Literally the only bad thing about Season 8 is the artstyle, everything else is bloody amazing, from an actually well-written plot and story, an amazing transformation, actual characterization of Icy and the trix (extremely refreshing since they basically had none post season 1) and the list goes on. Really, people are just denying that season 8 is good because they wanna hate on the newer seasons. They probably just looked at the artstyle, and declared that the entire season must be bad when in reality it's the complete opposite, it's JUST the artstyle that was bad. Like, I completely understand not liking the newer seasons, that's fine, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but don't judge others who genuinely like it.
