The issue is that when I wanted to change from my old phone I wanted to go to the iPhone I had the choice between the iPhone SE 2020 128Gb or the iPhone XR 64Gb And I picked the iPhone SE for the chip and the size One year and half I regret it Lags, freezes, (over)heating, horrible battery life Yes I have a little phone with Touch ID and a compact device But it’s the only thing I have I really love the design and features of the iPhone 13 mini but 759€ is just too much for me So I’m stuck to wait that the price of the mini go down… and buy it when the price is reasonable for me
I decided to buy the SE 2022 and have no regrets. Addressing the main weaknesses named in this video: 1) I like the small form factor. It fits very comfortably in my pocket and is easy to control one handed. I upgraded from a very old iPhone 6 and the transition was a snap because it feels exactly the same 2) The display size is smaller, buy I dont care. I do not watch TV on my phone, nor play video games. The slightly smaller display is perfectly satisfactory. Besides, the "notch" on the newer phones would drive me crazy 3) The OLED screen on the phone 13 is somewhat brighter and has somewhat better contrast, but on a screen that small the higher resolution is meaningless as your eyes cannot physically resolve the smaller pixels unless you have supervision. 4) Facial recognition has no advantage over my fingerprint reader. I can unlock my phone just as fast and have never had any issue other than when my hands were wet, in which has I can easily unlock using my PIN. And it still worked perfectly when I was wearing a mask. The only other use for the facial recognition hardware is to make animated talking text messages, which were cute but never used. 5) The camera is the one difference that many people might consider a deal breaker, but I think the pictures from the SE's single lens are more than adequate. I dont need a separate macro lens as my close pictures are fine. I am not a professional photographer. The SE was given additional photo features that require the faster processor and they work very well. 6) I have no problem with battery life. I regularly take 3+ hour bike rides using gps mapping and will complete the ride with over 50% battery remaining. It easily lasts me all day. Here are the benefits I derived updating to the SE 2022; 1) The internal hardware was updated to match the iPhone 13. This should allow it to support all the same software and iOS updates as the iphone 13 until 2028. 2) It supports 5G cell service (though not the mmWave band which is very rarely even available). 3) Most importantly, it was very inexpensive. I personally feel it is ridiculous to pay $1k for a cell phone (especially when most people are living paycheck to paycheck). The SE costs $430. I paid the additional $50 to bump the memory to 128Gb. By switching carriers I got a $10/mo credit from 24 months. That brings the total cost of the phone to $240 or $10 per month for two years. In two years I can trade it in and get the newest iPhone. In summary, if you are like me and really dont need a large screen or super camera, the SE 2022 is a bargain.
agreed much to all your points. the reason why this reviewer extol the 13 Mini is because of that. he is a tech reviewer. he wouldn't get much interest and traffic if he's reviewing the "new" SE because his video will be one minute long, and the general users who prefer that, wouldn't care much as we do NOT need those bells and whistles jacking up the price that doesn't really matter!
I can relate to everything you said. I had an 16 gig Android phone and a ten gig tablet. I bought an I pad mini 4 with 128 gig to get into the ecosystem. I was amazingly snappy and I am enjoying using it as it not crashed once. I have a friend who has the 13. I toyed with the idea and decided the following: If I was was a heavy user on Snapchat and Tik Tok,.. the 13 would I been my next choice. But I just need a phone to make calls and check apps occasionally.. I went for the SE3 in 128 gig, since I have the I pad mini with a bigger screen. With gift vouchers I got a third off the price and I am very happy with a future proof product that fits in my pocket, plays my iTunes in the car and is just as powerful as the bigger phones. Yes, the 13 is nearly £300.00 more but is it £300.00 better than the SE3? My brother was still using an 8 plus.. He is on Snapchat, Tik Tok and Facebook all the time. He just got an 11 pro max and loves it....although I think he is mad for only getting 64 gig!!
I have the 12 mini and my wife has the 2020 SE. The points you make about the newer phones mostly carry over to the previous models and they’re spot on. The only reason I got my wife the SE is because she really doesn’t care about having the latest tech and she destroys the tech she does have. Figured I’d save a couple hundred bucks. 😂
As I own both the SE 3 and the 13Mini there’s no doubt which is the better phone. The only downside for me is the squared off sides. I find the SE 3’s curved sides far more comfortable to hold and also make it easier to pick up. Therefore I’m staying with the SE 3.
The SE 3 is a very important choice in the iPhone range for those 10% who, like me, can’t use OLED screens due to PWM problems. I’ve wished they made a Plus size SE, but I guess it might eat into the regular iPhone sales.
@@MattieK09 Pulse-width modulation - most of OLED screen regulate brightness by turning each diode on and off with different frequency. Lower the frequency - dimmer the screen. Basically, they constantly pulsate. 90% of people don't feel any discomfort but that's not the case for the rest 10%. Those people may feel a wide range of symptoms starting with a simple eye-strain and up to major migraine issues. For example, I can't use any new iPhone other than SE 2-3 or 11 because just after 5-10 minutes on OLED I get motion sickness, dizziness and sore eyes. If I use the screen for longer then I get headaches for the the rest of the day. Additionally, there are people who use OLEDs for quite some time and get regural migraines, but they don't know they're caused by the phone and think that nothing can be done. If they get a phone with ips screen all the health issues go away. And I'm very sad about that since iPhone 13 Mini is the best phone ever for me if not for the unusable screen.
@@proradus Hey. How can I find out if i’m one of those 10% percent or not? I currently have a 3+year old iphone8 and i’m looking to buy a new phone. I can’t decide if I will get an iphone se or 13 mini.
@@averageyoutubeuser2 Simplest way is to go to a store and try out the phone for at least 10 minutes (but an hour or so would be ideal). Or ask a friend with an iPhone. In many cases sensitive people feel discomfort pretty quickly, but sometimes it may take longer. Some people start to get migraines after weeks of use, but those cases are rare. And bear in mind that OLED screens are a lottery. You might be totally fine with one screen and get severe eye strain from another. Even with the same iPhone models due to various screen manufacturers.
Your points are spot on. I have the 12 Mini and I love it. It's is for communication first and not for media consumption. That is why I have a 55 inch TV. I consider carrying my phone comfortably in my pocket is more important than playing games in the school yard. The SE 2022 would be a good choice if you don't mind losing face ID which I find disturbing to use when you can't touch the phone. Apple , IMHO, is making a big mistake in dropping the Mini for the 14 model. Looks like I'll hold on to my 12 Mini for years to come and not buying a new iPhone for awhile. Along with a lot of other folks I know. Thanks.
I definitely do not regret getting a 13 mini. I got mine before the new SE came out. It’s not for everyone but for those who want something that’s smaller, I’ve loved this thing. I’ve never really noticed that I’m watching RUclips videos on a smaller screen, so I don’t really have a problem with the screen size. Something that helped me come to my decision is that when my iPhone X broke, I used an old iPhone 6 until I got a new phone, and after about two days, I loved the size, and was seriously considering a mini after that. One downside I’ve noticed is that the picture quality isn’t great when your taking photos zoomed in. I’m a photographer and didn’t really consider how the quality of the photos would be affected. Don’t get me wrong, it takes good photos, but when you zoom in, it kind of tries to blur things together and makes it look like a poorly rendered 1999 Game. It’s not a dealbreaker in the slightest, but its just something that doesn’t quite meet what I was expecting. Definitely look into getting one of these if your considering getting a new phone.
oh shit, i like your opinion on the camera side. all has been said that flagship phone cameras these day are already good enough to replace a proper camera but when i zoom like beyond 3x on normal 3x iPhone 12 camera it just blurry like oil painting
13mini red128 is my go to Jason bro, all the se1/2/3 are all too slippy, the could have flattened out the roundy edge and sides of the 8/se123 for a miracle difference for grip and it would be abit more appealing, I’m gonna wait for the green 512gb mini to go down a small bit and pay in HKD for it.. rock on Jason bro
Upper chin and lower chin is almost 10 percent each of total height. If they narrow down upper chin to 3 percent for just camera and speaker and if they could narrow down lower chin to 8 percent by squeezing the finger print scan; then we can get 9-10 percent more vertical height without sacrificing the form factor for iPhone SE. And approximately size of display will be around 5.2 cm. Wish apple could read this too.
I believe there gonna be a community of SE fans in the future, who aren’t actually the fan of SE’s, but who chooses simplicity as a key value, who use technologies in a right way and enjoy their life without pseudo statuses etc.
Thanks for sharing. I'm always a SE fans, but this time I will switch to 13 mini, first, because of the size, I have small hands and I prefer a smaller phone, also I would like to have a better camera.
If the SE was just smaller, I very likely would go for it over the mini. It lacks FaceID, OLED, a non-rectangular screen, a mmWave antenna, U1 chip, and the absurdly large camera system...all 'pros' for me because I don't want any of that. But the mini's smaller and gets better battery life (and comes in a beautiful green) so that is likely where I'll end up. Honestly, I just want an iPhone 5 with iOS 6 and upgraded internal hardware.
849$ vs 579$ in Canada for Mini vs SE (3rd gen). Having been perfectly fine with the iPhone 5 design, there is not really drawbacks of "screen issue" or anything with the SE. Besides, home button >>>>>>> notch, imo. When the floating island or under screen camera is in the SE or Mini, we'll talk lol.
I just switched from an iphone 11 to 13 mini. I never got used to how big and heavy the 11 is, and I ran out of storage. It was either the 14 pro (for the portrait camera) or a budget option (screw it just give me more storage) for me, so I was set on an SE for a while. I didn't want the switch to feel like a downgrade, so I was never 100% on the SE. Always living with blinders on, I decided on the 13 mini pretty last second. It's small like the classic iphone 4/5s, the heyday iphones. It's so light my mind thinks it's an itouch or way cheaper/less capable product. The screen is way way smaller, and my fat fingers keep accidentally touching the sides of the screen, somethings to get used to switching to a smaller phone. The display is just phenomenal. Most of my phones and screens are still not LED, so it was a huge improvement. Colours are super bright and blacks are pitch black. My mini 13 is dark green, in real life it's much darker and richer looking, almost black, which I find pretty cool. The only downside is the camera autofocus, which doesnt seem to be as easy to use and sharp as my 11, which is weird, but I will chalk that up to a potential issue and not a real concern yet.
Last time I checked they both have A15 chip and run IOS . Basically it’s a hardware difference which is a matter of choice. The main thing they have in common is what counts software and updates.
One thing I'm noting on the 13 mini, is there seems to be part of the video missing, not only because of the notch, but it's on the top and bottom of the frame too. That's not good, is it?
Switched from 11 to SE 2022. Wanted the latest compact phone without breaking my bank and here in India the phone is a lot costlier when compared to US. Night mode gets compensated by Neural Cam app and battery is a bummer but gets me around 18-20 hours when charged till 80%. Although being a small battery it charges pretty quickly with iPad’s 20W charger. Last of all starlight color is too good to resist. 😀
To be honest 11 was a true champ and this is certainly not. I’m not a gamer anyways so it gets the job done plus I wanted a no nonsense iPhone without spending top dollars. And with the latest stuff it hosts in at this so called affordable price I was sold and decided to buy. If you have the budget go for 13 I’d say. 👍
@@grdinesh I also switched from 11 to 13 Mini. The Mini is nicer to hold and is lighter, battery life is ok, I don't game. I charge the phone to 80% every day unless I am going to be out all day until late evening. I use it for calls, WhatsApp, SMS and sometimes take photos or videos. I take with me MagSave Power Bank ( Anker 5000 m amp h ) if I am going to be out all day till late evening for just in case. So far I have no need to use it.
@@grdinesh I also switched from 11 to SE 2022 and after 3 weeks I would say my screen on time is between 8-10hrs (I don't play games, or just a little). I turned the 5G off. The only downside is, even the LTE can eat the battery faster..other than that, I would say pretty similiar battery life compared to the 11, but charges super fast (I have 12W iPad charger, SE has smaller battery 2018mAh compared to 11's 3110mAh). I miss the gestures but I didn't think I would say that but I prefer TouchID…it would be nice if they added gestures and they can (even cheapest iPads have touchID, bezels, but gestures included)
Fun fact: although the screens on the 12 mini and 13 mini are larger than the se, the usable space is smaller due to spacing and curvature inefficiency vs the squared SE screen. Very interesting. Almost all YT vids play 1mm wider and taller on the SE because of this (I measured because I am a loser).
Enjoy viewing on LCD belps 1080p with 326ppi that's same as 12 years old iPhone 4. Black looks dark grey and viewing angles are poor.. I've switched from touch ID TO FACE ID (iPhone 13) and I rather have smaller notch with top display tech than big ass bezel with 2010 tech.
The SE 2022 is a good value because of the longevity of software support , A15 processor , Touch ID , & the size factor . It’s a capable phone in my opinion.
Nobody ever mentioned that SE has wider display so the keyboard is also wider 😅 isn't it? Also some people (including me) have problems with PWM flicker in OLEDs, I have migraines from it. And TouchID is underrated, I had 2,5 years iPhone 11 and “upgraded” to SE2022 just for the formfactor and yeah, I miss the gestures and Nighmode (NeuralCam solves that, sort of)
Just fyi a 256gb iPhone SE is 579 USD. that’s still over $100 less than the $699 starting price of a 128gb iPhone 13 mini. Same A15 chip with mini probably winning over camera area since Face ID and Touch ID is subjective to the user. I would probably choose the SE because you get more storage and Touch ID with only sacrificing camera quality but getting it for a let less
I feel like these RUclipsrs put to much personal preference into these review videos. I really like the ones where they just give you the facts and what they mean so I can decide.
There is only a $200 difference between the standard models of the 13 mini and SE. With $200 more, you are getting more storage, better battery, bigger screen, and better cameras. 13 mini is probably more worth it
@@sidv4615 The 13 Mini’s 15 hour battery life is way better than my 6s’ 11 hour life (more like 4 hours now that it’s battery health is at 76% because the store left me with an 89% one). My only other choice is the XS Max for the price, but it only has 13 hours. Also, we don’t have $1k to buy a 13 Pro, unfortunately, but I wish we did
These reviews sound so dumb. I have a 15 pro and I’m going to get an se before they do away with the home button. It’s comfortable to hold super light and retro but with a A15 chip which is plenty power for its budget.
Bro you’re definitely right, the mini is far better than the se 2022. I bought it today and wow what a beast of a phone is this. It’s so comfortable and it has a great camera. I hope that Apple will continue in the future the mini. Perhaps over 2-4 years?
I thought about it for a while, but went with SE. Notch was deal breaker, price also reason I went with SE, and I just really like the fingerprint thing. I don't need all the bells and whistles, and I like it being small. How I use my phone: watch a ton of youtube and netflix, discord, whattsapp, messenger. No gaming.
@@JSLReview Yea I got it about a week or two ago. After the 15.4.1 update the battery is definitely good enough for my taste. Also have lovely 256gb of space. (I figured, if I'm pondering on iphone 13 mini, I can get the biggest storage option when settling on SE!) (I had the iphone SE 2016 16gb before this, the smallest version.) So far no complaints. And very happy that I'm once again able to take photos. My storage was full for probably two years on my old one lol. Oh and that I can use apps again. IOS 11 something didn't really support much anymore.
@@kaades_ it’s not for everyone, but it works great for me. If there’s ever something that’s too small that I can’t see, I just watch at my computer in stead. And if the alternative is the 13 mini, the fact the notch covers part of the video is much worse than having a smaller screen. I can’t tell it’s just 720 either btw :)
You really highlighted the capability of the 13 mini, but I went from a galaxy s20 so I can really limit my usage while doing everything I need to. I like the size a lot. se seems like a bad value proposition
Jason, I agree 100%. As a matter of fact, the iPhone 13 Mini is so spectacular that some people think it’s the greatest compact phone ever made. Like…ever. I’m definitely one of those people.
I love everything about my old 6s. This SE looks like a simple upgrade. I really wished they made one with white bezels as I much prefer the aesthetics. Because of that, I chose to go XR and full screen front.
The XR IMHO, is one of the best, and most iconic, iPhone’s Apple ever made. I just bought myself an IPhone 13 mini and am over the moon happy with it. However, my IPhone XR red is not going anywhere: I will use it as my iPad ultra mini until it dies on me. The difference between the LCD and OLED screen is minor, BTW. Awesome device. Good choice.😎👍
Cameras are way better in the SE 2022 than in the XR I just upgraded from an XR and I can really tell the difference in performance and photo (mostly bc the bionic A15)
iPhone SE 3 is a great phone for people who really want to have that touch ID and old fashioned design with a great camera and processor and keep the budget low. I must say that SE 3 do great images and I believe A15 helps with the magic. iPhone 13 mini is a premium device (although it's mini) and it has newer features and better camera, better battery. At the end of the day if you're not that much into taking videos, photos and don't use your phone a lot and just love to have iPhone go with SE 3. One great thing to do is to visit Apple and take a look at phones. Try them out and choose the one which is more comfortable for you.
I’m going to be replacing my XR with one of these. I simply cannot justify the cost of the 14 or 14 Pro even with interest free financing. I would also like to use my phone less and get a new tablet for video streaming and gaming. With the money saved (excluding the tablet) buying the iPhone SE you could get the new Apple Watch SE, and that’s appealing by to me since I’ve never had an Apple Watch. Still, the 13 mini is a very cool and unique offering in the iPhone pantheon, and now that it has dropped to $599 (and I would only be buying the 128GB SE for $479) it’s a much closer battle in favor of the 13 mini.
I’m stuck at the iphone 8, like the physical home button, size same as SE. So the SE appeals to me as I know I need to upgrade. Plus price. I have an IPad for content.
About to upgrade wife’s iPhone 8, so def will go for the 13 mini. And, when it’s time to upgrade my SE 2020, same route. Admittedly, the OS improvement to do facial recognition with mask makes a huge difference for us.
I love how a lot of tech RUclipsr's are talking about the SE's dated form factor. The phone was never meant to be a sleek updated design. Internals are updated, but keeps what a lot of other people love. I have a 12 mini, I do enjoy it, but I also had an iPhone SE 2020 and I LOVED that phone. I didn't need all the latest and greatest. I don't even play video games on my phone so for me the SE is perfect. Also, I'm in the camp that I think Touch ID is way better than Face ID. Also, rumor is they're going to scrap the iPhone Mini so if someone were to get it and fall in love with the form factor...well, seems to be going away.
watching this on my new SE, trust me guys if you don’t really care about a 4.7 display, get this phone without any second thoughts you wont be disappointed.
I bought 13 mini . VERY ANNOYED apple does not include WALL CHARGER 🔌. Wtf. I have to spend EXTRA MONEY AT THE PHONE shop. 😡 Very pissed off . 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏻 apple please include charger 🔌 next time 💩🚽
I work at a cell phone store and we see the SE as a good starter IPhone for kids, older people, etc. but for average adults it is simply not sufficient. It’s good for bargain shoppers and old ladies basically
I like the home button I still have my iPhone 8 and besides I’m not paying $400 more for an iPhone mini, the Canadian prices have the mini at $999 compared to $560 for the SE3
Is it just me or people are missing one of the Mini's shortcomings, i.e. the placement of the the volume buttons exactly opposite the power button. Because of that it's very easy to accidently take a screenshot when changing volume. Can be quite annoying and it's a bad design decision if you ask me. Other than that, it's a classy little phone.
Thank you, Jason! The 13 mini is still not worth the price difference after sales tax in areas with high sales tax (which blights the lives of the most vulnerable as opposed to higher six-figure income tax) because iPhone is stuck on 12 MP cameras without significant optical zoom. Samsung has the tech fro 10x periscopic optical zoom. While 108 MP is overkill, there is no reason Apple should not offer 48 rear and 24 front on all flagships and charge $100 more or something. Currently, I could still take vastly superior photographs with a $200 used Canon 20 MP 25x optical zoom point-and-shoot and just call, email, look up things on the web, and text on a used $200 2017 128 GB iPhone SE (the real one, the compact one). Until Apple gives us 48 MP and 10-12x periscopic zoom, which they won't, and indubitably won't in a pocket size phone (under 5.5"), an SE (the 2017 128 GB SE is actually far more impressive than the SE2022!) and a digital camera remain the more frugal option for even better pictures. Apple does not lead in innovation since Jobs passed; they lead in kowtowing to China and shareholders while keeping their financial headquarters in Ireland so they can suck captial out of the US economy like a black hole and not give back in taxes.
I'm wishing Apple would make an iPhone SE 2024: Body of iPhone X: - 5.8" Amoled Screen - A17 Bionic Chip - 4,000 mAh battery - 27 watts USB-C charging - Punch hole selfie camera - Dual Rear camera - Side Mounted Fingerprint scanner on the Power button Not much to ask 😂😂😂😂
13 mini is the sweet spot for size and weight and power. These 2 cannot be compared, the se is 400 and the mini is 700, in terms of value, 13 mini is so much better, in terms of nett base price, the se is there. It’s the only mid tier phone of that size. It’s a useable phone but not a great value. If you don’t mind android or size and weight, there are a lot of good options at that price, even better if you can find one with sd870 or dimensity 8100, it’s no a15 but it’s not 695 778 480 680 or dimensity 700 800 900 either. With 680 to be avoided or Exynos 850 or unisoc t616 in many 2022 phones.
@@RandomUser-tj3mg sd 778 765 750 are all pretty good. In fact 695 and 480 are pretty good too except for the gpu in 695, it is just slightly better than g96 dimensity 700 sd732 level. 680 is abysmal. Dimensity 8100 or sd 870 is the sweet spot right now for near flagship tier until 7 gen 1 comes. And these are way above 778.
For one, a 2340x1080 display is nothing short of ridiculous on a 5-inch screen. You would never see that added resolution. As far as display size, you ZOOMED IN on the image in the Mini to make it appear that much larger. Very deceptive. The actual difference in screen size is almost nothing on the short side. It's just a little longer on the long side, although you get the joy of that floating black piece jutting into your image on the Mini. That alone is a deal breaker.
Been debating which to get..i own a z fold 3… but consider either a s.e or mini … though both have their cons n pro.. if s.e comes with a MagSafe battery pack , I would think no more… i love that touch i.d too…. Mini is about the ultra wide camera ..and s.e doesn’t got that night mode..
The iPhone 13 mini gets 1 less year of iOS support than the iPhone SE 3. I got my SE for the practicality of a phone it offers and software support. I don’t care if it’s inside a iPhone 8 shell. We need more phones like this instead of being scammed into buying a gigantic phone with features most people don’t use. Big new iPhone is just clout vs practicality
lol you forgot that touch ID blows the experience and usability factor, unless the pandemic didn't affext you. Touch ID is the main reason why general population gets it, not to mention the 13 Mini is almost 2 iPhone SE3 units!
I prefer the SE 2022. I *adore* the form factor as well as the value for money. It's like buying a Ferrari for the price of a Chevy Geo! 5G (sub6), Smart HDR, Deep Fusion, Neural Engine (AI), and everything else for such a great price. I'm seeing it for as little as $379 on the US-based Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) called 'StraightTalk' and 'Simple Mobile'. I prefer TouchID over FaceID. Just my preference. Can open to the home screen even before the phone is out of one's pocket!
I am the kinda guy that uses my Toaster to make toast and don't need it to fry an egg as I have a frying pan for that....So I use my phone for Making and receiving calls. I have a 52 inch T.V to watch Movies and Videos. My thumbs are in Great shape, So I don't Need to Exercise them 12 hours a Day playing Mindless games. My Self Esteem is just fine and I have No Grandiose Ego that makes Me think That I am So important that the World needs to see a Video or Photo of my eating habits, Also when I am driving I don't want to be taking. My Eyes off the Road to hold and Maneuver a phone around in front of my Face to Unlock it when a Simple touch from a finger will accomplish the task. So in conclusion Yep the SE gets My Vote as the Better Phone. To Each His Own.
I was so excited about the new SE as I had the old version and loved it.. but when I saw it wasn't full screen it put me off buying it, now the iPhone 13 mini looks awesome!! Why didn't they do that to the SE?? the home button style looks dated now. looks like an IPhone 7/8.
TouchID has its following, so do on-screen fingerprint scanners on Android phones. Talking down such methods just to sell your view on a single Apple product doesn't help you much; maybe you should learn from bigger channels like MKBHD or Mr. Mobile.
I had the SE 2nd Gen, and waited to see what the 3rd GenSE would offer. After watching your presentation and that of two other guys on RUclips, I came to the conclusion that the 13 mini is indeed the better choice. As for price, if you buy the SE you need to spend more to get the 128 G that is basic to the 13 mini; plus Apple gave me $150 trade for my SE and then took off 3% by using the Apple Card, so the hurt was not much. The main factors for me were the screen and the newer guts of the phone. I also like that it is smaller but clearer and easier to operate. Thanks for your video.😀
I started on iOS with the iPhone SE first generation. I loved the device so much, after two years I bought myself another one. After 4 years I skipped over to the iPhone XR instead of the SE second generation. I just bought myself an IPhone 13 mini which to me is the first generation SE pro. I absolutely love this device. It’s my dream phone. Such a shame Apple is going to stop producing the mini line. ☹️
@@nowwhat33 I agree that Apple is making a mistake by discontinuing the mini line. I hope the new mini will last a long time, if not I will look at the whole spectrum of phones out there for the smallest one with the most power. Bigger is not always better.
hey man, this seems like a cool video but i would wait until the end of the video to ask the viewers to like it, so they can like based on the content. or say something along the lines of "if you like the video, give it a thumbs up" and not just like my video blindly without having watched it

People who can't spend much money probably won't care about which features the more expensive ones have that this one does not. Cuz the whole point is to get a cheap device.

The issue is that when I wanted to change from my old phone I wanted to go to the iPhone
I had the choice between the iPhone SE 2020 128Gb or the iPhone XR 64Gb
And I picked the iPhone SE for the chip and the size
One year and half I regret it
Lags, freezes, (over)heating, horrible battery life
Yes I have a little phone with Touch ID and a compact device
But it’s the only thing I have
I really love the design and features of the iPhone 13 mini but 759€ is just too much for me
So I’m stuck to wait that the price of the mini go down… and buy it when the price is reasonable for me
Yeah. I'm so poor it hurts my heart
Base price on the 13 mini dropped to $599, and the 128GB SE is $479, so the difference is minimal now.
@@mindspinn311 that's in usa or canada. not rest of the word. its still 809€ here in france.
I decided to buy the SE 2022 and have no regrets.
Addressing the main weaknesses named in this video:
1) I like the small form factor. It fits very comfortably in my pocket and is easy to control one handed. I upgraded from a very old iPhone 6 and the transition was a snap because it feels exactly the same
2) The display size is smaller, buy I dont care. I do not watch TV on my phone, nor play video games. The slightly smaller display is perfectly satisfactory. Besides, the "notch" on the newer phones would drive me crazy
3) The OLED screen on the phone 13 is somewhat brighter and has somewhat better contrast, but on a screen that small the higher resolution is meaningless as your eyes cannot physically resolve the smaller pixels unless you have supervision.
Here are the benefits I derived updating to the SE 2022;
1) The internal hardware was updated to match the iPhone 13.
Very well explained. Yes it is a device for someone wanting to use it for it’s basic functions. A very good device at that
i agree 100%. i love the se lineup :D
i paused the video and read your comment then i made my decision. thanks buddy
Sad is what you still spending your money for your wife 🤭🤭😂😅

As I own both the SE 3 and the 13Mini there’s no doubt which is the better phone. The only downside for me is the squared off sides. I find the SE 3’s curved sides far more comfortable to hold and also make it easier to pick up. Therefore I’m staying with the SE 3.
What do you like more about the mini?
which one is the better?
The mini.
I would like to buy one for a senior around 70 years old, SE3 (Touch ID) or 13 Mini (Face ID) is easier to use for senior? Thanks!
@@cedricphoo personally I think SE 3.
This guy says “it’s only $300” more like it’s $3 more
The SE 3 is a very important choice in the iPhone range for those 10% who, like me, can’t use OLED screens due to PWM problems. I’ve wished they made a Plus size SE, but I guess it might eat into the regular iPhone sales.
PWM?
@@proradus Well said Anton. I’ve explained this so many times to people. I’m glad YOU did this time. Sigh…
Me 😂
Thanks for sharing.
I'm always a SE fans, but this time I will switch to 13 mini, first, because of the size, I have small hands and I prefer a smaller phone, also I would like to have a better camera.
I love the SE touch ID, the smaller mini chassis, and the pro camera setup, I wish there was a mini pro lol
Ditto! Me too! I want a MINI with macro camera.
The 13 mini comes in green. It’s an easy choice for me, no matter how much my wallet hurts after purchasing it
If the SE was just smaller, I very likely would go for it over the mini.
Hey Raja, how is your battery experience so far ? I'm planning to switch as well and I've been watching videos on iPhone SE for sometime now!
broo, which one do u think i should get? the 11 or se3
And it's nice to see the reviewer showing a monkey video in full screen mode on 13 mini...with monkey head cut... no sense...
SE all the time better

I’m considering buying this as a gift for my mom. How long does your battery last and also how many hours have you used it through out the day
I feel like these RUclipsrs put to much personal preference into these review videos. I really like the ones where they just give you the facts and what they mean so I can decide.
There is only a $200 difference between the standard models of the 13 mini and SE. With $200 more, you are getting more storage, better battery, bigger screen, and better cameras. 13 mini is probably more worth it

What is the wallpaper on the SE 3?
Hi Jaison I bought iPhone 13 mini last Sunday on your recommendation in your exclusive video for 13 mini.... And mmm... It is red!
so
I love everything about my old 6s.
Cameras are way better in the SE 2022 than in the XR I just upgraded from an XR and I can really tell the difference in performance and photo (mostly bc the bionic A15)
i have the se2020 and ip13 mini, tbh using the se2020 is more comfortable. :)
exactly i tried them on mall and i found that se is much more comfortable than the mini
iPhone SE 3 is a great phone for people who really want to have that touch ID and old fashioned design with a great camera and processor and keep the budget low.
Draw a parallel line at top end to notch of iphone 13 mini the screen size will be same as that of SE
i really like your video and the wallpapers u choose for the phone wow😄
Does the 13 mini battery last as long as the iphone 11 ?
For the cost of an iPhone 13 Max I can buy a nee 128gb SE and a new 256gb iPad 😅
About to upgrade wife’s iPhone 8, so def will go for the 13 mini. And, when it’s time to upgrade my SE 2020, same route. Admittedly, the OS improvement to do facial recognition with mask makes a huge difference for us.

Is it just me or people are missing one of the Mini's shortcomings, i.e. the placement of the the volume buttons exactly opposite the power button.
I'm wishing Apple would make an iPhone SE 2024:
Body of iPhone X:
- 5.8" Amoled Screen
- A17 Bionic Chip
- 4,000 mAh battery
- 27 watts USB-C charging
- Punch hole selfie camera
- Dual Rear camera
- Side Mounted Fingerprint scanner on the Power button
Not much to ask 😂😂😂😂
I prefer the 13 mini
But my wallet suits iPhone SE
Yeah it’s a pretty big jump in price no lie, but worth it in my opinion! Thanks for watching!
@@JSLReview always welcome
Did u just put sd680,480,695 and 778 in the same teir. Dude. 778g is no slouch. It's way above 480,680,695.
Omg, 0:35 the notch chops off the top part of the video in iphone 13…….. no thx im sticking with the SE 😂❤
still sticking to my SE 2020
The iPhone 13 mini gets 1 less year of iOS support than the iPhone SE 3. I got my SE for the practicality of a phone it offers and software support. I don’t care if it’s inside a iPhone 8 shell. We need more phones like this instead of being scammed into buying a gigantic phone with features most people don’t use. Big new iPhone is just clout vs practicality
I am not ready to let the home button go yet..
As always, such an amazing video!
Thanks man!
i love the se lineup. the performance, longevity, practicality, etc. its perfect for me
5:26 That's what SHE said. 🤣
I bought the SE to use at work but I have the New iPad mini for streaming and gaming.
well for the se you can get screen replacement and batteries for very cheap
lol you forgot that touch ID blows the experience and usability factor, unless the pandemic didn't affext you. Touch ID is the main reason why general population gets it, not to mention the 13 Mini is almost 2 iPhone SE3 units!
Don’t get either if you have bad eyes! 😂😂😂
In India new iPhone SE 3 costed me USD 700 approx. I wanted to buy iPhone 13 mini I couldn’t because it was way too much costlier than SE3!
Why didn't they do that to the SE?? the home button style looks dated now. looks like an IPhone 7/8.
i wonder why
TouchID has its following, so do on-screen fingerprint scanners on Android phones. Talking down such methods just to sell your view on a single Apple product doesn't help you much; maybe you should learn from bigger channels like MKBHD or Mr. Mobile.
The best video and Tech ASMR I've ever seen ✨
I was going to get the SE but ended up ordering the 13 mini
wow se pics compared to 13 amazing quality on both with good lighting of course. nice
“Help a brother out??” 😳Brother huh?? Oh brother😖
Lo nervioso que me pone que la gente no sepa que el ✨presupuesto✨ es lo que define esa decisión
Very nice presentation, no overhyping, appreciate it.
Appreciate the feedback, thank you!
hey man, this seems like a cool video
but i would wait until the end of the video to ask the viewers to like it, so they can like based on the content. or say something along the lines of "if you like the video, give it a thumbs up" and not just like my video blindly without having watched it
That's the problem though, most of the time once someone watches the meat of the video the video they don't stick around to the end.
Appreciate the feedback! I kind of want to get the opinions before hearing mine to see what initial first impressions are but totally get what your saying, thanks!
How are you doing bro
Doing good man, busy but good!
People who can't spend much money probably won't care about which features the more expensive ones have that this one does not. Cuz the whole point is to get a cheap device.
I will go with the 13 Mini, all day, any day
