VVS is someone who reminds me of the phrase "Cricket is a gentleman's game'. I feel so lucky to have grown up watching the best Indian test batting lineup..Sehwag, Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly and VVS.

I am a huge SRT and Sunny fan, but to me the two greatest knocks that turned Indian cricket 1. Kapil 175 without that there would have never been the SRT, VVS RD, Dada generation, 2. VVS 281 which opened up Indian cricket, that moved us forward in the test stage. There have been lots of gr8 innings which are likely better, but these two were the biggest defining innings that shaped our cricket. See the humility of this generation. I

There are a few batsmen or cricketers for that matter who are beyond even numbers. Sometimes, numbers trivialise the greatness of a cricketer. VVS was one that numbers couldn't define. He never needed the 10,000s or the 30+ 100s to make him great. He delivered when it mattered! Cometh the hour, cometh VVS! Hence, Laxman was 'VERY VERY SPECIAL'!

I watch this every few months .. and feel so happy watching them like this... but also sad that today although team mates are dudes and buddies, they dont seem the same..maybe generational stuff..but Sachin, Dravid, VVS, Ganguly, Anil and that entire era was something else.. same with the 1983 side, they are still a family..

I don't know why I always felt that VVS Laxman could gain more Success in ODI Cricket than that he got in test cricket. He had a great capability to score runs with higher strike rate but he didn't get the adequate chance and moral support to prove himself in ODI Cricket. Atleast I believe it.

Great episode and so much to cherish my days of watching matches when Fab 6 used to play. But i played a recording of 2006 SA series and could not find this Shower incidence on the recorded series. SA declared only in second test at durban which India lost but sachin only went to play at number 4. Am i wrong or watched some wrong footage on you tube.
