- In the area of the Tour of Flanders is more than cobbles and steep climbs. Flanders gravel takes it off road. (and also up the cobbled climbs hehe) Equipped with my Gravaa wheelset I went out to Oudenaarde very early in the morning to join this event. It was not a race, there was no mass start, there was no price giving ceremony.. It was a layed back atmosphere with gravel, beer and burgers.

Hey Ben, the batteries in the wheels are only for the wireless connection with the head unit to control.
The actual energy dor pumping comes from the rotation of the wheel and does not require a battery.
In the final version the wheels should be charged about 1x per 6-8 weeks according to Gravaa.

That looked like a great ride.. Gravel tires suck .. i only run cyclocross Tires they are the best in any type of terrain
Same same but different. It's more.about the type and brand I guess, not so much about "Cyclo" or "gravel" tires...
These tires i had are great for dry and hard pack and smooth on tarmac. A wet day like this would be better with terrano WET tires🤙
@@jasperverkuijl yeah the gravel tires are too wide and they hydroplane. Cyclocross tires are thinner with more of a mountain bike tread on it. Hope all is well!

They roll super smooth on pavement!
Some of the route was gravel but a lot was cyclocross or mtb, was a bit disappointed with the parcours. Went down on the exact same spot 😂
Yes, that is Flanders. Either the road or path will not be used by cars but only tractors or its a footpath, and it will be so it will be more for mountainbikes, or it is used by cars and that means it is very likely tarmac, concrete or coubles. The road net is so dense, you can get anywhere with a road bike. Totally different in other countries (france, germany etc) where you have roads that are quite long, but they just lead to a handfull of houses, so its not worth it to use tarmac, but its still smooth enough so that those people can use their car. Those are ideal roads for gravel.
You could ague that a a gravel bike is also the best kind of bike for coubles sections. That is a good point.
Dat is exact mijn mening over zo goed als elke gravel die ik al gedaan heb in België. De enige echte GRAVEL rit is de chebacco gravel ride in Liedekerke. Echt ondergewaardeerd! Alle andere ritten zijn mtb ritten waar ze de naam gravel op hebben geplakt 👎 Ik rij zelf met 33mm banden dus het zware singletrack werk is al niet geschikt voor m'n fiets.
