My Own Creation: DIY Sprinkle Globe

- I decided to create something kind of unique today. It's basically a diy snow globe, but since we are past the Christmas season, I decided to put a twist on it and make a DIY sprinkle globe, with a touch of magic. I hand sculpted the inside piece and created a custom base. I even tried resin for the first time! Hope you enjoy.

Hey! my name is Moriah (pronounced muh-rye-yuh) Elizabeth and this is my channel....obviously. I'm 29 and like doing creative activities (mostly painting on things), or really anything that gives me an excuse to use rainbows, sprinkles and my own cutesy characters in excess. I'm heavy into editing, so my video are chalk full of sound effects, filters and lil....moments, or as we like to call them "MEmes." I paint on squishies, thrift store finds, and various other items I find. I also love to draw, traditionally and digitally. I'm not the most skilled artist out here, but I like to focus on having fun with creativity and being able to laugh at my own mistakes.

My therapist made me a sprinkle/glitter snow globe to help me with my anxiety, and the point is to pick one specific sprinkle and try to follow it and its really cool! So watching this made me remember that from years ago and I love that

I love that Moriah shared her discomfort and insecurity with clay, and then we watched as she became more comfortable and skilled. I mean, that CHESS SET. I was actually avoiding this video for a bit because I don't particularly like snow globes...but I shouldn't have doubted Moriah's ability to turn what can be a normally outdated/dull/overused subject into something unique and fun.

Hey Moriah, something I learned while messing around with snowglobes is that to achieve a slow falling, soft floating effect with the sprinkles and snow, you can use baby oil, either mix it with water 1:1 ratio or leave it as it.
It's much denser than water, and so the sprinkle will be suspended for longer.

It's like a cake dreaming the idea of a slice of cake! I love that the colors inside the globe are lighter along with the magnifying effect of the water, makes it dreamlike.

Hey Moriah, first of all, I know you are incredibly busy, however, I am an avid snow globe collector, and owning one of yours would be an absolute dream come true! Again, I know your busy, but please consider this as I would be so grateful if you produced some copies and sold them for a limited time.

As a Christian it can be hard to find clean videos that you never have to fear what's in them, and with yours I know that I am always safe to watch them! Hahaha I teach the Kids Workshop at Home Depot and I got real tickled at your seething dislike of foam brushes. Trust me I feel you. I use those for the workshop. I wish I could attach a picture as I am using them right now mixing my own ME rainbow colors...and I think I got the Pickle color spot on...Thank you for always making my Friday! Oh and when mini me is old enough, your local Home Depot does a Kids Workshop for free every 1st Saturday of the month. You could take her and let her paint the project of the month.

hey moriah! you can use baby oil in the snowlobe instead of water and then you can use slightly heavier sprinkles/floaty things
Baby oil will yellow over time. Water and glycerin is how a true waterglobe is made. Baby oil is more "craft kit" for kids.
You bring back so much nostalgia, I used to watch you bake cakes and design squishies and you’re still the same but so different. Glad to see you’re still here 💕

Everyone that harassed you about not having a blob video should be ashamed of themselves. You work so hard to give us free entertainment every week! Thank you Moriah for blessing us every week with your beautiful artwork.
I know in crafting small decorative bottles (we even used the ones your nail art beads were in!) , we used to always use baby oil to create that sort of snow-globe effect as items would, well, sink to the bottom or float with water but since you're making a shaking charm of sorts, I highly suggest baby oil! You can even ask @Nerdecrafter since you two do talk I believe? I know that she's made a few shaker charms with the resin crafting kit Elf Boxes and such in the past so perhaps it's something to look into! A shaker charm would look pretty neat for your squishies or perhaps a mass product for sale in your merch store, too!

@nicodiangelo1942 she did it correct by adding the glycerin that is how a waterglobe is made. Baby oil will yellow over time. Also straight glycerin would make it bubbly when shook.
Admittedly I made these years and years ago before resin was all that readily available (UV that is) but that's pretty cool to know. I never had any yellowing problem with baby oil myself, though, how strange.@@tkgosselin

As a collector of snow globes I can confirm that they are in fact NOT a Christmas only thing. I have multiple and have seen one, for just about every single season, show, genre, etc that you can think of.
I feel you with the foam brushes being very annoying. A technique that works very similarly is dry brushing. It works best with a brush with thick bristles or a cheap scratchy brush so it will leave more texture. All you have to do is wipe off most of the paint from the brush onto a paper towel to leave just enough to add texture. I hope that helps!

My daughter and I LOVE how this turned out. The rubber bands were a stroke of genius. She thought by the title it was going to be a regular globe (thinking about geography) which would be an interesting project someday in the future. Keep up the good work!
I find it interesting that, even though you fully coated the inner cake with a glossy top coat & resin, once it was inside the water it appeared matte once again. Really fun idea. I love that you thought ahead to do sprinkle testing. Hopefully, the rubber band bits don't disintegrate with time.

Moriah Elizabeth is the best youtuber there is. change my mind. she posts constantly, is funny, clean, creative, and I just overall love her style. Moriah, you do so much for us! Even with two kids and your channel you are able to keep a balance between your family and youtube. The quality even when it’s at like 720 looks like HD quality, and the 1080 looks like HD HD quality! Moriah has been the youtuber that inspired me to do art. Her video quality is just *chefs kiss*. The comically large cake is just everything. I love it. Also snow globes aren't just a Christmas thing. I've seen them for other holidays, events, and things of that nature.

This is inspired by a project I’m working on now- you should buy an instax mini camera and paint it!
There are secondhand ones for relatively cheap, and you can buy non-functional ones for like $20 if you just want it for decor. You can also buy just the shells, so you can do multiple designs
