I'm 48 now and still ride. Had a huge wipe out 2 days ago.....still feeling it where back then we'd have been straight back at it?

He was the guy that got them to write their own songs, and to break the boundaries and be comfortable with being different. David Gilmour was the one with a lot of talent and a strong work ethic that made Pink Floyd "Pink Floyd". In the same way, I think, Jay Adams is the "Syd Barrett" of the Z-Boys, where Tony Alva plays the role of David Gilmour.

The irony is the that dogtown fell because people soon found out that surf style didn't work for progressive moves. It wasn't until people went back to the more upright style that the moves left the z boys in the dust forever. Lots of hype surrounding the z boys. They got beat time after time in the pool contests.
kinda sucks how tony alva doesn't have a name like tony hawk. alva has done more for skating then any other skater in the world, but his name rarely gets mentioned.
