- The calm before the storm. That's a good way to describe this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans. With new prototypes from Cadillac, Ferrari, Peugeot, Porsche, and potentially more coming next year, this race is likely to boom in popularity. Here's a guide to this year's race to hopefully get you on the front of that hype train.

Few corrections that were announced since I recorded this last night:
2:50 - GTE Pro is confirmed to be gone next year. GTE Am staying until 2024. GT3 coming in 2024 as Pro/Am class.
3:34 - Ferrari were given slightly more turbo boost in an update on Friday, and Alpine has been handed a 13 HP reduction again.
4:12 - Nyck de Vries has been announced as the replacement. The car will no longer be able to compete in the Pro/Am subcategory because Nyck is Platinum rated.
Thanks for the Preview. I couldn't make it down there this year and just trying to get caught up - this got me up to speed really quickly.
I can't wait for this race, I lost my job recently so I'm able to attempt to watch the whole race, I'm gonna need a lot of tea!
Sorry about that
Ah sorry to hear that man. Good luck on staying up all 24!
Thanks guys but no need to be sorry I can watch the whole Le Mans trouble free!
Good luck the
Can’t wait for the race! Hopefully Corvette can get their win this year
This will be the 10th Le Mans that I have watched starting in 2013. This sport is absolutely addicting. I’m a huge Toyota fan but this race in particular always has me nervous about reliability. 2016 is seared into my memory. Great preview video!
Yeah it is certainly addicting, I can't get enough - perfect marriage of man-machine & Le Mans is the jewel in the crown.
2016 was properly heart breaking for Toyota. I was there and saw the #2 car dropping out, they really fought hard for it and felt like they deserved it. I wasn't a big Toyota guy then but I think they've been really good for the sport, they deserve to do well in a competitive field. I must have watched Kobayashi's record lap 100 times now. Good for them, this year I'll be cheering them on.
Wear do you guys watch it ? Its not on YT right ?
Help me out here ? All options are geo-locked for me
My predicitions for the class winners
...
Hypercar: Alpine. Both Toyota's have had their sheer amount of bad luck this year with reliability. Sure, the Alpine is gonna struggle keeping up because of it's fuel tank size but I've seen stranger things happen.
LMP2 : #41 WRT : I jinxed them last year unfortunatly and hopefully this time lightning doesn't strike twice. I've seen this car win at spa in ELMS last year in person.
GTE PRO: Corvette. Perhaps the final chance for the C8R to win le mans before maybe having to skip out for 2024. Plus i got a friend that's a big Corvette fan and was super happy with their front row lockout.
GTE AM : euh... Iron dames Ferrari ? Don't know much about the AM teams so i just gonna choose the one i know best
Looks like your predictions didn't checked out. In reality:
Hypercar: it's a Toyota 1-2, and Glickenhaus got their maiden Le Mans podium
LMP2: JOTA took the dub when the #31 WRT got crashed (in which for me it's demoralizing as an Indonesian since Sean Gelael is one of the drivers of that car)
GTE Pro: Both Vettes retired, especially with the #64 got bumped by a twitched-out AF Corse LMP2, and thus, Porsche took the dub
GTE Am: TF Sport Aston Vantage wins that class

Yeaaaaaah i suddenly remembered these. I'm most upset about the Corvettes though. They finally were in the hotseat to win with the C8... Even though it took a tire failure on the 92 to bring them back in contention. WRT was just nowhere it seems, iron dames ran into problems early on and Alpine just got f**ked mostly by BoP changes before the race. While Toyota did get that 1-2, they dodged a bullet with the 8 having issues like at spa.
@@effisjens1776 fr, if #31 hadn't been bumped into that United car at the start, thus getting a 1 min. Stop-go, they wouldn't have to push so hard like that, they just have to chill at the front of the class and fend off any attacking cars if they can, but oh well, that's the way the cookie crumbles...
Hey man, great video. Can’t wait for the race to start. Keep up the good content.
Nice and condensed. All you need to know, is in there. Well done!
Fantastic insight, you gave a far better synopsis than anything FIA has put out. I'm a big IMSA fan and haven't followed Le Mans as closely but I'm going to watch the whole thing this year.
Thanks again GT Rain! 🤘
Hey man thanks this really helps. I'm a new fan new to endurance racing but ur videos r perfectly clear an so easy to understand keep up the good work bro an thanks again from Ireland 🇮🇪
Alonso would have a better chance of winning in the Le Mans Alpine than the F1 car.
Thanks man, subscribed
I’m kinda confused what happend to lmp1?
Replaced last year by the Hypercar class. Costs in LMP1 became too high and most of the major manufacturers except Toyota left. Hypercar will have the addition of Peugeot, Porsche, Cadillac, and Ferrari over the next year.
Where can I watch free?
Underrated channel
i love your channel ❤
thanks
can't wait for the other Hypercars to join 😁😁😁😁
Great video again Chris!
Le Mans!
where can i watch the race for free in Brazil?
Star+ might have the race in Brazil. They have the Latin Am and South American rights. Otherwise, the WEC app, but neither are free.

11 JUNE 1955 LE-MANS DISASTER =11 JUNE 2022>THIS IS THE ONLY TIME SINCE 1955 IN 67 YEARS THAT THE RACE HAS BEEN RUN ON THIS DATE.
See below 2 letters I have emailed to every race team entering this years 24 Hours of Le-Mans, I have also emailed my suggestions to the ACO and forwarded a cop of these 2 letters to them.>
Please, consider, with great respect, my request !
At 6,26pm on lap 35 on the 11 June 1955 at Le-mans a catastrophic/disaster occurred that took the lives of 83 spectators plus French racing driver Pierre Levegh, also injured or maimed were approximately 200 other people.
This was and still is the biggest catastrophic disaster in motor racing history.
The above mentioned disaster is not common knowledge, I believe it would be an honourable decent human gesture to show and acknowledge respect to all of those people who lost their lives or were injured in any way shape or form, by observing 1 minute of silence before the forthcoming race, and also for each participating team at the end of the race to dedicate this 11 June 2022 race to all of the people who were effected by that shocking catastrophe on 11th June 1955.
I have emailed a copy of this email to all the other participating Le-Mans race teams.

Dear race team manager.
Regarding my previous email,
Further to my previous email of 31st May 2022, I have been contacted by several people who are involved with or taking part in the forthcoming race at Le-Mans, they are now considering my earlier request.
I would like to clarify to yourself what I was trying to say in my previous email of the 31st May!
See below>
I would be Eternally grateful if every race team participating at this years 24 hours of LE-MANS 11 June 2022 could collaborate together with the ACO to officially arrange and observe 1 minute of Silence before the race and also for all the race teams to dedicate this race to all the people who died or were injured or effected in any way shape or form by the catastrophic disaster on 11 June1955.
I am sincerely grateful for your help
Kindest Regards
