    Even stock sounds good! One thing i learned is that you don't need to invest hundreds of dollars if you are new to building your first mechanical keyboards. I used the same boards and switch, added some pe foam and polyfill, got some spacebar dampners and mine is thocky heaven! I'm so happy with my keyboard! The GMK 67 is such an amazing budget-friendly board for new keyboard enthusiast , i hope ur video inspires new peeps to build their very first board too :)

    Hi! Just a quick question, are you supposed to tear down that plastic? This is the only video of the newer versions of the keyboard I've seen do this and I have the exact same newer version. Would love your help! Amazing video!!

    • @sc.studio
      @sc.studio  9 месяцев назад

      I actually realized since making this video that it's actually meant to be there. That being said, I understand that it's an acoustic option so it's no problem to remove it.
      I have another GMK67 on the way so I'm going to keep it on this one!

      @@sc.studio Hi! I know this is a late reply, but I am in the same boat, and I do not know what to do with the plastic. Should I just punch the switches (not too hard because I don't want to mess up the pins obviously) through the plastic, or should I make a hole in the plastic with maybe tweezers? What if loose plastic is just hanging in that center hole- is that an issue? So many questions, SORRY!

      @@s1xty13 Hi! I wanted to come back to this and thank you again for the reassurance! I finally did my build, and the switches were a little annoying for me to do, but punching through the plastic worked fine! I will say, when I finished the build (used akko cream blues), my 'n' and 'v' keys weren't working, and when I pulled them out, both had bent pins. It looks like they didn't go fully through the plastic (and I'm not blaming anyone else but myself here, it's only my fourth build), but I put two new switches in and the board works perfectly now, and sounds great! Thank you for helping, and hopefully if anyone else gets worried this will reassure them (even though I'm sure I'm one of the very few who did worry)!

      I think it's a PET film used to protect the pcb, you can take it out and put it on top of the pcb(?) so that the keyboard will have a more marbly/soft sound signature. This may not be intentional because it isnt mentioned in the site

      If you're standoffish about aliexpress but you're curious, one thing to look out for is orders. Next to the item you wanna buy it shows how many of that item the seller has sold. If the reviews are good and they've sold 1000s, that's probably a safe seller. Now, if the price looks too good to be true and the seller has only sold 1-3 items...that's a no-go for me.
