When it come to a handheld, sure some have better specs then a steam deck. I want to get one from a company that won’t screw you over for warranty repair.
Asus broke my ally on the 27/7/24 and have yet to patch the software the rog x got an update on the same date so I see what's priority, they'll never get another penny off me, ordered the oled deck (here now) as I had the lcd and loved it, at least I can be sure if valve breaks something on it they'll not wait months then patch it.
@@TheMasterblaster32lol man you fanboys kill me… the steamdeck is not better than the rog ally and the best part we are getting steam Os which stinks because it can’t play most triple A games
I think the reason why you see the steamdeck running well and better than other competitors is that the steamdeck's console is the OS... Linux OS and Proton compatability library gives you the ability to tune the console/OS all the way to even rebuilding the kernel and optimize the libraries like proton to further optimize for the hardware which in steamdeck's case is well defined and determined. On the other hand with other handhelds you have some generic locked down windows OS and locked down drivers leaving you with little tuning channels , maybe only the user layer tuning
Unfortunate that the Quest 2 was your last Quest, the 3 was a huge jump in visual quality and the mixed reality experience seriously elevates its usability.
the streaming patents are likely primarily for the deckard considering how streaming steamvr to the meta quest 3 seems to be the generally accepted "best vr experience for the price" right now, but latency in vr is a real concern since the bandwidth is insane meanwhile streaming to the steam deck is already pretty much lagless, streaming 90fps has lower latency than playing 60fps native with wifi6E + AV1, it's honestly mindblowing
"It shot up the list and now it's at number 5 thanks to the Steam Deck" Just because it's high on the list does absolutely not mean the Steam Deck had anything to do with it...

Hey, I recently discovered this channel (after discovering you on CZworld's halloween videos actually) and it's very interesting. I bought Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit thanks to you and I had a scary but pretty good time with it, so thanks for the advice :)
Diablo 4 has become way better with S4 and S5. Best new feature for S5 is the Mind Cage stacking. I have a leveling game I like to play during Helltides, it's called, Last of the Barbarians. It goes like this. During the Helltide ritual, pop 3 mind cages and don't die. Daniel Day-Lewis, "Just stay a live".
something awesome for the steam deck would be sort of like the psvr1's little egpu-like box that enabled vr with a slight performance boost. something you could just kind of wear or connect to with a long cable for vr play. edit: you're definitely pandering too much to valve with your comment about the index. the index is extremely overpriced for where vr is now and is not worth it in the slightest. the best affordable pcvr experience you can get is a quest 2 or 3.
You speaking slower has brought me back into watching your videos, it got hard to listen before but I didn't want to comment rudely telling you to slow it. Good job bro
I just pulled the trigger on the OLED deck. I’m nervous they will release a deck 2 this year or next and then I’ll regret it…. Any suggestions? Return it and wait?
Hey Mateys got my deck the other month and been following you ever since, d4 went on sale for us in Aus at least on steam yesterday so it's all loaded and installed. I'll see if you dropped your steam name in other comments but I'm keen to join if it's easy to!
Heard there was an official update where Windows works on the OLED deck, officially supported. Is it just the OLED or would the OG steam be able to handle it as well?
remote play from pc on steam deck was not a pleasant expirience despite being 1 room from pc, and stable gigabit internet, for some reason half of the times i've tried it it would show around 15 fps when playing longer than 10 minutes, also you need to add ea launcher as a non steam game from pc, if you want to play any game that connects to it.
Yes I know about it, but the default shouldn't be that high. Additionally there should have been more pauses, speedy or not, so that segments are better structured and can be processed better. It's been a small request, it got fulfilled so obviously it resonated with Jimmy and a bunch of people commented they liked the new speed. If you don't mind either way why don't you use the speed modifier setting?

Let me tell you a secret... Consoles are PCs as wells, just with hardware and software dedicated for gaming... you know... the same as the Steam Deck! When you don't do many hardware variations or software optimization... it's easier for the 1st and 3rd parties to make every game run great on that piece of hardware. As a developer you know how your game will run on every single Steam Deck user hardware, because it will be the same as yours! Having many variations of hardware will make software developers have to make a choice for which specs the game is going to be optimized for. You know how these last couple years there are plenty of lazy Unreal Engine 5 games with "auto-optimization" that disregards costumers hardware and just runs great on latest hardware? That CAN'T happen on consoles, it has to run great on that hardware no matter what, and that is why devs struggle making Xbox Series S versions or Nintendo Switch versions, because if you want to get that playerbase you HAVE to make the game run great on that hardware. I hope valve only release new hardware with significant performance difference, and I mean over 50% more performance AT LEAST. Different from PCs where you can upgrade any part as you like, consoles need to be entirely replaced, so it has to be a meaningful replacement. If they do a new hardware per couple of years, the OS will not be really optimized as it should, because the easier solution will always be "Let's build a more powerful hardware to solve this performance issue.", and that is just disrespectful with any costumer.
@DeckReady my brother in christ bazzite. 55-60 fps on the legion go zero stutters. The z1 extreme is significantly more powerful than the vangogh chip. The deck is not beating it at anything aside from performance per watt at lower tdp, but battery life is for nerds anyway.
My steamdexk shuts off about 2 minutes into playing any game I download… I literally have to use geforce experience to play ANYTHING without my deck crashing. Doesn't matter if it's blasphemous or if its no rest for the wicked. They all crash. I'm gonna buy a new deck and probably sell this one. I love the deck but relying on geforce to properly play games doesn't feel right. If I have the same experience then I'm just gonna switch to a stream only device especially if it doesn't work, please let me know the second time.
And Steam has had Remote Play for a while too... it used to be called something else but in your (Playstation's) defense it wasn't always as good as it is now.
And Super Nintendo owners have been able to play their Gameboy games on the TV since the 90's, if you're gonna make it a competition, at least make sure to not use a company known for copying everything Nintendo does first.
