Does the APW3++ PSU need to be explicitly powered on after plugging it in? When I plug mine in, the fan runs, but there is no voltage between at the black and yellow leads. The PSU makes a clicking sound about 2x per second. Defective?
Can you safely run two of these to run a single Antminer S9? Their product page says to not use more than one PSU for a single board, and there are 3 for a board, but with 10 total outlets splitting it to be more even sounds impossible. Obviously, more of a concern for those of us in America who have the 1200 watt limit. Although underclocking is obviously an option.
They ship it alongside the latest order you have (they say so). Mine arrived along with my miner.

To me this isnt "quite" as i recently got one. Sounds like a Vacuum cleaner. Not sure if my is louder then it should be? Surprised you didn't talk about the increase in available output running off 220v. That was a huge concern of mine when ordering my D3 was the incredibly high power draw requirements Bitmain stated (1200W). according to them, the APW3++ will deliver 1200W on 110v or 1600W on 220v. Knowing that it's NEVER a good idea to run a switching powersupply at or near full load, I opted to run all my PSUs off 220v for the additional overhead afforded to the PSU so it wouldn't run at or near full load thus increaseing longevity and reducing wear and tear on the units. This also allowed me to increase miner density per circuit as current draw is reduced by half due to the voltage increase. I've seen one video (I think it was Cryptocrane?) where they noted the ACTUAL miner draw was in the 900W range. I would LOVE to see verification of that by another channel. Considering you're the only other one making videos regularly of decent quality who has a D3, you're primed for that kind of testing.
Just the amperage drop from 110 to 220 is worth it in my opinion. for a 1000W miner, you're talking 9A at the wall. with 220, that same load drops to 4.5A. Your circuit breakers will thank you, and so will your power cables ;)

My house has a box with like 8 circuit boards for each set of rooms and specifics like microwave or refrigerator.. i could add a circiut just for the room with the rigs

Serop Nargizyan most PC power supplies can run on 220 just check the specs of the power supply. Some have a switch on the back most newer models don't. But I don't see why you couldn't do so and use a smaller one to power the motherboard.

Joe Harman most newer power supplies like this one don't have a switch you just plug it in to whatever voltage you want. He actually said it wrong this power supply can run on 120,208 or 240. Most people in America call 120 110 and 240 220.

I was able to get 9.8 TH out of two hashboards on 110v. I just didnt plug in the 3rd hashboard.. kinda pointless but interesting.

you really should mention that bitmain power supply will not provide enough power for antminer S9 if run at 120v. You pretty much required to use ether evga 1600 power supply if run at that voltage or wire an v220 outlet which in its own costs quite a bit from licensed electrician... outlet is better option simply because its less of a fire hazard to run so much power at 220v.

I dont think this power supply is 80+ platinum because i have it in my mining rig and power draw from outlet was 1880W after i change it for Corsair AX1500i 80+ Titanium i have power draw from outlet only 1660W so 220W difference so i dont like these servers power supply and its loud too

Sandeep Kumar I would say yes it just doesn't come with a power cable. You can use a standard PC power cable to plug into it.

Chance Hines most newer PC power supplies do just check the specs make sure it says 120/240 on the label.
