Great job on this video! I love building these cvt units. Watch the bearing they go bad often.
Great video - EXCEPT for the dubbed in "Music" Silence would be so much better!
Can I put a tr580 out of a 2015 crosstrek into a 2013 crosstrek
CAN ANYONE GIVE SOME TIPS???
I have a JACt40 CVT hard to identify the B.O.
It has the mechanical operation of the CVT exchange in days, it does not make noise and does not slip, apparently there is no lack of pressure.
the customer reports that he has started to experience the defect sporadically.
after normal use of the car, just after turning off the ignition key, when the customer tries to use the car again
The car shows a defect in the panel, and does not pull any gear. however with angus minutes or sometimes hours it works again.
the last time it had this defect, it never came back... the curiosity is, because only sometimes, but not during long trips,
and not malfunction while the car is running
only after it is turned off, and the worst, just come back alone
already checked:
valve body
trasnmission center mode (TCM)
transmission oil
diagnosis (FAILURE IN COMMUNICATION WITH CANTRAL)
There is no stepper motor on this model.
Its possible to rebuild a 2013 subaru legacy transmission somebody told me that is impossoible to rebuild because subare does not sale repair kits
Hi Sergio - 2013 Legacy could have a 5EAT, TR580, or TR690 Transmission. We have an Overhaul Kit for each of those applications! Please visit www.transtec.com
Those thrust bearings look abysmal, but hey I guess they get the job done.
hello and thanks for the awesome video, im having problems with my tr580 cvt, the mechanics said that its because the gear connecting the cvt to front diff are worn, can you help me name those parts? the gear that connect front diff and cvt? the part number would also be helpful, thanks in advance
I would like this information too, did you ever figure it out?
@@kristapietila8390 turns out its just the cvt bearing thats worn out and needs to be replaced, sadly i still didnt know the part number because i fixed it at a local transmission shop not at subaru service center
@@dvine_hoshi was it making a horrible grinding noise, just as any bad bearing usually does? If so, was it pretty normal otherwise, driving and performing as it should? Im looking at replaceing my cvt for the 2nd time and can't remember exactly where the 1st one failed. I'm hoping to repair the two of them into one goos one.
Great video! By the way what's the maximum torque that the TR580 can handle?
Wikipedia mentions 250Nm
Was there atf oil filters in this ? I think I missed it
do you know if a TR580GD6AA will work in a 2012 which has a TR580GD5AA
Hello and thank you so much for this video it's very informative.
maybe you can help me with finding the CVT fluid in Europe (spain) because I can't find it in any Subaru dealer or even online.
Thank you
Good Day, we suggest inquiring with a Subaru dealership to see if they will sell you fluid. Best of luck.
Doesn’t this rebuild require a relearn procedure? Subaru SSM3 very expensive. Thanks
CVT transmissions do require a relearn procedure. Usually a dealership or specialist can perform this service.
Hello
I have problems with my tr580 I am from RD and I am failing the torque converter with the p2764 code ... here I have no options to fix that and the parts are very expensive. They tell me that I have to change valve box or transmission ...
My car is a 2012 impreza, I was thinking of doing it manually or if there is another subaru transmission that works
Alan, We handle the sealing kits and some hard parts for Transmission. Maybe reach out to ATRA or ATSG for diagnostic codes. Thanks!
@@1TransTec There are solenoid available now online, solenoid always goes bad. You can also use a primary up or down solenoid from a used valve body.
hi this is very informative...but i need to ask is there any other gearbox that's compatible with a TR580FHDBA or i need to find that exact no...?. it's in a 2012 subru Outback
All of the “TR580” Subaru transmissions were essentially the same, until they added Start/Stop in the last few years. The “FHDBA” is a code specific for the combination of engine, transmission, programming, and platform, ultimately you would want to look for an exact match to the code.
Thank you very much for the video! Tell me please, can I install TF690 instead of TR580? Subaru XV (crosstrek) 2.0
No they are not, TR690 is a larger torque capacity and larger unit that would not fit. Also, the configurations for these 2 transmission are different.
@@1TransTec thank you very much!
Hey guys great work there i need more info on something mind sharing your contacts? thanks.
Annoying "music" though.
Whoever put the music in this video should be fired. 😆
Question, If I'm changing the transmission fluid and a TR580 body, can I drain and measure the fluid, then remove the valve body and fill the fluid from the top (valve body cavity)? I would think it would be a lot easier to do it that way. Thanks
I work in the subaru and this movie has helped me
Great! That's what we like to hear. Subscribe and keep watching!
Do you guys sell rebuilt TR580's? I checked the website, just saw parts but not complete CVT
Jim - some of our distributors do have them available. Please send me an email suzanne.mintue@fnst.com with more detail about where you are located and we will see what we can do!
Overall good video. I would like to see just a slightly longer pause on some of the key parts before they are set aside. For several components I can't see what it looks like and is only on screen for less than 1 second. It's hard to see even when using frame by frame control.
Does the primary pulley slide along the shaft freely when you sit it upright?
remove the music & Improve the resolution then 10/10 :-)
