Watching from Woodstock, NY. First visit to Portugal was in 2020...thinking about the move since then. Now I'm going to for our first scouting trip on Dec. 2-15. Silver Coast here we come!
Hi guys! We do the same but split time between Florida & Panama. We also have a dog and love TrustedHousesitters! I was watching your video regarding renting your Portugal home to fund your stay in France, I wanted to let you know we also do Home Exchange, and that has been working out phenomenally.
I'm a 63yo slow traveler. After years of expat and nomad travel, I planned to retire abroad to reduce my cost of living. But during the pandemic, I started a business that I love and provides significant income. I can do most of the work online but a few critical functions require a physical US presence. So I keep a small live/work space in Chicago and travel 2 months at a time twice a year. The best part is most of my US costs (rent, utilities, transport) and all of my travel costs are tax-deductible business expenses.
I'm in the Fox Valley of Wisconsin, USA. I'm a new subscriber of yours too, and I love what you talk about. I'm only 39, but I'm using your experience and knowledge to influence my future. Thank you for all you share!
Jody & Kristi from Portland, Oregon here! We were in Portugal last year and cannot wait to go back. We just had dinner with friends who were there last week and we were dreaming about spending more time there for slow travel. So appreciate your POV and all the great information.
I’m a member of Trusted Housesitters and have mainly been a sitter. Considering having someone come in for my dog. So far we try to bring him everywhere but that doesn’t work overseas. My husband and I did a sit while in Nice FR which help defray costs. It is great!!!
Thank you! I started a you tube channel over a month ago… I used your tips on monetization this week and gained 4 followers and my videos started doing better! I am a new subscriber!
You folks are refreshing. In our early 60s we have friends retiring and for a bit it was getting depressing. Then we purchased our motorhome and hit the road working remote.
I really enjoy listening to your videos… I would like to know mics you use and what do you use to edit your videos? It is so nice that you tell the REAL facts so yes, one can have this dream, however, you bring in the actual details. You give me great options to think about and research. If you have done a video on the tech part, then just the link would be good. 🙏
Thanks for your encouragement @stylishsilverseventy ! We use Rode Wireless II mics (honestly we’re still trying to learn how to optimize them) and Adobe Premiere Pro to edit.
👀 from Oregon City, OR. Got my eyes on Portugal, but with the changes in the NHR, I'm looking at other options as well. Spent a month exploring in Portugal/Spain/France last year. Living in EU for ease of travel to all the places on my bucket list is my goal! Glad to hear you're positive experience with Trusted Housesitters. That's also something I'm looking at.
Thanks for watching @MirandaHorger and these tax programs seem to change frequently. We’ve been here 9 months and NHR has changed three times. But ease of EU travel is one of the reasons we’re here!!
The thing I like is you are old enough to have wisdom we all can learn from. I need to just do instead of think. Know what I mean? I travel all over and live in a beautiful place but I struggle with thinking my content is good enough so I dont post. You are doing, gives me hope. 🌴🌴 Aloha. I think you are young, compared with me you are 🤣
❤Thanks for your tips on this channel. My wife And I retired in the Philippines and it was the best decision of our life. The lower cost of living allows us to Travel nearly every weekend. Additionally my modest extra income from my own products and affiliate links goes toward our travel adventures. My channel is small with 150 subscribers and most videos receive less than 1k views. You really can earn with a small channel. I am proof of that.
Thanks for watching @mwpthepodcast and Matt works full time for a non profit in NY and Dawn works part time for that same non profit as well as running an online business.
American in Baton Rouge, LA. Just returned from Nice, France and want to go back. Due for retirement from State of LA in 18 months. Work from home full time, but state won’t let you travel and be on clock. 😐
