There is a reason why this park don’t have any attraction really high. I learned through a documentary that because of the airport that is nearby, the park isn’t allowed to build anything higher than 50 meters. (Yes, the spike of Toutatis is 51 meters, but they actually dig in the ground in order to « bypass » this rule). Considering this limitation I think they’re doing pretty well ! Anyway, love this park, love Toutatis, and thank you for showing to the world my favorite park (probably because it’s the closest to my home… but still a very good one !)

I was introduced to the Asterix universe in the early 90s in the UK, due to a Sega Master System game that became one of my favourites for a little while. I then went on to read some comics and play other games. So when I first visited Parc Asterix in 2020, I really enjoyed it. It's a great little park, and the quality of the theming really was surprising to me.

As far as the sheep are concerned, it's because the park mows all these lawns with them. They regularly change places and are sometimes underneath Pégase Express or la Trace Du Hourra, for example. 😉
And if there isn't a Screaming Swing, Drop Tower, etc it's because the park is limited in height, they can't build more than about 50 m high (that's why Toutatis has a trench).

    • @CoasterStudios

Speaking of which, I am amazed at how detailed the theming of this park is. It is very impressive!

Great park. Visited last year because of Toutatis' launch. We rode the train out from downtown Paris and hopped the bus from CDG. It took a bit over an hour. While not as convenient as some other parks to get to, it wasn't horrible. A train station at the park would be a big help. Definitely a park to visit while in Europe.

Im binging all your France vids rn because these parcs are all my childhood! Short story for this one, when i was in primary school, we hosted an exchange with a German school, and when our German penpals came over, we had explicit interdiction of taking them to Disneyland because the price point might be discriminatory to some families (when a two day pass was around 70 euros...that was before 2008!). Me and my penpal ended up spending a very wet day at Asterix, but in the end, maybe we experienced the better park of the two ;)

It's a very nice park. Visited it last summer over two days. The first day it was pleasantly crowded, but the second day there was even a long queue for one of the ice cream stands, but still got to do loads. The 3d cinema is also quite nice and so is the stunt show was fun to watch. They are one of the few offerings that let you sit down for a while. Which brings me to what the park is missing in my eyes, about two major dark rides. I would also replace Gouderix with a modern Vekoma looper (Lech style) and SOS numerobis with a modern kids coaster as well.
As for hotels, if you are by car there is an area very near the park with a lot of affordable hotels close to the highway.

Great park with flawless theming you can easily enjoy even without knowledge about Asterix. But if you really know a little more about all the characters and their dynamics, it becomes far more enjoyable. Asterix is really popular in Europe, not just France. I am not sure about the younger generation outside France, but as a non-French older guy I still get a lot of the references and you can find them really everywhere.

      @renaudabbadie8154 4 месяца назад

According to Parc Asterix's master plan, the viking land (including Goudurix) might be restructured somewhere during the 2028-2031 phase.
I speculate that 2029, being Goudurix 40th anniversary, might also be its last exploitation year before a complete replacement with a modern model like the Vekoma Bermuda Blitz for instance.
That way, they could build a well packed and themed land like Toutatis, including a restaurant, a souvenir shop, etc.
That said, I hope a 'Goudurix 2' would keep its old brother dna with a multi inversions layout and strong Gs.

Demolish Goudurix and reuse footers to build a Vekoma Bermuda Blitz!

Great review but should we really be promoting skip the line money making schemes?
People seem so ignorant to the fact that by paying up for this bribery, you're reducing the capacity for everybody else.
Not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to pay more, and if they were, the parks would then only tag ANOTHER higher level of queue jumping system on top of that. It's a pit of greed and something we shouldn't be advocating people to support.

That may be true, but the reality is the park is overcrowded and by getting the filetomatix you are drastically improving your own personal experience at the park

@@CoasterStudios again... At the expense of others.
Why can't we just ask collectively come together and stand up to the parks for our greater good?
If the parks overcrowded then they either need to expand and add more attractions or limit the amount of tickets they sell in aid of guest experience.
Your argument about improving your experience doesn't stand up, even if everyone COULD pay for it, you'd be in exactly the same boat. Queue jumping through bribery is not the answer

@@AndyKennedy chill out calling it bribery they are just trying to help enthusiasts who want to get on the rides it doesnt drastically increase the queue times anyway. dont attack them for it they are just advocating for peopl to have the best day no bribery calm down

@@t-a-r-o-n_on_top it's bribery, would you tolerate it in a supermarket? Some one with more money than you paying extra to jump in front at the check out? You probably wouldn't.
And if you want me to find some data on how much it inflates the queue lines then I'll try to, believe me from experience, when fast track is over sold it makes the normal queue unbearable, I've experienced it at universal studios and Thorpe park in the UK, ended up letting 2/3 fast track on to 1/3 standard queue and they moved so slowly whilst watching more and more people jump right in front of you makes the whole experience miserable

I used to bounce between astérix and disney when I was younger, but yeah now that they've destroyed Rock n' rollercoaster (among other things) and toutatis opened, I probably won't come back to disney until they open star wars land or something, especially with their ever-increasing pricing...
