- All in the Family was a sitcom that aired on CBS for nine seasons, from January 12, 1971, to April 8, 1979. It followed a working-class family living in Queens, New York, with an outspoken, narrow-minded, and seemingly prejudiced patriarch named Archie Bunker. His wife Edith is sweet and understanding, though very naïve, with Archie sometimes calling her a "dingbat". Their one child, Gloria, is more like her mother- kind and good-natured, but displays flashes of her father's stubbornness and temper. Gloria, however, is a feminist, and she is married to the college educated Michael - who Archie refers to as "Meathead"- because of his counter culture values shaped by the 1960s. But what happened to the cast after the show ended?

Always liked O'Connor's acting. He should also be remembered for what is probably the most moving PSA commercial ever done. His candid talk about their son's losing battle with substance abuse was touching.
Every episode of All in the Family was like seeing great theater. The entire cast was simply brilliant.
Fact: Sally Struthers was the voice of a teenage Pebbles Flintstone in "The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show" on CBS Saturday morning from the early 1970s.
One of the best most honest portraits of a real family
Thanks for letting us know about them after the show!
All In The Family & The Jeffersons are still very important shows to this day.
I asked my granddaughter born in 2001, she has no idea what all in the family was or who any of these people were.
@@charlesbaldo That's why these shows are important, for education.
@@DaddyOfTheSugarVariety I really don't see any educational value, they were promoting ideologies and political opinions. Meathead offers a lot of political opinion, nothing different than he does today. I enjoyed the shows as a teenager because they were different, but see them as unwatchable today.
@charlesbaldo It teaches about why racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, is wrong. It talks about rape, suicide, hate crimes, abortion. It also teaches people to think logically and rationally when it comes to religion. All still relevant.
@@DaddyOfTheSugarVariety so it must not have done a good job teaching it if it's still a problem today. Personally I didn't need Hollywood to tell me those things were wrong, did you? it was about tv ratings. Generating money for the people who produced it.
An important part of my teen years.. I would laugh so hard.. Those were some good times and years..
Thank you for posting 👍👍
