    i am 85 y.o starting back after 68 year break,- only learnt for 12 months- doing the standard long notes,scales,arpeggios etc.Now onto pentatonic scales and find these short explanations and examples very helpful in making practice much more enjoyable . Giving myself 12 months to get those scales and fingering right in my head then I will be subscribing to your courses. Love your fluent playing and its what I am striving to achieve.

      wow. You're an inspiration. I'm 68 and never played. I started about 1 year ago, and have been taking private lessons all that time. I'm glad to know there ae other people like me taking up sax later in life. Good luck to you. Fingers crossed you achieve your goals.

      @@lumen-saxty-sax hi snakebite - now Heading rapidly to 88 and still putting in a couple practice sessions a day 6 days a week. A long slow repetitive learning process but as I said after a a couple of years finallysounding like a saxophone . Still getting my head around improvisation but have concentrated on reading much quicker and getting up to speed on popular jazz standards..Hang in there it does get easier but like all occupations you never stop learning.

    This was a workout that I didn't realize I needed since I know my 251s but always fun to mix up with new phrasing ideas

      This is an example improvisation over a 2 5 1 chord sequence, it’s not really a song. You can get the backing track and sheet music at www.onlinesaxacademy.com

    You might think about mentioning the concert key as well as the sax key. I think your examples are in Concert Bb, no?

    • @OnlineSaxAcademy
      @OnlineSaxAcademy  2 года назад

      Hi John, yes that’s right these are in concert Bb major. I think I might add concert key pdf to future videos.
