DGD is my favorite, period...So sorry for their loss. RIP Tim. This video is really fitting for a tribute to him. He jamming out and notice in the video at about 4:00-4:15 the words written were: fire, thread, blood, life, pulse. And each word went to each member: Fire-Jon/Thread-Tillian/Life-Tim 🤍/Blood-Matt/Will-Pulse. I feel like the words represent their place in the band and how integral each of them are to make DGD, DGD. Tim will be missed. Thank you for reacting to this gem for Tim
Fire/Jon - bringing the attack Thread/Tilian - bringing the emotion Life/Will - bringing the groove and the move Blood/Matt - pumping the heart Tim/Pulse - keeping the beat harmonized, no matter the pace. I feel like if you watch videos of their Swanfest performance this magnifies. Preemptively wanna say Andrew will grow into his own place in the bands ecosystem as well, no need for any of us to try to shoehorn him into a role this early.
This is the song that sold DGD as my favourite band. I only heard of them after midnight crusade, and I liked that, but when this song dropped.. changed my life. Listened to them every day for 4 years now.
This was a beautiful way to pay tribute and definitely the perfect song for it. Thank you so much for doing this. I'm still having a hard time even comprehending that Tim is gone. RIP to a legend.
Thank you so much for doing this specific reaction. You can hear Tim’s work very well in this track. Gosh damn still gutted by his loss. The guy was my exact age… so freakin young :( Glad you really liked this track.
this is my first time listening to DGD...is Count Bassy the name Tim was aka ?, because there was a jazz pianist Count Basie who fronted an orchestra, at first I thought the name was maybe a play on that...Tim's bass near the end of this song was great though, unfortunate to hear of his passing at such a young age
The title is a play on Count Basie, that's for sure, but we fans just knew Tim as Tim. A truly gentle guy, super kind and massively talented. I highly recommend taking some time to listen to his other work on bass - Head Hunter and Slouch are more upbeat songs, but for more like Count Bassy, Care and Calentamiento Global are also great examples of his work
Just to add something about the "band being able to move on" Tim passed away while they were on tour. Hell they're still on tour now! Its what tim wouldve wanted
Wow, hey man, how ya doin? Long time man! I hope you're doing well. Like I was replying to Jordan, it's weird that three people from my personal life found me from this one reaction video.
Oh shoot hey man! I hope you're doing well! I remember those days too, but the older I get the more they fade! It's weird, three people from my personal life found me because of this one reaction video lol. Although I'm sure either you or Daren found this and then told the other one haha.
