The internal speaker has a tendency of blowing out if being run too loud for too long. You can send it in to Escort to be repaired or you can do the speaker replacement yourself. This video will show you how to do it yourself.

Do you know of any way to increase the volume of the mono earphone jack? I have read other users complaining of this issue as well compared to other detectors. I also have a Bel RX65 and the earphone volume has to be turned all the way on low its so loud. The Redline has to be all the way up and is very hard to hear.
Dose anyone know why I would be only getting static when sound is play on my r7 ???
@Ryan"USMC03" .K, I bought the speaker because I like to do things that don't make sense. :D Just kidding. The friend of mine who lent me this Redline needs it back soon for an upcoming trip. Larry, the Escort rep, was out of town for an event so I ordered one to get one in ASAP. :) By the way, thank you for your service.

The replacement speaker I ordered from eBay for my redline doesn’t have any cords attached to it, it’s solely a speaker. Is this the wrong thing?

I'm still using my Redline and it's been perfect, Do you have any info on reflowing, resoldering the antenna's? As mine needs to go back and get serviced. However they don't service or repair these units anymore :-( cheers!!!!!

Mine was out of warranty and they sent me a replacement free. I asked them nicely, provided my proof of purchase (which showed my RD was 2.5 years old) and mentioned that I'd registered the RD upon purchase. They said basically, "Sorry for the problem, we're sending you another speaker."
I have a unit in R3. My speaker went out started first with That sound of a blown speaker. Then it completely went out. I never run at full volume. I don’t want my dash cam to pick it up and I don’t want to turn my volume off so what would cause that?

Why they used a cheap plastic speaker and not a buzzer or paper cone speaker?
My Redline speaker is going out.. After only 9 months. Really disappointed, gonna have to replace the speaker. Also considering getting a DFR6 as a replacement because I'm sick of no BSM filtering. The Ka range is killer though.
Where can I buy the speaker for the escort passport?
Looking at the way the Redline cover looks, maybe Escort should have added 2 mini speakers to make it stereo. That way you wouldn't have to turn it up to the max volume.

Sorry, no. Have you opened it up to make sure there's a nice secure fit in there? Maybe it's something else that's rattling? You'll have to just poke around and see for yourself.
Hey Vortex. Back on Friday redline speaker started failing making awful noise now. Was wondering what is the easier way to get new speaker from contacting escort by phone or use rdfourm to contact Larry

Open the dashcam, take a close look at the speaker, and Google the part number stamped on it.
