesn't have a shoe mount
It's the pgytech, or something. I can't remember the name. There are links in the description! You can see the whole kit I recommend using. Have a look

Hi, does the camera's front screen gets moist n fogs up after the device get heated. . . ?

Yes
How do you save your videos on to the phone?
Not sure! I don't do it, but I'm sure it's easy to do. Just like with gopro.
It's on sale now 30% off, looking for a camera I can record when riding my motorcycle. Might go for it then!
So lucky! Go for it! You won't regret it! When done using it for a while, let us all know how much in love with it you are (or hate it :D)
@@WishCasting Haha will do! Just placed an order now I just need to find some good accessories to mount the camera to the helmet 😃
@@Skuggan91 what site?
Do you suggest this for
Motovlogging ?
I suggest it for almost everything (except commercial videos for clients of course)
I also like putting a pancake lens on my gh5. It's like a higher quality dji osmo action (but bigger). I'll do a video about it
How are the file sizes with 4k 60fps
Much smaller than a dslr. Files are easy to work with in post. You need a good pc but you can still use proxies. 100mbit/s is good, high end bitrate for an action camera. You'll be happy
What do you use with the Delkin fat gecko to hold onto your dslr? Seems like there is an extra attachment but I cant figure it out.
It's a tripod ball head! Quite expensive but totally worth it! Makes everything easier and more flexible!
Hi mate, the PGYTECH cage - does it allow enough space to fit the CYNOVA Mic Adapter? Cheers!
@@WishCasting Thanks mate. Would you recommend it as a motovlogging solution?
Totally agree. BUT you forgot the most important feature of the DJI Osmo Action ...IT WORKS. It turns on and gets ready to shoot when you need to, it does not freeze, it will not corrupt or loose your files and it does not use that brick audio adapter. I just got tired of issues with my Gopros 6 and 7 so I got rid of all that crap. I dont miss them and would not buy a Gopro again. Greetings from Paraguay in So.Am.
excellent review thanks, did you have any issues activating the camera?
Such a brilliant review Thank you for sharing
Best Oslo action review period Thank you.
Super kind! ☺️
thanks... I had setled on one, but this vid helps to feel good about it.
"stable" "Stable -Ization" "Stay-bl-eye-zation"... sorry a bit OCD on that...
😁😂
7:45 How do you do that? I'm guessing the cover is removable? Don't really want to break this one since it's newly bought.
Do think any new model or updated version of DJI action camera will come in this year ?
They might! And that will drop the price for this one even more. I'm curious to see what they come up with!
Just curious, was there a reason why 99% of your panning shots are from photos with movement added in post?
I took shots of each place I went to, just to show the quality of pictures, not just videos the DJI osmo action can take. It adds some spice and dynamics to the video
how is the microphone?
Above average! But I recommend buying the rode wireless go or lensgo microphones to have good good audio

🟥
Does this camera work with voice command on/off? Also does it record 15sec or more prior to activating recording?
There are voice commands to switch it off, but not on. It doesn't record prior hitting record. That's a very phone oriented feature
6:02 this is my favorite. "A microphone with a dead cat"
Works really well! But it's huge and heavy as a solution! I'm 100% rode wireless go now eheh
I liked the DJI Action from the first time I saw it and played with one in the store. They haven't dropped in price and are quite reasonable from some of the online stores.
They drop the price significantly on some occasions on Amazon. I got it for a super crazy price but, you need to be patient :)
Only osne drawback. No GPS and it is an action camera. So no speedometer in post. Also Rocksteady in cine profile is not available. Hope these will be added in future.
I hope they add those features too! But rocksteady is available in d-cine profile. I use it all the time
@@WishCasting i upgraded the firmware and it works. Now just GPS. Waiting for a new launch.

Glue the different parts together during the intro video or later on? We don't know when the action 2 will come out. I hope it'll be a legendary iteration though
@@WishCasting in the post editing afterwards ...
Awesome video bro. I just bought this last month. But I m struggling to shoot in best settings. Can you please share ur settings and tips.
My settings are a bit complicated, but they'll give you best results:
- always use a cpl filter (great colors, reduce reflections, get the right cinematic look by doubling the frame rate with shutter speed)
- always set ISO to 100
- always choose correct cpl filter to have correct exposure
- always have your shutter speed double the frame rate (accordingly change cpl if it's too bright or too dark)
- D-cinelike
- 25/30fps if you have low light situation
- 60 fps if you're going to do slow motion in post
- Dewarp on
- Rocksteady on
If something is unclear, watch my other videos or check the video description of the videos. Settings are there. Try HDR with a Gimbal. It saves you time and you dont have to color correct/grade.
The stabilization is real good but not better than the gopro?
Does this camera allow you to zoom in and out while recording video?
Does it have the ability to become a webcam? Streaming?
Yes you can do that! Using the dji mimo app!
but there doesn't seem to be any wired outputs
It's wifi based. No need for cables. You can use the cable but you'll need a device to transcode the signal through USB and HDMI. That's the best option (up to 4k live streaming) otherwise the dji mimo app allows 720p max. Which is appropriate for streaming but, 1080p will certainly become the new standard soon
@@WishCasting I have been using a pair of "generic 4k action cams " for a streaming show at Christmas.. Show is 7-10 hours long (camera wise) but I'd like to step it up a bit quality wise
Go pro 10 will be the king when it comes out ?
It depends, if the product works 99% of the time then yes. GoPro 9's like rolling dice.
*subbed* much love from Vancouver Canada 🇨🇦 I got the hero 7 but I enjoyed this one
I was thinking of buying the hero 7! But this deal blew my mind away. Was same price or less with so many more things included! Happy to have you Louis!
Canada! The country of McKinnon! Wohooo!
Awesome video! I like the HDR video feature, but it's missing the rock steady... do you recommend a certain gimbal for the Osmo Action?
Yes!
Thanks for the review, bro. Excellent! I will definitely be buying this soon.
This or pocket 2?
Osmo action, cheaper, more versatile. Less accessories to buy too
Did you use any post sharping process in your 3 min video?
Let me know what are your intentions so I better understand how to help you
how is it underwater compare to GoPro?
It's great! The main difference is that it gets rid of water quicker than a gopro, and the sound is great out of water. In few seconds the audio is perfect.
I only use this camera and I'm super happy! 😍 The only things I really would like it to have are horizon leveling and zoom..
I absolutely feel the same! Dji osmo action 2 will probably soon come out. And it'll surely feature this!
Great review and superb editing...

Frustrated GoPro user here. Does Osmo offer any software for editing on Windows 10. I can't even move my footage to my phone without the gopro battery dying first. Thanks
I have decided to buy this one instead of a Gopro or anything cheaper to film for my travel channel. :) This video helped me make this decision.
So happy to have helped you! Also to save you some money! ☺️
That's what I did
is it water proof without external casing?
