Unlike most gas cans with ‘safety valves’, this one is EASY to operate ruclips.net/user/postUgkx6IImIpPboNrtVJSROnpF9EnyBzRrJKP_ with one hand. Nudge the tab and press the thumb button (all with your thumb) and you’re filling your tank. I bought this to use with a pressure washer that needs frequent refilling and it’s been a blessing compared to most of the ‘safety cans’ being sold. ergonomic and easy to handle.
So did it work? My 83 Toyota Tercel 4x4 wagon was leaking, used JB Weld Steelstik and it stopped the leak, for now. A real life saver till I buy the Tercel a new tank.
First thing to do is protect the underbody by squirting drain oil EVERYWHERE. It won't bring metal back, but it will greatly retard the rust from spreading.
So, did the JB-Weld putty last, 2 years in? Also, I'd put some plywood on top of those 2x4 pieces if you're going to put the scissor jack there. By themselves they could buckle in either direction. And, don't use WD-40 on rusty and stuck fasteners. Use a real penetration oil like PB Blaster. Finally I'd treat all that rust down there, with fluid film. Getting it all off, treating the bare metal then sealing it with something like POR-15 or epoxy paint would be ideal but it's very time-consuming (ask me how I know), so this would be a reliable shortcut.
JB Weld is awesome on everything I have used it on as long as you have the right stuff for the right application but they have a bunch of great products.
Tried to get some Old Milwaukee before settling in to catch-up. No luck in my loop of errands this evening. But Woodford Reserve tasting quite nice on a cold PA evening! Keep up the good work.
i would cordless drill wire brush it clean , run self tapping flat head sheet metal screw half way in then j.b. and finally gently tighten screw till just bottoms out then more j.b. should get you thru till you find better tank . * screw for stove flu should work nicely
@@JimmyMeatwhistle if possible put air hose inside tank where gas cap goes then purge fumes till you cant or barely detect fumes and itll be fine . I believe this will work well till you can find 1 . Cheers !

How about on a fuel line? Got a yard truck that is so rusty can't take off many things, lol gas tank held on by ratchet straps. Use it to plow my driveway. But I'm in so much trouble if I can't get this fixed. Won't be able to get out and no one to plow. Everyone said they won't, long dirt road with lots of incline. Hi Wes. It's holding up perfectly. Somebody said in the comments that I'll have to replace the tank at some point but I don't think so lol. no issues 👍👍

Very good advice, the protective coating has deteriorated and that rust has not left much metal. I’m going to do what you said

lol awesome outro!!
Fluid film my boi lol. I've been shplorting it all over my gas tank thats all crusty at the seams and its been holding together for a while

How's it holding up 1 year later?
I sold a vehicle but as far as I know, it's still holding.

I think it will leak again since not clean enough.
I would have put a screw and rubber washer in it
For a hole like that just drop the tank. It's not hard. Fill it with water. Drain it. Then weld the hole. Your done
