Borscht Recipe (Mennonite)

  • Ingredients:
    2 pounds beef, with soup bone
    2 carrots
    1 medium head of cabbage
    1 onion
    2 cups canned tomatoes
    6 whole pepper kernels
    1 bay leaf
    A few sprigs of dill
    1/2 cup chopped beets
    Cut up into bite size pieces, if needed. Put in a pot and just cover with beef broth. Simmer until the vegetables are tender. Serve with sour cream.
