5 Worst Cheap Hotels on the Las Vegas Strip

- The top 5 worst cheap hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. Thinking of booking a cheap hotel in Las Vegas? You might want to reconsider if it's one of these hotels! Las Vegas has some amazing luxury hotels, and then it is also some really really awful hotels. Based on tripadvisor rankings, I walk through the five worst cheap hotels on the strip.
5. Excalibur Hotel:
$27/night
3.5 Stars with 3,588 Reviews
The Excalibur is big and soulless. The problems are with the size of the hotel, its a giant over 4500 rooms, many rooms have awful views in to the depressing courtyard. Long check-in lines… often waits of 45 minutes The whole hotel has a musty/smoky smell, that you don't get in other Las Vegas Strip hotels.
4. Hooters Hotel
$28/night
3 Stars with 3,646 Reviews
The Hooters hotel is very dated. Looks like it hasn't been kept up since it was built. They could at least do better with cleaning with a facility this run down. It was slightly better than a Motel 6. Starting Advertised room price of $36 become almost $60 at booking checkout the to additional $27 per night as resort fee. This hotel is in desperate need of renovation. The only glimmer of hope was the food and the hospitality staff inside of the Hooters restaurant.
3. Travel Lodge Center Strip
$67 / night
3 stars with 1,079 Reviews
If you're interested in a location in the heart of Las Vegas: this is perfect. If you care about feeling safe, clean room and nice surroundings: the don't stay at the Travel Lodge Las Vegas Center Strip. The windows looked like someone had try to pry them open in the past. I did not feel safe in this hotel. The corners of the hotel inner courtyard were used as urinals by pedestrians of the strip crossing the hotel entrance.
2. Travel Lodge Las Vegas
$37 / night
3 Stars with 537 Reviews
The Travel Lodge Las Vegas hotel has a good location right next to the Circus Circus hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. However, it has nothing else. You get what you pay for so don't be expecting much. The outside stairs coming from downstairs to the second floor smelled like human urine.
1. Circus Circus Manor Motor Lodge
$19.80 / night
2.5 Stars with 295 Reviews
Located in the back of the Circus Circus hotel, the Circus Circus manor rooms are extremely old and run down. The place is filthy , the carpet is disgusting . The windows on the doors are dirty filthy. The wallpaper in the halls is peeling off and looks nasty. A step above a homeless shelter. Entire hotel has a wet smell to it.

Yeah tear these value resorts down and make it so expensive that only is rich white people can enjoy. Thank you for this awesome white privilege video.
Yellow Productions do people have to remodel you no so don’t judge Escalebur 🙄🙄🙄🙄!!!!!!!
Dr. David Walter Aguado how are u a dead Man U in a body
All the hotels there charge resort fee
Prices are way off. The prices flux greatly
I got mugged in Vegas, when the attacker saw that I had a room key for the Circus Circus he apologized and gave my wallet back.
Hah!
You're a liar. Circus Circus or any other hotel hasn't has room keys in over 10 years
Ouch
They'll do that, unless they're staying at the Travel Lodge.
😄😄
The bottom line is you get what you pay for. PERIOD. "The room smells like smoke"???? All of Las Vegas smells like smoke.
I know right tht was stupid lpl
😂😂😂😂
yes ..now smells like Marijuana... and this comes from the guests.
There is a fine to be charged. If the guest smokes inside the room, they are not smoking floors.
It has a floor for smokers.
Nah, all rooms are smoke free now...so no dont be bitter because you stay at bottom shit hotels
Yea.When I went to a hotel.It smells like smoke
You get what you paid for. It cracks me up that somehow people expect luxurious accomodations for $19 a night.
For most cities I would agree but in Vegas I've actually paid that for rooms and had really nice ones (not at those properties though. Ick). I'm not a high roller either, I don't even gamble but still have found amazing deals in the last 10 years for rooms on the Strip and downtown.
Actually during the off season you can get great hotels.
Listening to you read these reviews with just the amount of emotion/dry delivery is just slaying me right now. Cracking up and you’re just destroying me.
Have you stayed at some awful Las Vegas strip hotels? Maybe one of these? Or did I miss another awful cheap hotel that should've been in this list?
Yellow Productions Do you recommend the real circus towers?
Gaga Rules. Stayed at CC Towers many many years ago. Rooms were decent, average cheap hotel rooms. Felt safe in tower room and restaurants/casino were close and convenient. Was also fun to walk through the circus upstairs, with a carnival-like atmosphere, restaurants, food/drink booths, arcades, and real circus acts. Still have the Pink Panther stuffed toy a date won for me at one of the CC arcades--an antique for sure!
JJ D Thank You!
You missed the best value inn worst hotel ever
Yellow Productions Thank you for calling out the Circus Circus manor. Awful "hotel" and as far away from the strip as you can get with a 20 minute walk from the main hotel lobby to any room. WORST of all, the hotel doesn't mention its existence so you think you booked a room in the main hotel until you go to check in
This is an excellent video. As an ex-Lss vegas resident who worked in various hotels, you're right on the money. I used to feel so bad telling people about the resort fee. Always make sure you ask that when you're getting a room. People would complain about the room smelling like pot (this was center strip hotels). I didn't feel safe driving home late at night. Anyway, cheers to you. You give great information.
Thank you so much for sharing this information.
I just bought a $3 bottle of wine. I can not believe it doesn't taste as good as a $50 bottle!
exactly what this video is...
Yes, you get what you pay for. If you want Wynn quality and luxury, you need to book a room at the Wynn. Do not compare apple and oranges.
Don’t laugh: I’m sure this was a dream vacation compared to how some of their customers live
But it still shouldn't have bugs in them?
if you pour enough sugar in it, it does!
I stayed at the Excalibur last week and had hella fun. It's a Medieval theme hotel, I get it.
I love the Excalibur! It’s supposed to look old! It’s a medieval castle for goodness sakes! It’s awesome! And lots of places in Vegas smell like marijuana now...lol! Even the Bellagio room hallways smell like pot sometimes! Sheesh! People are too uptight! And if you want a great view, book a room with a view of the strip! It’s really not that hard!
Jennifer Niece do you want a cookir
Eddie W are you ok
Same but it was a month ago
i stayed at the Excalibur 3 times and it was more than ok every time..
Great video! Love the narration!
I watched several of your videos about various places. I am going to Las Vegas in a few weeks and you have really helped me find some cool places. I now need to make some Las Vegas videos when I go since you inspired me lol.
Thanks Wutaii! :)
@@YellowProductions Thank you !!!
@@NostalgiaMan hi, did u go and did u make any videos??
@@Argiedan Yea I have some up but I need to go back because I almost got kicked out of Caesars Palace for filming without permission lol.
@@NostalgiaMan i have seen everywhere sssnipet wolf like her vids also seen your on the swee5 channel do you like ther music i do and love vintage music
I live here in Vegas and the thing you must remember is unlike other cities, there is a steady influx of visitors 365 days a year. Not just weekends or holidays, etc. So when you go to a cheap hotel, remember that you will be there with the families with 5 screaming kids, drug addicts and pushers, street prostitutes, loud drunks, etc. Places with low room rates aren't in it for service, they are in it for money. So they don't put any $$ into maintenance, upgrades, etc. As the room rates go higher you are not only paying for nicer properties, you are paying for better service and better company, to be frank.
well said.
Paying $19/night for a room in central Las Vegas and being surprised at the horrible experience is like paying 19¢ for a Happy Meal imitator then being surprised at getting rancid mystery meat and sawdust bread. (But I did enjoy the video and think you did a great service for humanity.)
I like that last comment, " One step above a Homeless Shelter ". hahaha! That was a good one!
I stayed at the Excalibur and loved it. I would always go back there. Big pool, clean rooms, friendly staff and we had a great view.
I'd generally stay away from anything with "Manor Motor Lodge" in the name
Well said Chad!
Chad Mower 😂😂😂💯💯💯💯
Anything with “Manor” in the title has to be a craphole. But for a great hotel experience, try the “Hotel Coral Essex” in Ft. Lauderdale.
Sounds like a horror flick.
Used to go to Vegas every other month with my parents and stayed at the cc motorlodge. In the 90s it wasn't bad.
Two stays at the Excalibur a few year ago. Perfectly fine for my needs. Never waited more the 10 min to check in. Nice room overlooking the airport. Nice to watch the planes take off and land. Easy access to the other hotels around. You get what you pay for.
Excalibur has definitely tanked
Great video. I've been to Vegas 17 times. I have heard such nightmare stories about Circus Circus, I never even bothered visiting the casino. And who wants to pay $20 a night for a room? I always have stayed at the top Strip hotels, and I usually got good deals, depending on the time of year. Yes, you get what you pay for! And Encore, Wynn, Caesars, and TI are totally worth it! I love these people who say they don't need the electric controlled blinds or whirlpool tub - well, I do! That is why I go on vacation! I want luxury and Vegas has it - and you can get decent deals.
Always loving your quote’s Chris!! 😂
I have stayed at Excalibur twice and i have never waited longer than 10mins for check in. Also the rooms were very nice and pillows were amazing
really? why does it end up on the shithole hotel list then?
Bob johnson dont know but its a nice hotel. Pool is really nice.
oh ya, I think I'm gonna stay at Caesars Palace or the Wynn :o)
Bob johnson stay were the fuck you want. For the strip its cheap
Leon Delgaudio I had a the same experience when I stayed at the Excalibur. My room had the most comfortable bed of any hotel and it was very quiet. I’ll definitely stay at Excalibur in the future
Thanks for this upload I'm going to Vegas in august and I doing my research on hotel rooms.
I like these kind of videos. It's interesting to see other people stay at different kind of hotels.
Personally I think I'll be winding up at the Wynn next time I go. Worth the price :D
SUPERB. How refreshing it is to see someone with a sense of humor and who knows how to create an interesting and informative video with perfect narration.
Thanks Don!
I live in Vegas and you are right on, these are the worst hotels here, along with Circus Circus. Its because its cheap as our nice hotels cost around 150 plus a night. They should blow these hotels up and rebuild.
It's clear the owners of the Travelodges and Motor Lodge are just waiting for the right developer to sell out to, so they let the buildings deteriorate until they get the right offer when the time is right for the developers. My landlord was doing the same thing with my last apartment building.
This just in: the center strip Travelodge was just sold along with the adjacent Hawaiian marketplace and will probably be demolished.
Great video. Some people want to know where the cheap eats are glad you showed us rather than other videos where those people show us very high end restaurants that not everyone can afford while in Vegas.
I really like Excalibur. I have stayed here many times (stayed in February 2020) and enjoy the pool and the theming. The rooms were clean. (Loves the mattress)We stayed on a higher floor and the food court and dragon dungeon was a lot of fun. I think it needs some sprucing up but it’s definitely got a lot of good left to offer if they out money in it.
Been living here over 50 years. In the 70s and 80s Las Vegas was the place to come. Eating was cheap and good. Drinks were free if you were gambled. Rooms were reasonable.
But today, everyone wants your money, and they’ll get it all!!!!
But one thing for sure, it is an exciting place to come. A lot of fun, but you’ll pay for it.
Your videos are very good and you do your homework!!!!
@ t mac I lived there in the 80's, Eastern and Warm Springs was nothing but a stop sign and a 7-11. I remember Eastern out to Henderson curved around a telephone pole. I also remember the Excalibur being built and have photos circa 88 (?) of the lower half built. Sad to see all the development and what the city has turned into. People of today sure missed out on what it was, just like I missed out on what it was in the 50's and 60's.
"...if you were gambled"
Oh my god, in the 70s and 80s, people could gamble you?
Lol, kidding. I know what you meant. =)
+studio effects I missed that era too. Of course then the downtown area was the place to go, now it's the place to avoid. Most of the Strip as we know it now, was just a few hotels and a lot of dirt.
I don't get the excitement part at all. Las Vegas strip is a terrible, overpriced depressing shit hole of a place. Some parts of the city are OK, but nothing to rave about.
Excalibur is wonderful to families with kids, I loved the theme keeps me coming back. I do not expend too much time in the room, also the restaurants are good. Thanks for the review.
Thank you for your advices!
This was educational and entertaining.
I never realized how cheap some rooms can be in Vegas. I stayed at the Paris, the last time I went there. It's located right in the middle of the Vegas strip. The room was very nice. Price was very high though. I kept winning at the roulette table while there. So that paid for everything.
I stayed at the Excalibur and actually enjoyed it the room was clean we had good access to the outside world very quickly I don't remember checking in taking any longer than maybe 5 minutes and the greatest part was we had a really good view of New York New York across the way.
I didnt mind it but we had a trash view and took forever to check in everything else I didnt mind
Peter Stawicki
I like the Castle, too! I’m afraid they’ll “TI” it, Luke they did to Treasure Island or, worse”Monte Carlo” it (change it’s theming altogether).
@@northshore1000 I stayed at park mgm, was soulless
I stayed there once for one of the first concerts held at the then-new T-Mobile Arena. I guess I just lucked out with the room because I was fascinated by being able to watch all the busses and trucks pull up the day of. But I really don't like LV and truly did only come for the concert, so even though I had absolutely no issues with the room or the amenities, I'm probably not the most well-rounded reviewer out there.
How did I also get so lucky when I stayed there, everything I had was preddy good. Couldn't complain, cept for an employee lolz, had a blast.
Impeccable presentation! Great analysis skills.
Thanks Gerald!
Was just at excalibur. Disagree 100% with the entire narrative here.
I first stayed in Vegas in 1989 in a Best Western which was where the Excalibur carpark is now Excalibur was not quite finished then in OCT 1989 so is due for demolition now as we saw it in 2014 and didnt think much of it then.
Excalibur is nice
@Yea Ok lol nothing wrong with my standards.
I'm surprised you said only the cheap hotels have the hotel fees when they all have them. The Four Seasons, Bellagio, Skylofts At MGM Grand (over $4,000 dollars for a 4 night stay has a $39 a night hotel fee).
Awesome videos keep it up
Great Video !!!!
$19 per night, you should know you're not getting a Caesar's Palace type room!
That’s how much you have to Pay to ride Bug Apple Coaster
The CP is nothing to write home about. It’s just as bad as these!
The Travelodge put the Cops/Badboys theme in my head
Hah
You reading these reviews had me in tears, so hilarious
I love Las Vegas! I'm glad you mentioned the Travel Lodge.
I Stayed at the Excalibur hotel in October my first trip to Vegas. The floor I was on was the 3rd floor. The room was decent but no view. The staff was nice and i didn't smell smoke or anything. I had a decent stay there
Room at Hooters $36.00
Resort Fee To Use Pool $26.00
Hooker & Champagne $75.00
Experience - Priceless
Guided Meditation You sure don't need a meditation for that priceless experience! 😂
hooker for $75... no way? lol
She's a very very affordable one. There's one for every budget?
U forgot the coke
I prefer pepsi myself :O)
I was born in Compton and I now live in the hood in Baltimore. I stayed one night at the Excalibur and the experience terrified me.
Attracted to dirty slums are you??
I’d love to hear what happened😂😂
Brilliant comment hahahahahaha the best!LOL
Lmao
Excalibur does need a renovation.
Hit the bars ( hard) before you check in, problem solved.
Hell yeah, make any hotel room a palace by getting shit-faced just prior
Hahahah good one!
Great to see Circus Circus still there, it was well known to me from the UK as a complete dump back in the last century. Last time in Vegas I was at The Palms, it was just opened and I couldn't fault it on price an quality. I flew in from Bangkok and I checked the daily temperature on line, it said 30°, great I thought as I packed summer clothes. When I got there I found out you lot are still in the dark ages with Fahrenheit and it was below freezing. My hire car was so far away from the hotel that I couldn't make it for 3 days without being frozen, I had come from 40°C which is 104°F! Thinking about coming back soon, or I might just go to Macao instead. Best hotel room ever there in the Venetian. Thanks for the video,
hahaha your videos are so cool :D thanks for sharing :)
You pay crap, you get crap. I stayed at the Marriott Grand Chateau. It was magnificent.
Thanks for the heads up
"You'll know your there when it gets really really depressing..." Ha! Stayed at Circus Circus about 25yrs ago in one of the towers and it was a crap hole then. But Circus Circus in general is oddly charming in a tacky sort of way.
The Hooters Casino/Hotel is what you get when you buy a dying property (San Remo Hotel/Casino) and not put much money into refurbishment and instead rely on name recognition.
Three years ago we stayed at Springhill Suites by Marriott. No resort fee and a wonderful free breakfast. One block off the strip but the busses stopped up the block.
I like the Springhill too!
I remember when the Excalibur was being built. Hard to believe it’s outdated. Everyone said that once it was built rooms in Vegas would be $10 due to an over abundance.
$10 with a $50 resort fee :)
Lmao!
We didn't stay in a room at Excalibur, but we had a terrible experience gaming there. We weren't being paid out correctly, finally got our money, and never returned.
It amazes me how many iconic hotels have been demolished over the years yet they allow all the dumps on this this list to remain. It seems much of the strip still needs a makeover.
Wow! How have I not seen this one before? I agree with everything you say here and I love how you describe the Excalibur as "soulless"! Hahaha. I think people who pay $19 for a night in a hotel shouldn't expect much, though. Congrats on almost half a million views!
Thanks Morgan! That's definitely true.. you pay for what you get!
Very unOfficial Travel Guides Vegas is a Dump.. All the "Cheep" 19 or 30 dollar rooms habe Resort fees, Atm fees, Parking fees, Cleaning fees and More. its a Giant Rip Off
@@YellowProductions who r u to complain? Try rating the Colorado belle in Laughlin, now that's the worst. Stop trashing Excalibur, people prefer this hotel over mgm grand, u must be a rich boy who likes expensive hotels
kimmy cuthbert yeahs I've stayed at both and didn't mind the Excalibur. stayed there many times. think worst I've stayed is circus circus .
@@kevinroulette the WORST I've stayed at is the colorado belle in laughlin, it stinks
Late November rates are abnormally low. We usually go Thanksgiving week to celebrate our anniversary. Very low rates except possibly on Thanksgiving night. On our 2017 visit, found hotels changed their buffet prices, essentially doubling them. This was true at the Wynn, and Cosmopolitan. What they do do is combine breakfast and lunch into a brunch all week, and charge a premium price. Unfair. There were fantastic deals that week though. Examples are Wynn, Venetian, Palazzo, Caesars. Get a deal that includes breakfast every day. My buddy stayed at the Mirage that week. $65 included buffet for two each day. Resort fee added of course.
I love your video very very much have a nice day
Thanks Athena!
When I stayed at the Excalibur a couple years ago I went to take a bath and the faucet shot off and water went up ...Lucky i was able to turn off the water
Nearly doubling the stated room-rate with a BS 'resort fee' is a ridiculous & shameful scam that should simply be outlawed.
Yup
It's a tax thing. It was most certainly pushed into law, doubt they will go back on them
"It smells of smoke"
Considering you can smoke in every casino there, wouldn't that be the case for all of them?
KuBi1337 yes but all the new hotels have commercial air filter so it's not to noticeable
Wasn't the case in Tropicana (literally opposite excaliber)
KuBi1337 Most
In casinos in Vegas you have to pay to smoke in the casino
Considering they blatantly mention this NOT being the case I recommend actually paying attention while watching...
Staying at OYO in November which is the old Hooters. Hopefully they updated it a little bit!
I stayed there a year ago and it was totally fine
They didn't renovate anything yet, just changed the sign.
Please do a vid like this every year, and see if there are more hotels that should be in this list, or maby they have improved!
And also please do vids on most affordable hotel on the strip, or maby right next to it. Considering all the fees, location, pool and so on...
thank you!!!
Hi Atilla.. I plan to do a "best value" hotel video next time I visit Vegas
@@YellowProductions Thank you!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤
I think I recognize some of these properties from episodes of _Cops_ . That should tell you something.
Well said, Fred. . .
It tells me that...crime exists everywhere...
I worked front desk at Circus Circus for awhile, we would often upgrade guests to main building rooms because the manor was so empty they couldn't justify keeping it open.
I'm surprised they haven't demolished it yet. I heard they were gonna do it a couple of years ago but they canceled that for some reason.
I agree with you on the Excalibur....hubby and I had 7 nights booked there we spent one night then checked out....it was horrible!
For anyone wanting a good Vegas experience and doesn’t mind being off the strip I’d definitely recommend Sunset Station. I’ve stayed there two times and am going back next month and it’s been great every time. It’s just like all your other Vegas hotels with a buffet, restaurants, shops, a bowling alley, I think a movie theatre too, and what not. Really good food at the international buffet, nice staff and what not, rooms are nice and clean. The one downside which is never too big a problem anyways is the location. It’s out in Henderson so you’re a ways off the strip and what not but it’s also nice to be away from all the action, but in a spot where ya still see it from your room. I’m only 16 so I don’t much about the casino other than it looks nice and has that classic over the top, smells like a cigarette Vegas casino feel.
Thanks for the suggestion!
I like your videos, but im bummed that you litteraly just read reviews from trip advisor. I was expecting to see you walk into the rooms and such. Also where is the yellow shirt!
It would of been to stay, then do his own reviews.
+VicandDes Sorry.. I don't actually want to stay at any of these places! :). The yellow shirt will be back. I did more videos on this trip than I had clean yellow shirts :)
I feel like he put in as much effort as the hotels themselves. I think it fits the theme. Hahaha! A for effort!
There's youtubers that do that for you already. I believe one of them is Dan Bell.
VicandDes yeah dummy. He is gonna rent the rooms and. Review it. Idiosa
Its certainly changed from the 1980s, when you could get cheap accommodation, cheap food, cheap drinks free cards, hats, mugs, the casinos were fighting for your custom, but now with conventions, they charge you more, with resort tax or car parking fees, stay away and go somewhere nicer ,even the casinos are looking bare with empty spaces.
i hear you
Wouldn’t go to Vegas if you paid me. Many years ago, used to be good value with great inexpensive restaurants, great reasonably priced shows and drinks. NO MORE, now they only see you as a Big Dollar sign and try every scam known to smarmy accountants to part you with your money ( lest you forget, Vegas introduced the world to the giant ripoff known as Resort Fees). Vote with your wallet and go somewhere else, Vegas is an overpriced tourist trap!
FACTS 💯👌🏼
ron harrogate that’s because in the 80s people actually gambled. Today’s Vegas isn’t a gambling destination but a entertainment destination therefore why would they still give out free shit and comps to people who have zero intention on gambling at their casino
@@johnsax1445 Have to agree-much better hotels in Reno, Laughlin, etc. LV is an overpriced dump.
I'm in tears. I can barely type. This was so funny.
Very informative.
i've been to vegas..this guy aint lying...stay off the strip a couple of miles and get a regular (marriott, hilton) and pay 7 bucks for a lyft or uber to the strip...
Excalibur’s hallways look straight out of a horror movie
It does lol
pennywise woud match in these hallway.
That’s because IT IS HAUNTED if you go to the tenth floor hallway you will have the felling of being followed
Real shit lmao
@@mailenajo6762 I hate haunted hotels or haunted anything lol
Question!
My next Vegas trip, I’m thinking of staying in one of the “Go flamingo” rooms with a view of the “high roller” Ferris wheel. Is the hotel any good?
I stayed at the Flamingo 3 years ago. Meh. Not terrible, but others are better.
Damn Ive been here my whole life and never even knew those Travel Lodges existed! They need to be torn down. What a disgrace and an eyesore for guests.
Yes they exist, unfortunately. STayed at one a few years ago. Never doing that again. Nothing bad happened, but I could have stayed somewhere else for the same price I guess.
Heelix Ranier where else are the Bernie supporters supposed to stay?
Stayed at Circus Circus (main hotel though), and it wasn't bad at all- clean actually.... no complaints.
I was at the manor it was crap
Circus Circus NOT the manor is fine. My nephew and I stayed there and had no problems whatsoever.
And the rooms were big
stayed there one time ( & last time ) during one CES . . . the casino/show was cool but it was my first time i ever saw mice running down the hallways in the hotel . . . ( maybe they were upgrading )
Stayed there in 1982 for $8.
Ah! Circus Circus, as a kid you'd think this was the best place in Vegas to vacation, considering the Adventuredome, but not realizing that it was really a place your parents could afford for everyone, and still say you stayed on the Strip XD. I could still remember the crowded, noisy summers here.
+Hardrockfan21 So true!
Circus Circus was the place to be in the 70s as a kid while your parents were off somewhere throwing your inheritance away, lol
i stayed at the Circus Circus in Reno back in 1984 when I was a kid and it was ok but the food was fucking disgusting
25 years ago I said the Excalibur was beautiful at night when looking at it from my MGM a room. It was so beautiful it looked like a place you would see in heaven. Between the outside lighting and the white building it was gorgeous. When I went in to see the inside I hated the whole casino. It was very ugly and although the casino was somewhat of a new casino it looked as if it was there 20 years. Hated the place never went back. I’ve been to Vegas five time and stayed at a different place each time and loved each and everyone of them. Those casinos were LUXOR, MGM, MIRAGE, TREASURE ISLAND, & GOLDEN NUGGET. All were immaculate with very friendly staff. Las Vegas today has alot of very trashy people all over the strip selling drugs, robbing people, hookers, fights. When I was there on five different occasions there was never once bit of trouble in anyway shape of form. It’s very sad that Las Vegas is getting a bad name because of all the lowlife that are everywhere.
Love your videos! We lived in Vegas from 92-05 and haven't been back but are considering going in March. I know a lot has changed but Im curious about your thoughts on the El Cortez. Thanks!
I've actually never ventured to the El Cortez so I have no thoughts :)
@@YellowProductions Thanks anyway!
Great video thanks for the warning
The Excalibur does not deserve to be on this list! I hate it when people bash that place. It's themed after medieval times, it's supposed to be dark and dingy!!
Dave
Absolutely right! I helped with the theme........ I pooped in the hallway.
I'm with you. Excalibur was the first Vegas hotel I stayed in, so it has a special place in my heart. Also the pool area is really great for the price you pay.
Totally agreed. Last time I visited Las Vegas was last September and my family decided to stay in the Luxor because my sister in law and her husband didn't like the Excalibur. She said the rooms were old, food was average and service was not good enough. We paid double for the Luxor just to find the pools were out of service, the rooms looked old, the remote control wasn't working, I called room service twice to have the remote replaced and they would do the room but the remote was never replaced. Long story short, the staff wasn't up to par for the price we paid. We ended up walking to Excalibur's pool and casino, the staff was a lot better than Luxor's and I actually liked the place, it was far from musty, although it definitely would benefit from a new paint job and maybe new carpets here and there.
I stayed at Excalibur for new years and it was pretty good.
We love staying at Circus Circus and the Strat! They are fun!!!
As for the resort fees, they all have them lol.. But he didn’t tell you that.
Why would he have to tell you? It’s common sense.
Last 6 or so years Vegas has been doing that and it is going everywhere!
How cheap can people get? You only live once. If you go to vegas, expect to spend money. Just enjoy the expeeience.
+TheBagBalm They can get prettttty cheap! :)
Why go to Vegas to sleep? If I get a room with a nice girl yes ok 200on a sweet indeed, but if I’m in town and just partying I wanna bathe and sleep and get the fuck up out of the room. Usually that’s what these cheap hotels are for, sluts and sleep.
theres alot of broke ass cheap bastards out there that will stay in a shithole because they live in a disgusting apartment so their used to it
sleeping in someones shit
Eh, I'd rather spend that money on food, gambling, and shows. That said, I'd NEVER stay in Circus Circus.
All I can say is wow! I never realized how much of a flophouse those places were. Good video!
+OneManOneCamera Thanks! It is quite amazing how these places stay in business
I love Las Vegas thanks for share this video
Lmao.. I stayed at that Travelodge! The Travelodge Las Vegas... Wow... Hell on earth! ... We travelled from Toronto to L. A. And decided to do a 3 day road trip to Vegas impromptu so we didn't book rooms.. This was the only place that had availability when we drove in the middle of the night so we took it... I've never showered with spiders in their webs watching me before! 😂 😂. Geez.. Thanks for reminding me! Great vids yellow. Keep up the good work.
Thanks FE for validating the Travelodge placement on this list! :)
I would have to disagree with your evaluation of the Excalibur. Although it looks a little dated, it is relatively clean and well run, and the check in line is on par with what I've experienced at other hotels. I've stayed there about a dozen times myself, and while I wouldn't say it's an AMAZING hotel, it is definitely not in the same category as the Travelodge.
I've never known anyone who stays at the Excalibur to have a horror story, whereas there are many other strip hotels I've heard horror stories from (Tropicana for example).
Agreed, we stayed here last year at Excalibur and liked it better than the MGM. Room was clean and staff was great, and the lines were average from what we have seen, it was faster than the line at the MGM, that took us forever. The hotel itself does need to be updated, the carpets look old and needs new paint.
I agree. Horrible choice. It's one of the best despite the dated part. Unless you are rich and don't mind the $200 tag, This is the best value and location on the strip.
I only like treasure island or the orleans, maybe Venetian if I can get a roommate and mgm signature is really nice, all the other meh
I think The Excalibur looks pretty cool! At least it's got a consistent theme.
2enrol Excalibur is one of the oldest hotels there it should have been torn down a long time ago or at least renovated as far as Travelodge Travelodge is the worst wherever you go
This is hilarious. I clicked on this video the day before I check into The Excalibur 😂😂😂😂
Lol I’m gonna stay there when I visit Las Vegas this summer
Did you agree with his review? And if it was even worse give us the gory details :)
Excalibur is decent. It's just outdated and smells like smoke.
And did you cancel?
How was it?
i usually stay at one of the hilton properties across the highway. Between the hilton garden and home 2 properties you can find a good rate without the resort fees. The hilton provides a shuttle to the aria as well and if you are a member they give you two bottle of water.
I stayed at the Excalibur it was a very good stay and the room was beautiful I was on the 27 floor. I’m a truck driver and this place has a large parking area for trucks.
We stayed there to save a little money, but still being able to stay right on the strip. We ended up on the top floor with a strip view. Dirt cheap honestly. The windows pop out really easy so you can actually open the windows in that hotel, which I LOVED. Wasn't no balcony, but felt great getting that fresh air in the room
I laugh at the people who bargain hunt for a hotel room then proceed to dump hundreds in the casino.
lol..no shit
I guess you are assuming they all lose? Because they don't. That's why they keep coming back. If everyone lost in Vegas, no one would come after about 2 visits.
Stu West Do you also laugh at the people who bargain hunt for flights then proceed to spend thousands on a hotel or dining experience? People have preferences... if I’m fresh out of college going to Vegas for my 21st birthday, I’d book a shitty hotel to pregame and spend all of my money on the ladies and gambling. If I’m in my late 20s going for a bachelor party, I’d book a suite for my friends and spend money on getting tables at the clubs. If I’m 30 something with wife, I’d book a nice fountain view and spend money on shows. If I’m 40 something there for a meeting/conference, I’d spend the company’s money on a nice room and meals... different people have different desires...
We bargain hunt but don't gamble. Bet you dump thousands though. To each his own. Frankly how people spend their $ is no one's business.
Friend of mine gets comped a room, limo and 'escort'..when he goes to Vegas...he won't tell me how much $$$ he gambles away...
I got a good room at excalibur. Good experience.
this video is entirely wrong. the excalibur is an great place to stay on the strip. stayed countless times with excellent experiences every time. cost 1/4 of other hotels and have had the same service.
I remember staying in a mini-suite two or three times in the main tower of Circus Circus with my wife (mid-80's). Very very nice room then, and they had an excellent steak house. It was a nice fun clean place back then, even more fun was Slots-O-Fun next door.
It has and is going to be renovated!
Good Info on what to avoid
Excalibur does NOT belong on this list. It's clean, my wait to check in wasn't what he described. I've stayed at 5 different hotels in Vegas and so far Excalibur had the best AC. It's not a 5 star hotel but its a decent affordable option. Its many levels above any of the Travelodges and Circus Circus. About the only downfall of Excalibur is the location. Be prepared to walk. The best tip for hotels in Vegas is: Low-priced attracts ghetto ass people. They take care of nothing and are not clean people.
You want to talk Ghetto? Circus Circus fits the bill!
@@Supremmo Yeah its bad
LOL, that was fun to watch. We stayed several miles away and drove to the strip. The accommodations were pretty good the grounds were very nice and it was part of a timeshare.
nice to know about this ...so do tell which budget hotel will be good in las vegas strip
@Barry McCool surprising to know your reply ... i have been to las vegas in june 2014 .... i was expecting much from it but still its a good place !!!
I stayed at the Excalibur yaers ago, probably when it was sort of new, it was beautiful, loved the pool.
