Even though I wished Puss in Boots won the Oscar for best animated feature, Rango deserved it, Rango is a film I wish people recognize and bring up more in conversations.
Oh this movie 100% deserved the Oscar. As good as Puss in Boots was, everything in this felt like a true gritty western mixed with a documentary on desert wildlife
A joke with double meaning. Kids would laugh at the surface (the bullet was the last escape route and failed humorously), while adults would laugh at the hidden reference (it's pretty obvious what Plan B stands for)
The funny thing that I like about this movie is it’s so realistic. An 8 year old kid can say “This new movie looks sick!” Though it isn’t new, this movie is a decade old.
The fact that this movie looks incredibly realistic & focuses so much on attention to detail, goes to show that the creative team really DID care! Outside of Rango, him having a thin body & crooked neck, every other character looks like they belong to the real world. This whole movie feels like one giant PS4/PS5 game cutscene & I love it!
There was a lot of innuendo in this film. One scene had a discussion about an enlarged prostate. Another had a character mishearing “thespian” for something else. There was also a Barbie doll in which Rango asks it “are those real?” It’s all still quite funny though and probably went over many kids heads

I feel like there’s some symbolism in the phrase “It only takes one bullet,” when talking to Rattlesnake Jake, who uses a Gatling Gun, a weapon meant for firing many, many bullets. Heck, in the last scenes’ context, the phrase means just one bullet, not even a gun needed; Just one. bullet.
That should happen! Forget about Spongebob, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and other Nickelodeon characters. This movie is the G.O.A.T of all of the Nickelodeon movies!

I love the detail of how Jake's expressions start to tell how he starts to question if it really is the best option to be on the Mayor's side, right after Rango says "Try Me" (Even as the Mayor is talking, you can see Jake looking in shock at Rango)
Man me and my younger brother really watched this movie way way back them and we watched it over and over it was just that good, I still remember seeing the trailer for it if the eagle running into the cactus good times

A hawk can snatch a snake (even a large one) from the ground without it noticing and killing it by simply dropping it. These aren't the most effective guns either, not the fastest rounds and a hawk have keen sights, it can see way ahead and see where the bullets are going to go easily.
With every skinning lake gets a new revolverdrum added to his rattle. Of course he loads the bullets into those drum one bullet after another, like normal people would do. Dont try to ruin cartoonlogic, thats the magic of it!
