@tomc It's not the councils that should be ashamed of themselves....central Government has cut funding to local councils.....this ensures there is always going to be issues with housing...the Thatcher scheme with Right To Buy has never been honoured in the fact she said every house sold would be replaced to ensure housing...this was never honoured..
Disgrace that they don't open shelters when the temperature drops! How are they getting away with that! Too busy looking after the piss takers! Well done mate, for what you're doing to help people.
Very well done Kevin. 2024 and we still have an underclass - absolutely disgraceful! Solving the homelessness problem doesn’t win elections I’m afraid!
Where I work there's a member of staff that go to the supermarkets and collects food for the homeless and hands it out alongside a charity. Its a shame that we can't do more as a country, our government are very quick to help countries far away, put money into conflicts, help those from across the channel and put them in warm comfortable hotel rooms, housing, food etc but neglect their own. I was thinking of taking in a homeless person over winter periods but my family said no as I could bring problems to myself. If only I had enough money like these rich people I'd open up a homeless home. Well done hunny for what you do, take care. ❤️
I agree. There are people worth many millions of pounds in this country, how many ever open a centre for Britains homeless? None. They could literally afford to buy flats for every homeless person in their city but no. Nothing.
Your a good man, as a recovering addict that had untreated mental and physical health issues i spent time being homeless in New York and it was hard. The homeless are targets. So many self medicate. Once i treated my health problems (mental and physical) i was able to get off the street drugs. 02/02/2010 was my last use. I learned that by helping other addicts it helps me stay clean. Its only getting worse here and i assume across the pond as well. I just wanted to take a min and say thank you for having a heart.

New subriber here, well done for thinking of them. My daughter works in town and really took to a homeless guy, and gave him money etc. She was gutted he looked so unwell and gave him her coat. I don't know how true it is, but they need the help and our government don't give a shit. Keep up the good work mate.

You're a top bloke doing an amazing thing. Keep up the good work mate, the city's lucky theres people like you out their. They'll be a cold pint for yourself if I ever bump into at the game 👍
The problem is distingusing between the real homeless and the scammers. also, some of the homeless don't want to be helped. They prefer life on the streets. No idea why. They are all individuals and have their own issues that happened to them in life. I respect that. I donated to Salvation Army, which do good work, but most of the donations don't go the ones that need it. Hence I stopped doing that. I now donate to foodbanks. I agree that if people do come across homeless buy them some food and a drink, or some warm clothing, sleeping bag, tent, whatever. Never give money. They could go to shelters but some don't want to because of restrictions regarding drinking alcohol, and taking drugs. Or in her case because they have pets and not allowed to have them in accomodation. Maybe the reason some prefer to remain on the streets. I don't know what the answer is. There are tons of dissused buildings that could be used to even give them some shelter for the night.
Yeah food banks are a better investment, the Salvation Army like most “charities” are actually a business and their CEO is earning in the region of £136,000 per annum.

Hi Kev. I just read your reply to Michaela West where you said you never expected such a reply as you got from the lady on the street. To be honest, I'm surprised you've not heard that a lot more. I used to work with vulnerable people and it's not uncommon at all for females to be expected to offer sexual favours in return for 'help'. I know females with addictions who were also expected to offer sexual favours in return for drink or drugs if they couldn't pay for them. There are a lot of really shady characters preying on many of these vulnerable females unfortunately. Many of the things I was told would make your hair curl. I'd also echo what others have said in your replies recently. Be careful. Safeguarding cuts both ways. Whilst trying to look after vulnerable people, also make sure you look after yourself. Cover your own back as well as you can. Avoid potential accusations by keeping what you do out in the open. If you do ever escort a vulnerable female to a place of help and support, maybe take another trusted female with you too. It's a dark world you are venturing into, mate. Hiya Kevin, Your doing a great job, I hope the homeless are thankful for what you do, would you please go around to Jade to see if she's alright, she might of moved, this is Choppy in Whitehaven, Cumbria, England
The sad thing about it is that she has obviously come into contact with people who want to take advantage of her. It's a sick world out there....all the shit she has to put up with and her two big problems are a cat and people wanting to take advantage.
Mate your heart is 200% in the right place but you need to maybe do a few nights without the camera first and maybe with a woman with you.....so the local homeless know youre on.the level and kmow that theyre gonna be on youtube etc. These people..... particularly women....will have a very understandable suspicion of a benevolent bloke offering them things that seem too good to be true . When you say you're videoing it she's not gonna understand what you mean.....sounds even more suspicious. That said.....Keep at it mate....the world needs more ppl like you.
I went to give a homeless woman a sandwich and s drink from Subwat. She said she would rather have a ciggy, so I gave it to another one. Ungrateful so and so.
Can understand that people are having a go at the local councils and government with the homeless problems but the council’s and government would have to rise taxes to deal with the problems it’s a known win situation .
Well done fella, the issue with homelessness is a nationwide problem. Here in Cambridge which is filthy rich, we have our own problems with homelessness. This is the result of 14 years of Tory government cutbacks.
@@northwalesmod Tories have cut health and education spending by £37.3 billion since 2010. The austerity programme included reductions in welfare spending, the cancellation of school building programs, reductions in local government funding. During this period of austerity, the rate of homelessness rapidly increased.
Kev. IMHO, you may ultimately have far more impact in collaborating with other local charities to help the homeless, e.g. canvassing for regular monetary donations from local companies etc for proper shelter. You are not a one man island BUT your vlogs are defo raising awareness within Liverpool. Homelessness is a UK-wide issue, unfortunately! The majority of most homeless people need money to safeguard themselves in securing cheap overnight accommodation where they can shower, feel safe and get a proper night's sleep without being fearful of being robbed/attacked on the streets OR, within those hostels too - food generally isn't the overall real issue. At this time of the year given the sub-zero temps, truly heart breaking!
The homeless people in and around town its a fuckin disgrace now, it's shameful on us as a City. I'll be honest I thought you was just another youtuber looking for likes am that but seriously I've watched a few videos now and fair play man, keep up the work you're doing, this is shameful it needs highlighting more and more, Liverpool Council should be ashamed of themselves
To be fair mate, I’ve been putting off doing these videos in fear of looking like a martyr. I’m shocked with all the support I’ve received. I’m just highlighting the problem, nothing more nothing less. Thank you for the kind comment
@Kevcupo It's a problem that needs highlighting because firstly I didn't know there was no emergency shelter at all now, I know they're used to be an the fella from the Shankly hotel ran a centre but the council shut him down yet put nothing in replace, that's disgraceful. Anyway keep it up an we'll keep sharing video's hopefully Mary won't have to worry about having to offer her body again everytime someone 'Helps' her out, heartbreaking hearing that 😢 Take care mate you're an inspiration
aw bless , dont worry about showing this vid mate ,, you didnt do anything wrong ,, but of course be careful as a man alone helping woman especially drinkers ,,, but its good to show people what the reality on the streets is .... keep up ya good work xxx
Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) describes spaces opened as shelter for people sleeping rough when there is an increased risk of death due to the weather e.g. temperatures fall near or below freezing. Is SWEP the same as winter shelters? SWEP is a temporary response to a heightened risk.
There are organisations and charities in this city, with support staff and professionals. The trouble is, so much funding was cut in this sector over 13 years ago and it's been whittled down ever since. Remember, the clowns we have running the country think that this is a life style 🤦♀️. Providing hostel space is not as simple as just having a space, it's really complex. Before you have the people to run it, there are licences, building regs etc, just for the space. Remember also, many of these homeless people are very vulnerable, with complex needs, physical and mental health, and often with dual addictions. In the meantime, Kev is doing a cracking job of raising awareness, especially in the winter and particularly during this very cold spell.
Good what you trying to do 🙏🙏 But take care of YOURSELF, I've been where you are trying to help and caught myself trouble...90% of all I heard was lies and my kindness was well and truly taken for weakness...to the point I'd never help again. Far too many claiming homeless who aren't and spoil it for those that are genuine Good luck to you Kev
Just come across your channel I no your doing a good thing and you can't help everyone it's proper fucked up out there I was homeless for 3 weeks in the winter and its harsh belief me the problem is a lot of this people have got drink or drug problems and don't want any help. Anyway keep on doing what you are doing atb Michael
What if you take the empty hot water bottles to Gregg's or a shop near to where the homeless are based and ask them to fill them up with hot water for you? Tell them it's for the homeless people. If the shops refuse then they need to be named and shamed imo x
Just on the catfood/dogfood thing, cats can eat (wet) dogfood from time to time (as long as it's not too 'chunky', which a lot of it is), it won't do them any harm, and is a lot better than nothing.. however, it lacks some nutrients that are essential to cats, so giving it to them routinely, whether to economise or whatever, is a very bad idea. They can actually go blind. Conversely, you might think you're spoiling your cat if you only feed it steak, or tuna, or chicken or whatever, and you may be, but not in the way you think! Same as with the dogfood, they won't be getting all the nutrients they need. (Also, cooked chicken bones can be a choking hazard for cats.) Of course, thats not to say you can't give your cat these things as a supplement, or a treat. Or better yet, _ban_ your cat from having them. Now turn your back for two seconds. *>`Presto!‘
Some very good educational points there that I didn’t know, thank you. And very good point about the goujons, I had a cat years ago that took my steak out of the pan while a was cooking it

Hiya Kevin, Your doing a great job, I hope the homeless are thankful for what you do, would you please go around to Jade to see if she's alright, she might of moved, this is Choppy in Whitehaven, Cumbria, England
The government is full of crap
Yep
Jez God love the woman I do hope she gets sorted and she and her pet is safe
Me too
As ever Kev ty mate
Thank you Dave
Your a good man, well done mate!
Thank you
The sad thing about it is that she has obviously come into contact with people who want to take advantage of her. It's a sick world out there....all the shit she has to put up with and her two big problems are a cat and people wanting to take advantage.
Doing great 👍 👌
Thank you William
Keep up the good work.
Great work Kev going the extra mile caring for people who really need help
I will get in contact with you sometime to discuss more on the homeless
Nice one John, thanks mate
This is what us real scousers are about helpin our own
Thank you Jasmine, we try don’t we
You have to call the council emergemcy housing ,(housing options to get someone out straight away to house them in a hotel.x
That’s good to know
Mate your heart is 200% in the right place but you need to maybe do a few nights without the camera first and maybe with a woman with you.....so the local homeless know youre on.the level and kmow that theyre gonna be on youtube etc.
I do quite a lot without the camera mate, obviously that won’t be seen. Thank you mate
I Tilt My Hat Of To Yeah . Yarra Working class Hero Buddy . May The Force Be With Yeah
Thank you Richie, I’m just trying to help mate
I went to give a homeless woman a sandwich and s drink from Subwat. She said she would rather have a ciggy, so I gave it to another one. Ungrateful so and so.
Definitely not homeless that one then
Can understand that people are having a go at the local councils and government with the homeless problems but the council’s and government would have to rise taxes to deal with the problems it’s a known win situation .
It’s a tough one mate, but these people need help
I understand that they need help
Is right fella top man! Good on ya! Take it easy 👍
Cheers mate, thank you
😅 doing a great job mate keep it up God bless stay safe 🙏
Cheers mate, we do what we can
Understandable fear and apprehension, the downside of approaching strangers, who don't know you?
Well done fella, the issue with homelessness is a nationwide problem. Here in Cambridge which is filthy rich, we have our own problems with homelessness. This is the result of 14 years of Tory government cutbacks.
Oh yeah I get that, but this is fixable. If we don’t do something it will get out of hand
@@Kevcupo absolutely 💯
Cutbacks on what ???!!!
@@northwalesmod Tories have cut health and education spending by £37.3 billion since 2010. The austerity programme included reductions in welfare spending, the cancellation of school building programs, reductions in local government funding. During this period of austerity, the rate of homelessness rapidly increased.
Keep up the good work lad.
Will do Mike thank you
And I am more than happy to go along with someone and pay for them to stay a night in a hostel. I just won’t hand over hard cash
I respect 🙏 you
Thank you
The homeless people in and around town its a fuckin disgrace now, it's shameful on us as a City.
Anyway keep it up an we'll keep sharing video's hopefully Mary won't have to worry about having to offer her body again everytime someone 'Helps' her out, heartbreaking hearing that 😢
Take care mate you're an inspiration
Big up the kev fella 😊😊
Cheers mate
aw bless , dont worry about showing this vid mate ,, you didnt do anything wrong ,, but of course be careful as a man alone helping woman especially drinkers ,,, but its good to show people what the reality on the streets is .... keep up ya good work xxx
Thank you Louise, yeah it’s dodgy ground
Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) describes spaces opened as shelter for people sleeping rough when there is an increased risk of death due to the weather e.g. temperatures fall near or below freezing. Is SWEP the same as winter shelters? SWEP is a temporary response to a heightened risk.
Hi come we start a place we'd we can keep thm but it big money need 2 look after thm
Surely the council could build and run one
How do you order the Greggs food for homeless online ? And how much is it, do you get it discounted at all? X
Good man
Thanks you Jane
Good what you trying to do 🙏🙏
But take care of YOURSELF, I've been where you are trying to help and caught myself trouble...90% of all I heard was lies and my kindness was well and truly taken for weakness...to the point I'd never help again.
Far too many claiming homeless who aren't and spoil it for those that are genuine
Good luck to you Kev
Yes mate, I’m highlighting the homeless problem and I’ll also out the fakes
I would support this good cause. Homelessness is a growing problem.
I will definitely be donating.
Please give me the donating details again. Tar

Not a female RUclipsr, but I am a female willing to help as a sort of chaperone or something. If you're interested in the help let me know 👍
Was you able to get her in mate ?
Not as yet Katie, this place is really hard to contact. Plus the council have now moved her on and I have no idea where to
HI Kev Well done Kev.YNWA

Just come across your channel I no your doing a good thing and you can't help everyone it's proper fucked up out there I was homeless for 3 weeks in the winter and its harsh belief me the problem is a lot of this people have got drink or drug problems and don't want any help. Anyway keep on doing what you are doing atb Michael
Thank you Michael, yeah I do realise that some are beyond help, but I want to help those that really need and want it
I can’t find the homeless RUclipsr mate. Do you have a link?

Have you tried Women’s Aid in Liverpool. If she has been abused they will help her. They helped me, but I’m in Scotland. I hope you get her the help.
Kev how do i conract you ? I want to buy some too good to go bags and give you the code to collect if that's ok ?
That’s fine mate, are you not in Liverpool?
My email is merseykickers@hotmail.com
@@Kevcupo you don't need to be in Liverpool to buy bags, I'm in Cornwall I'll email you later fella
You do a great job how can I meet you to give you some money so you can help them with foodi can't walk fare but will help you
Yes John we can arrange that
Buy some hot water bottles and fill them with hot water when it's super cold👍
Good idea Martin
@@KevcupoA lot of weight to carry around / be responsible for, up to 2kg per hot water bottle .... If not more
What if you take the empty hot water bottles to Gregg's or a shop near to where the homeless are based and ask them to fill them up with hot water for you? Tell them it's for the homeless people. If the shops refuse then they need to be named and shamed imo x
He could do with a trolley to carry stuff👍@@CornishLiving8
You could always travel around with a generator, that way you can boil a kettle...
Where is Brian in liverpool the whitechaple
And very good point about the goujons, I had a cat years ago that took my steak out of the pan while a was cooking it
@@Kevcupo They'll test you, the little f%&kers! But I suppose it's that stuff that makes them such characters...
poor women no british person should be out on the streets when our goverment is housing thousands of illegal migrants at tax payers money . i hope she gets sorted
its good that you do not show the the woman as even homeless she deserves some privacy
Annother good job u did u should be pround of yourself
No shelter for our own yet all these crossing the channel get a hotel and 3 meals a day. I'm beyond angry.
