I love how this game takes you to Nice Car Dealership when buying a car.
I wish more racing games would be like this, because it seems like most racing games takes you to a dark, sketchy looking warehouse when buying a car.
I have a few fond memories of this game, I actually remember liking some of the menu music and found it somewhat fun to play in spite of its flaws. The customization at the time seemed more enjoyable to me than NFSU1's customization.
One of the issues with this game though was in fact the car list, they kinda took a page out of Polyphony Digital's book by adding multiple trims of the same car to fill out the car list. However, part of me actually liked that they did that. I think this was one of the only racing games to have both the 2nd Gen Impreza WRX and STI.
Its actually not that bad considering the game costs around 1~2dollar
I remember this game. We would stand up and cover the screen or cover the TV with a blanket whenever the loading screen comes up.

Even the Evo 7/8 are the same CT9A platform, which were also to Evo 9. Though some parts may not interchangeable.
@@divecolosio4988 Well, The CT9A chassis (Evo 7, 8 & 9) have every interchangeble parts indeed. Even nowadays people use Evo 7 tail light or Evo 7 cluster (180 km/h speedometer) to their Evo 8 or 9
Technically, Celica has different kits for pre-facelift (Wings West), facelift (Veilside) and Action Package, and RX-7 FD has C-West for the pre-facelift and the Veilside VS-D1 GT for the later model FD.
This game should've had Hondas and Acuras in it, like the S2000, sixth gen Civic (coupe), seventh gen Civic (hatchback and coupe), CR-X, Integra, NSX and the RSX. Besides Honda, the Mitsubishi 3000GT would've been good, along with the Dodge Neon, Ford Focus, Toyota MR2 (SW20), 240SX S14, Toyota Celica T200 and more. If you guys have any suggestions, I'll add them to my Extended Car Lists Wiki page.
This might be (very) late, but I just wanna get this out there. Honda was very much against street racing back then. The same reason the TXR series didn't get Hondas in their earlier titles.
As for the rest, i guess the budget is just not there.

Lexus IS300 top speeds are kinda bugged so its pointless to Full Tune it (stuck at 140 MPH)

Car list in this game kinda sucks because a lot of car were the same and duplicated.
They had diff body kits tho
And thats what really mattered
Different engines and trim levels. I loved that, felt like being into a real showroom. The game needed more cars and kits tho.

Is that all? Back then i thought it's just the starter cars and not all of them. But Hey it's street racing, and those are the cars you'd expect to see and not luxury sedans or supercars.

One of the many racing games of this gen era that used a game engine I was not a fond off due to how it felt when driving. Other games that used this particular engine include: Ford vs Chevy, Ford Mustang: The legend lives, and FnF Tokyo Drift just to name a few. This was definitely riding the train that NFS Underground set a year back. Only thing it had going for it in my eyes was the aesthetic parts you could choose for the vehicles, as they haven't appeared in other titles of that era. The car selection looks like something out of Gran Turismo with all the different kinds of trim levels being their own vehicles. Which imo should've just been options when you're customizing the base model vehicles themselves. Since it defeats the purpose of buying the lower trim ones, if the higher end ones exists.

Hondas were cut from the game due to licensing issues, there was an S2000 and a seventh gen Civic coupe.

The biggest issue is that there are 4-5 models of the same exact car, so that over 40 licensed cars doesn't mean shit 😂. Glad I got rid of this garbage game hahah.
