Very fashion forward Ash. I’ve never worn a summer scarf but will try the last two options. We all need a pop of celebrity from time to time! Thank you sir! I’m saluting you back.
Ash. I’m an American with a serious scarf obsession, and , in particular, Drake’s scarves from your wonderful land, a place and people I adore to visit. This post was both helpful and a lot of fun. Thank you.
Ever since I was a lad and saw Roy Rogers wearing those colorful, flowing silk neckerchiefs, I have been a neckerchief addict. I love the feel and look of silk around my neck .
I must say, I was a little skeptical about the neckerchief making any significant improvement to a plain shirt but I was wrong, what a fantastic addition!
Number 4 at 5:40 is how my great grandfather from Wales wore his silk scarves. I don't think he had a proper "cravat", he just wore silk scarves as cravats with open necked shirts, jumpers etc. He was always very particular about his clothing and his handmade brogues. A very dapper little man with jet black hair, very dark complexion.
I"m in central Florida and 2 days before New Years Eve I'm wearing a silk ascot and sweating.....but refuse to take it off because I like how it looks. Florida may have been the wrong choice to move to. Don't remember it being this warm this time last year.
Hello Ash, I so happen to also love scarfs; I own 12; silk, polyester, suede and cotton / rayon. I just love neck wear and I gladly adopted the British style; most 1960's rock bands from that country who I absolutel adore; Mick Jagger, Steve Winwood, Steve Marriot, Rod Stewart, Jimmy Page, etc, etc, etc. I love those guys. Stewart Granger was a known cravat wear and he looked good in it too.
Just used your discount code to buy myself an ‘Aviator’ and a couple of pocket squares - very reasonably priced and I can’t wait to try them out! Many thanks, Ash.
So I guess I have double duty scarves- I have a couple Hermeś silk scarves. Sometimes I wear them as an ascot, now I can also wear them as summer scarves. Thank you!
thank you sir. number five was something I've been looking for for a long time. It looks very much like the way a working man in the 1920s would wear a scarf. And it was that simple.
No4 looks ace Ash. Other ways of wearing it need some investigation... I do like the idea of a nice cool piece of silk around the neck when hot. I'm wondering whether something 'quieter" when left flapping outside though! cheers again.
Thanks ash for introducing Soho scarves. I just recently their bohemian neckerchief which has modal. I like to where it on the outside of the collar if I’m wearing a shirt with one. I find a scarf a bit to much in the warmer season even if it’s light weight. The neckerchief can double as a headband I found. I hope I can wear it to any trips I have this summer.
Wonderful as always. I am putting a made to measure three piece tweed suit. This is a fabulous channel. Ash your knowledge and style earn you many kudos. Best Bill
Hello Ash, an interesting one this time. Cravat, yes for sure. Long flowing summer scarf, hmm not so sure... The thing is you would look good wearing a bicycle chain around you neck and a fruit box on your head. Still I might give it a go, I can always say I arrived in my Spitfire, Tally Ho !
Especially in the heat of July and August, I find it useful to wear a light silk scarf around my neck, which provides my outfit with a splash of colour and visual interest, but does not necessitate that I wear my shirt with the top button done up. I find the texture of a silk scarf beautifully compliments the light, open weave of a linen shirt and linen trousers as well. Top things off with a Panama hat, and you've got a look that elevates you above most of the men you will encounter on the street.
Ash, as always, thank you for your help. I’m not sure why it was sent to me, but I received a 90x90 mm. imitation silk scarf some months ago perhaps from China via Amazon. I’d never thought it’d be something I could wear, but following your directions, I dutifully tied it in a loose tie knot ‘round my neck, and I think it looks great! I’ll definitely give SoHo’s site a try as well. All the best!
Silk scarfs are more commonly associated with women these days, however when I checked out Soho from another video of yours I fell in love with the small repeating pattern scarf as it looked just like the small repeating pattern on a tie. It certainly looked masculine There is a new younger co-worker at my place that does not wear anything close to a suit but he does love long coats and scarfs; it is nice to see.
I noticed that there's a rather nautical connection to wearing neck wear. You see that in the US Navy uniforms and any old sailor costume would feature some kind of scarf, cloth, bandana on or around the neck. Of course it served a rather practical purpose of protection against the sun, wiping sweat or other dirt and debris and for signalling if necessary. It makes sense that it would migrated into other branches of military uniform like you see with the US cavalry, military police, and other units.
I'm guessing the chapter titles were auto generated because the last one says "naked chief" instead of neckerchief. lol. Thanks for the info though, i've gotta try to work this into my wardrobe
Omg I freaking love this guy. So encouraging about adding flare to your outfit!
I've been using all of these knots for the last few years with my silk scarves. Nice to see you do the same thing.
very much enjoyed your energy. I love summer scarves. Instead of a tie, it gives a more fun vibe
Yes. This is my next purchase. A touch of nonchalance and dandyness is what one needs in Summer. Thank you so much again.

Thank you.
I have a serious scarf obsession. It’s why I wanted to be a Cub Scout.
Hello Ash, Numbers 4 & 5 are also a great way to help avoid getting the dreaded ring around the collar. Thanks for another great video.
Very true!
Ever since I was a lad and saw Roy Rogers wearing those colorful, flowing silk neckerchiefs, I have been a neckerchief addict. I love the feel and look of silk around my neck .
Silk cravats will always be the boss!!!
I can believe you just made me realize I have been looking for an ascot for the last 13 years. Thats what I should have been wearing.
Thanks i just bought a dolce and gabbana paisley scarf - was wondering how to wear. 👍
I must say, I was a little skeptical about the neckerchief making any significant improvement to a plain shirt but I was wrong, what a fantastic addition!
I have been addicted to silk neckerchiefs since I was a little boy.
The neckerchief is light cravat territory which is good. Puts me in mind of David Essex in 'The River' series. They don"t make em like that anymore!

Gives you more material to play with than a regular cravat, too - good for bullnecked guys like me!
@@tomgreeves9248 good point. I'm 19' around the gizzard too
@@MisterBurtonshaw We can pay a price for being mighty! But it's worth it.
@@tomgreeves9248 Well, I should eat a bit less ;)
@@MisterBurtonshaw Likewise, brother.
This is a great look for a summer mediterranean cruise.
Thanks Ash, I live in a topical climate so all your information is extremely helpful in selecting the right silk scarf.
I"m in central Florida and 2 days before New Years Eve I'm wearing a silk ascot and sweating.....but refuse to take it off because I like how it looks. Florida may have been the wrong choice to move to. Don't remember it being this warm this time last year.
Excuse me, can I know the dimension of the last neckerchief you showed ?
Is it 50cm x 50cm ?

Wow that's really cool; I never thought of making an ascot from a scarf like that. Well done Ash.

Soho do some excellent accoutrements - great colours
So I guess I have double duty scarves- I have a couple Hermeś silk scarves. Sometimes I wear them as an ascot, now I can also wear them as summer scarves. Thank you!
When I wear my safari jacket, I do the neckerchief under the shirt, as you did, but with the knot in the back. Changes my personality!
Just the other day I was thinking about summer scarves... and here you are again!
thank you sir. number five was something I've been looking for for a long time. It looks very much like the way a working man in the 1920s would wear a scarf. And it was that simple.
Very informative. I have seen the neckerchief option rolled in the opposite way so the small pointy parts are away from the neck.

Love the different ways of using scarf around your neck. Thanks for showing on u tube.
You are so welcome!
Got 3 scarfes from Soho, thanks for the link provided

Together after suit.
Absolutely spot on!
Thank you, Sir... such a nice taste of wearing scarves!

Tally ho!!
Our Cowboys of the American west are a stylish lot. Excellent video Ash!
I adored Roy Rogers with his huge, colorful silk neckerchiefs.
Good comedy value, I laughed all the way through it.
I'm going to check out Soho Scarfs now, see what they have.

Useful for the summer weather in Scotland

no 4 method for summer is my favourite

Can one wear a summer scarf without a coat? Thx!
Yes sir. Yes you can.
Personnally i use the last one, but i let the spikes out.
Wonderful video :) I must say while I'm here.. Same music that Dankpods uses in his headphone comparison videos ;)
Outstanding!!
