I am from New York but I don’t love New York. Too much hustle and bustle for me. We live in Bucks County , Pa. if you ever want a travel spot that is not city-ish. You should visit. New Hope, Peddlers Village in lahaska and Lambertville . They are beautiful in every season . But your vlgs are beautiful and seeing New York as a tourist was a lot of fun.

I hear you about NYC. I'm from a small Midwest town. I love going to NYC, specifically for Broadway shows. But, every time I go, I both love it and feel completely overwhelmed. It's like magical and dreadful at the same time.

May I suggest you take the ferry next time and come to Snug Harbor on Staten Island?! Maybe spend the day and see Historic Richmondtown, the Conference House, and/or the Tibetan Museum/Garden?! Hi Alison, You would love Governors Island, which is across from Manhattan w/ a 6 minute ferry ride. It's calming, relaxing & historic. I used to live there b4 they shut the Coast Guard Base & turned it into a tourist spot. I loved Hudson Yards & Chelsea Markewhen we visited a couple months ago. We also went to an Observatory near Grand Central Station which was awesome. We didn't make it to Brooklyn but we will when we return this Spring.

My goodness going to New York City is now like going to Disney, about 16 years ago I took my granddaughter to the Children’s Museum of Art and then had lunch at Katz , she loved the pickles the most , she was about 3yrs old , I can’t imagine having to wait on long lines and all the crowds now

The way you appreciate and get such pleasure in travel during fall, and the way you love the coziness of Christmas/winter, you just seem like someone who would love living in 4 seasons. I grew up in CA. My husband and I moved from San Francisco to Denver when our daughter was 16mo old. I have to say, even after 13 years, my heart still sings every time the leaves start to change, the first snow storm of the year arrives and the first green buds of spring appear. Having followed you for a while now, I have a hunch you would love all those things too. 😘

its always super interesting to me seeing NYC through a tourist perspective. While I don't live there, I live very close and I really didnt like it at ALL for a long time! But then I stepped away from the tourist places and into the lower manhattan area and I do quite enjoy it there. I think what you were saying about it being depressing but also magical is very true... Its also funny bc the closer you get to the city the meaner people get! Kinda funny to me, its such a steady gradient imo lol

I felt the exact same way about Time Square! It was a great to see but gave me a lot of chaotic energy and some anxiety. The first time I went to NYC I said I was never going back lol, but now that I've had time to reflect I'm eager to return. I relate a lot to how you described it as magical and miserable.

its always super interesting to me seeing NYC through a tourist perspective. While I don't live there, I live very close and I really didnt like it at ALL for a long time! But then I stepped away from the tourist places and into the lower manhattan area and I do quite enjoy it there. I think what you were saying about it being depressing but also magical is very true... Its also funny bc the closer you get to the city the meaner people get! Kinda funny to me, its such a steady gradient imo lol
