This was my very first elevator ride as a child. Thanks to this elevator I hate going over the 10th floor lmao. We had to ride the regular elevator back down lol #memories
Beautiful elevators! Love those doors on the 72nd floor! Also, a lot of people might disagree agree with me, but Adams Survivor fixtures like these actually look nice IMO!
I have been on the Space needle in Seattle during thanksgiving break and I saw a hole lot going on like remodeling the floors and the restaurant was complexly closed.
This is still one of my favorite elevator videos of all time. The vibes are insane, almost silent ride in the fog. I've always wanted to ride these in fog like this, but never got the chance to. These are so awesome, I just wish they ran at full speed.
@DieselDucy I got to a week or two ago. I was with my friend. Btw the mod is NOT holding up well. The glass cars are leaking water, pretty much every car has flooring issues, and car 8 has a bad machine bearing. The Hilton needs a complete overhaul. The Westin was modded only a few years apart, and those still run like butter even today.
This was very enjoyable! The 72nd floor view was awesome & the second elevator looked better as far as the flooring lol; This was my first time to see Atlanta & it was amazing
That's an amazing view! Thanks for posting, incase I never get to re-visit Atlanta for the 1st time since June 2008 when I was there for a family reunion. I never got to see downtown Atlanta close up back then. I just saw it from a far distance.
Too bad is was foggy, the view must be incredible on a clear day. Personally that's my favorite building in Atlanta, very unique design. The original lobby atrium had this huge "lagoon"/water feature, like 1/3rd of the floor space was taken up by water and there were these "pods" with little bridges that went out into the lagoon. Had a huge water fountain, lots of plants. Very 70's/80's, indoor water features were the thing back then. I can see why they ripped it out though, huge maintenance expense and makes the inside of the building humid/musty smelling.
@@qeelevators2960 they actually give machine room tours too?! Why doesn't every building do this?!! I'm so glad I subbed to this channel, and read the comments!☺️

That is a nice view. That is 72 stories and 723 feet high. I went to The Devon Tower in OKC and was on the 49th floor and that was 726 feet high. The Devon Tower has huge size floors that are like 15-16 feet high.
Amazing ! But these are kinda slow for 72-storey building. These should have been going faster than high-rise bank ( 1200ft/min ) but the speed is that of the low-rise bank ( 500ft/min ) . Nice scenic glass elevators.
@@zsombor_99 I love the glass elevators.I was just saying that I like the long ride because you have more time to see, but if I lives there everyday, I wouldn’t like the slow elevators.
I kind of want it to change like yours go up to the highest floor and go and that door close thing you like on it works well kind of slow down on it and probably go to different floors
So today I got to see the main and machine room for these. The TK tech had to get buzzed in to get on the roof and the motor room for these is super tight. It is also glass door you get a cool view. Same 219HT machines as main ones, but they slowed them down because the ride was “too short”
@@DieselDucy Nope. There is literally a room where there are a few thyssenkrupp techs in the basement. In the next mod these will be TK. There are a few original lexan hydros but those are soon to be modded. It’s so cool how this machine room is all glass.
I’m not afraid of heights but something about these elevators is literally the freakiest thing to me ever. Maybe it’s the other buildings that you rise above or the thought that one cable snapping is all it takes I know it’s irrational asf but I can’t help be terrified of these
Same goes to the East Tower at Marriott World Center. Their speed is 700 FPM. Marriott Marquis Times Square (their own Schindler Miconic 10) was 1300 FPM. Marriott Copley Place (Former Westinghouse. Now TK) was like 350 to 800 FPM. Even if I come here. I should check how fast this thing goes by doing a speed test

I think the tallest elevator by service height I have ever ridden was at the Excalibur Casino in Las Vegas with 28 floors. With that said, there is a condominium tower in my area that has a 34-story service height.
one of these years, they are actually going to buile a elevator like this BUT as it goes up, the whole elevator tilts Forward into sorta of a leaning position which would make the ride up or down even more fun......LOL

Maybe they should take the enclosed elevator instead!

Not all that unique actually: sister buildings with the central tower of Detroit’s Renaissance Center
Do they still have a restaurant on the top? Ate their over 30 years ago.....
That's a nice Otis. Good video Andrew

Cool! Where is this? It's not in the title or the video.
This is the Westin Peachtree Plaza hotel in downtown Atlanta GA
I would never ride this elevator, it goes way too high with the windows
The Sundial elevators are on the east side of the tower!
This is so cool!
I was at this hotel 2 weeks ago
Nice Elevators
Why is this elevator have buttons only for 1-9 and 72❓ 😲
It’s a express elevator for the restaurant
It doesn't even serve floors 1-4 or 7. 6, 8 & 9 are always locked so it's only 5 & 72.
@@elevcarwashsirensandmore21 it’s a truly 67 floor express

they have some cool stuff.
As to what I requested Dieselducy.

I believe that the high rise elevator in the Marquis has a higher overall top speed.
It does. These are slow. For observation purposes
5 is the main floor. Rare
Why is the loobby level 5
Common on big buildings downtown, first few floors might be retail, office, meeting space, etc.
Rode this elevator in the Spring of 1985 with my Prom Date on our Prom night-
Awesome 🤩
Dieselducy did schindler modernize the inside buttons? Cause door close does not work.
Charlie Gallivan Obviously NO. Just because it doesn’t work doesn’t mean it’s Schindler. You must not know anything Elevators.
Schindler alway has bad door closed buttons.

That lift is to slow for the floors it serves. It needs to be a bit faster
