Thanks for another great video. I learn something new about my redline every time I watch. The damn K band falsing in southern Ohio is extremely annoying. There are hundreds of these traffic sensors across the entire 71 highway. I had TSR off to increase performance but will turn it on and see if the falsing goes down.
Hey @vortex any update in 2023 where I can see on the website in Dallas Texas which bands are being used, I’m having some trouble finding it with the updated new website… I usually only use KA band but I didn’t know they ran K band as well and I don’t know what frequency to put on.. I just bought the Max360c MrkII
What!!! man thats crazy you live in washington too?? lol me too!! i was actually watching your videos before i got the V1 lol.. thinking about making a tutorial on how to install it on a motorcycle.
+Ride Out Life haha cool! If you do, that'd be great! It's one area I don't know anything about really. You can also post here and share more of what you've found to be helpful: www.rdforum.org/showthread.php?t=52205
+Vortex Radar Just uploaded the video on my channel on how to hardwire it on a motorcycle :) Also posted it on the Radar forum :) I also did a test ride.. wen't well
I commute weekly between NY and Maryland. I see Pop is used in NY and NJ. For that reason, should I keep Pop on? I didn't quite understand what you meant by saying Pop citation is not legal. Also, seems like NJ is one of the few states in the nation using Xband. So I probably should have that on.
Hey Vortex, I'm moving to Central NJ (Somerset/Bridgewater/Morris/Warren County) most likely and work there as well for the next 6-9 months. Currently in NYC and I'm wondering what bands do you recommend? I noticed I need to turn X band on, since recently my friend with a 9500ci had X band on and he caught a Tax Collector where I didn't. Thx
If the V1 falses to TSR and TMF2 is enabled, should I just turn off TMF2 and let it false when it does so that I get better protection the rest of the time?
Only if you wanna get bombarded with false alerts endlessly. ;) I do run with TMF2 off in rural areas where there's fewer falses and I need better performance. Otherwise TMF2 on is basically a must.
Very useful info thanks, 1 note tho. i live in NC and was told that NC stopped using X band in june of 2014 is this true? i noted in your vid you listed NC for using X band still. I bought an V1 due to your vids and gonna be using this to program it and was planning on turning X band off but only if its not in use anymore.
I heard that as well. There's sadly a lot of inaccuracies for X band on that map. It's tough to know for sure if X band is no longer in use so it's tough to know how to correct some of the entries.
TravelCam1111 I have a personal friend who works for CMPD (Charlotte NC) and he said that YES some officers still use X band. Hope this helps Devan Zelenak

Really late reply but hey I'm moving to Spokane in a week here haha...but did you turn off X band or is it still on? I'm mostly going to be around downtown/spokane valley area. I've got it on right now in Ohio since our state troopers like to use everything including X

In Alberta, especially in Edmonton, you're going to need a detector specifically with MRCD detection. Things are different and much tougher up there. Take a look at the Net Radar, Redline International, 9500ci International, and Stinger VIP.
Unfortunately LJ are illegal in TX. Ironically, my home state of MA, the wicked liberals, allow LJ--go figure. Anyway, those are "jammers." But what about laser avoidance items/gimmicks or whatever we want to call the special "paint" for the headlights, and license plates. Assuming the paint does work, does anyone know if that's legal to use in TX/other states? As if TX isn't bad enough, my county, Denton, uses ALL forms of detection, including X. :-(
***** Yeah, they used to be legal in TX but some guy was going around deliberately jamming cops and posting the videos on youtube. It pissed them off and they made them illegal. That said, if you kill your jammers quickly upon being shot, often times they won't know. In fact the penalty for speeding is often worse than the penalty for having jammers. I don't know the specifics of Texas' laws though. That's simply a generalization. I've tested out Veil and wasn't particularly impressed with it. In fact it's being reworked right now due to some issues that I and others have been seeing in application and testing. Currently I wouldn't recommend it.

Typically that's an error. Turn POP off.
Samir Pandya If you'd like to learn more about POP, watch this video: ruclips.net/video/GzXylTbyE3c/видео.html
Do you have any recent updates to this? Looking for info mainly for Canada. I just picked up the R8 after going through your reviews.
The forums would be the best place to check for all that: www.rdforum.org/threads/111355/

Yes X band is still in use in NJ so you will want it on. ruclips.net/video/n2UIfQUGqUE/видео.html

i can't remember the last time i got a K alert that came from a radar unless it's one of those speed signs.
I noticed that Portland and Salem use QT. Is a Redline default set for max detection? Thanks
William Cely No it's not. Disable RDR, segment the detector, and turn TSR off for maximum responsiveness.
TravelCam1111 Great, will do. From the survey it looks like I will have to leave X on for Oregon.
William Cely Yeah there's been a couple reports of X band down in Southern Oregon so it's a good idea.
What is the average price for a LJ and what brands are considered good?
+Alfred Andresen Take a look at this: www.vortexradar.com/2016/01/alp-setup-guide-part-1-why-antilaser-priority/
OK thanks.
Please update for Michigan,33.8 ka is in use

Where can I find this for Canada?. Google search is coming up empty

THANK YOU!!! I couldn't find this
Say u live in wi then drive to Minnesota got pulled over do u get a ticket if its illegal in the state u drive to
Right, it depends which state you're driving in, not where you live.
Hey bro I live in Washington too! Would you mind telling me what area you're around? I'm in the Spokane area
Ah cool, yeah I'm in Seattle
Vortex so you think I could disable the xband and be fine?
the crazy llama Around here, yeah. I've heard of some in the boonies in OR, but there isn't any in WA.
+Vortex ok cool. Thanks bro!

Tried to access this and was forbidden
hey bro i live in seattle & my redline not alert to police
+Ahad Hussain It's a radar detector, not a police car detector. If they're not running radar when you pass them, your radar detector won't alert.
Does this map not work anymore? I can't seem to find it.
It does but the map is down for a bit as RDF is being updated.
I cant find it anywhere....You sure it's still there? :-/
Agree with Travis the map is not there.
