Finally! The comparison done right. This helped me much more than a dozen other videos I've watched. Both lenses are quite good and while 23mm is conveniently small and portable, the images 35mm creates are so amazing that it just wins. No wonder this lens has so many great reviews.
Great comparison, 23 with 56 definitely are better set. Especially for street in my opinion. And 35mm if you can afford only one. For my taste little bit of background with 23 kinda better for street, and if you want to blur out background 56 is just no brainer. 35mm is just compromise between them. I'd start building collection with 23 and then add 56, or vice versa depending on your aims. Thanks for sharing. Definitely helped me
I would get the 23 mm over the 35mm. 23 is more wide and it is easier to step closer to subject than move further away. Especially when traveling, you might not have space to move back
I feel like I always get weird focusing issues with my 23 f/2. I'm actually considering switching to the 1.4 because of it. It just doesn't seem as solid as the 35 f/2 is
Xing, do you think yiu can make a comparison video between the 1.4 vs 2.0 versions of 23 and 35 on the xt3? Mainly on focusing speed and accuracy.. many thanks! Awesome work!
Hi Xing, I currently have 23mmf2 right now, however I find some of my shots too soft and now I'm thinking I'll be trading my 23mmf2 to 35mmf2. Is it worth it? Thanks, Pat
Patricia Castillo yes, very compact, one thing to know that if you shoot across coffee shop table on 35mm, might be a bit tight, 23mm F1.4 will be better if shooting across table.
AS for me this is bad comparison. Images on 23 are really bad. looks like everyone should take 35 over 23. But 23 is still a way better lense if you want some close shots or nature shots. This is not a portrait lense. it has a distortion and doing good in full size shots because of that. 35 is just a common portrait lense. No magic. I would pick 56 and 23.
Pretty good, I have a live session this afternoon editing XF 35mm F2 photos. Search “CaliallstaringLive” in RUclips if you want to check it out. It’s 3:15pm pacific time.
@@caliallstaring thanks for reply, it is much cheaper than used one xf35 f2 and with x-e3 I think that i dont need water resistant. I am also considering 18-55 But I think that I prefer 35 f2
Everytime I try to do a backlit portrait I either silhouette it or try to use my composition dial to expose for the model, BUT the background is always blown the hell out lol. I must be doing something wrong. Do I need to wait til the sun gets lower maybe?
Best comparison, very helpful for those who wants to buy their 1st prime lens, and no doubt it should be 35mm f2 or f1.4 and 56mm f1.2, don't buy 23 mm f2, because 23mm f1.2 is much better
Hallo i'm confused with the choice of two fujinon 35mm f2 and f1.4 lenses. to shoot which child between the two is better? for photos, quality n all. Thanks.
35mm f2 unless you do take a lot of shots at night. f2 af is quicker, able to catch candid moments of your child. those few milliseconds makes a big diff.
just bump up your ISO if low light or get a flash at low light. only flash of older kids, not good for eyes of very young child. google the age safe for using flash.
First of all lenses can shoot portraits etc there is no special in this canon nikon sony Fujifilm all are great cameras first of all mind should be clear

perfect video! You've helped me so much! Definitely getting the 35 over the 23. The 23 looks alright when it isnt next to another image LOL
Thank you:) yes, 23 if at the same distance doesn’t blur out as much as 35
I thought I was going to like the 23mm more but some of the close-ups looked a lot more natural on the 35mm :o
I like the 35mm more for portraits
A BIG 👍🏼 Up excellent production as always and a stunningly beautiful model ! ❤️
Thanks 😊
The pics with 56 f1.2 look so beautiful with blur background👍
Love the 56 :)
Very expensive
Amazing comparisons. 56 is in a league of its own. 35 F2 is great. Nice work. I’d like to see 50mm F2 comparisons with your work

nice shots! how do you keep the subject bright and clear when shooting against the light?
hi, I use the exposure compensation dial to adjust on the fly.
@@caliallstaring thank you 🙏🏻
Me da la impresión de que el 23 es mas nítido que el 35?
I'm wondering if the f2 lens on the x100v can produce the same bokeh?
It can, at the same F2, especially updated the f2 is sharper than old X100F
@@caliallstaring thank you xing. I always watch your videos and I love your style of shooting :)

23 and 56 prime and your set. 16 for landscape
😊👌🏼
If we do tilt up shot with 23mmf2 would it be give the same elongating effect as the 16mm f1.4?
Thanks for watching:) I haven’t tried that
My gear: XE2-18mm f2, 27mm f2.8
I wonder my camera with 35mm f2 or 23mm f2 it can sharp image
Should i invest in the camera body or lens?
Photo Pigpig 35mm F2 is sharper

The 56mm f1.2 you are using, is it the APD version?
Regular
Great! The exact comparison I am looking for!
Thank you for watching 😊🙏
I am getting an XT30 with 18-55 kit, i am considering either 23mm F2 or 35mm F2 to complete my kit. Any suggestion?
I like the 35mm F2 better, it is sharper at wide open in close distance
I see, thank you! I will get a 35 F2 then
great styling by model..awesome shots ... love it
Thanks so much:)
Can you please make a video comparing the 35mm f1.4 and f2 side to side?

Thank for your effort comparing these lenses, I have better idea which lenses I’ll be getting next.
Which are you getting? :)
Was in dilemma but it pretty clear that 23 f1.4 is worth getting over f2 version. With the improved AF on X-T3 it should be good enough.
Nice 👍🏼
are you using a reflector or is this 100% environmental light? I´m amazed about the dynamic range!
All environmental light :)
