Thank you very much . I have that exact model mazda, same colour and i presently have to change both reflectors. I had no idea what i had to do before watching this video. Thank you from Guyana, south America.
Thank you so much Jack. These type of comments are the exact reason I do these videos in the first place. I'm so glad I was able to help you. Paul in Perth, Australia.
Thanks for your help Paul. I must take the rear bumper out to fix a leak. I thought taking it out might activate the air bags, you never know with these things, so I decided to watch some RUclips videos to find out. It looks like removing the rear bumper doesn't have anything to do with the air bags. I have a 2007 Mazda 3. I was born in Cyprus but I have lived in Melbourne since 1972. First point of entry to Australia in 1972 was Fremantle port. The ship was called PATRIS. Four days later I arrived at Melbourne.
Awesome Vid Paul! I will be replacing pretty much all of the rear components in this video and watching this has made it much less daunting! Super well explained and easy to follow! Do the rear retainers just just pop out like the front ones? Keep fighting the good fight 🤙🏽 Central Coast NSW 😊
Greetings from the UK! I have to change my rear reflectors on my 3 MPS and I am sure the fixings are very similar to your Mazda’s fittings! Cheers Paul! Bence from Cheltenham, UK
Great video. Perhaps you can explain in words what you meant by half way off for the bumper because the driver side reflector is the only thing broken. How much needs to be removed and where do you stop? (Fairfax, VA about 25-30 miles from the District of Columbia, USA)
Basically, if you just undo all the fixings on the drivers side, then you will be able to bend the bumper back enough to get to the back of the driver's side reflector. The reflector is only held on with one screw, so you don't need a whole lot of access.

Greetings from the US! This video helped me get a new taillight from a scrapyard! Thanks Paul!

You'll be fine removing the rear bumper. There is no airbag stuff back there.
Great information I live in the United States of America

Aah, slightly disappointed the rear bumper has to come (partly off). Shame Mazda couldn't have designed a simple click it in system.
Ah well
True. Although it would also make that part easy to steal. It is what it is. It's a quick job. Paul.
