Grew up in the 80s listening to Helix!!! I still listen to Helix , instead of Cassettes & CDs, now they are on Spotify in my everyday lists!!! Much love to this Band from Ontario Canada 😊❤. Love you guys! 🥰🐱🇨🇦
I met them in Sweden 1985 when they promoted Long way to heaven. Very nice guys. I was just a kid but they treated me with so much respect and they were really interested in what I said and they were so sweet. They gave me a ticket for the show. I was only 10 years old and I got to see how you should treat your fans. I still think about how they acted and I've been a professional musician for 30 years and everytime someone asks for an autograph and take a selfie I remember these guy and treat people with dignity.
So many awesome songs- " Dream On", "Heavy Metal Love", and so many others !!!!!!! Truly one of the greatest heavy metal bands ever !!!!!!!!!!......." Make me Do Anything You Want"....Love it !!
Brian is such a classy dude. I wrote an email to him after finishing his book (he left the address in the back of it) just to say i enjoyed it, and i was a fan. I didn't think he would respond, but the next day, i got a long response from him directly. It was an awesome correspondence with a rock star.
Helix was the victims of being under publicized… they were way better than the charts indicated… If they’d have gotten the same push as (for example) Guns N’ Roses, they might’ve gotten the recognition they deserved… Great music… Awesome band!
Hey! My friend, I'm glad it didn't happen, if it did. It wouldn't be their style, but record company. For that, it made them who they truly were, RocknRoll Legend.❤
Great video! Being in my early teens in southern Ontario during the early 80's, Helix were as big to us as any band in the world! Love the stories behind the songs and videos. A few years back I was in a metal mood so I found Rock You but noticed it said UNCENSORED. I had no idea what that meant until I pressed play! Yes large and magnificent!
All I can ever think of when I see or hear of Helix is Bubbles in a scene from The Trailer Park Boys saying "Gimme a fuckin' R!" with complete disgust! Lol!
Read comments on your experiences with Canadian bands. That was only a taste of it, there were lots of them, in the 80s, some didn't have a music contract, but, played on, without one, true artist, love of playing music, you were lucky too see them play, no G_chord there, nothing but rock, like Keith Richards, playing Guitar, with only 5strings ,not 6string. 2today, i don't see that, so i just listen too the old stuff, 4piece band, is all you need, lead guitar, rythm guitar, bass guitar, and wild Drummer, RnR❤
I was invited to Planet Helix when it was still around, by the wonderful Brian and Lynda, to do an interview for DutchMetalManiac for the new CD release party of Getcher Hands Dirty. I cant post pics of the party as it was insanely oblivious to any moral psychological decent and founded law... but it was............... (Captain Kirk here) .... fun... @helix
2000yr Punk, most likely listening too Rap, bunch of Black guys, disrespecting Women. Using prerecorded music, who cannot playtheir own instruments, show me a video where they playing instruments.😂😂😂😂😂

Loved these guys! Not sure how I stumbled across them in the late 80's (probably MTV), but I always liked their sound.

Hung out at the Million Dollar Saloon many a Friday and Saturday night … good times
One of the best hard rock/metal bands of the 80’s. Do yourself a favor and BUY their albums. Don’t steal it!

Why is Mickey Rourke in this doc?! 😁
He was used too bring in the chick's n bodyguard. Now you know.😮
Trailer Park Boys anybody?
Fuck yeah!!!!
Thnx to that show I love helix
I have to ask.. Tell CAM to call me ..!!!
Where does one find the acoustic Heavy Metal Love?
helix has and unplugged album
They probably ended being in big debt to the record company like many ended up not making any money after expenses.
Bandota rules helix yesss
Thanks
Can You Remember Me..Helix.. ??....Cam.. Woodstock.. London. The Guy with The camera.. At Kitchener..Twice.. !!!
Give Give me good lovin was the song that caused ACDC to sack a producer and go with Mutt Lange
Who edited this? Why wouldn't you put the songs in chronological order?
Stories, experiences never go in order.
Drummer sounds just like Chris Farley
YUP...................
😂😂
Hind sight..... should have chosen Mutt over Stone
Possibly. Lange was a perfectionist. I love Helix, but I don't think that they had the discipline or the songs at the time to survive Mutt's OCD.
Can you believe people like Nickelback over Helix?😂

No credits anywhere. No names of the people or the instruments they played. Frustrating.
Lol
Like this story needed to be told.
You gotta better true story?
Helix = Canadian duche nozzels
Beat it Chump😄
At least they did something.
No one knows or cares about you.
2000yr Punk, most likely listening too Rap, bunch of Black guys, disrespecting Women. Using prerecorded music, who cannot playtheir own instruments, show me a video where they playing instruments.😂😂😂😂😂
"Helix = Canadian duche nozzels"
Ohh...soo edgy!
Learn how to spell...douche.
