Update...
After starting the season 12-24, the Astros are 81-68 with 13 games to go.
If they finish 9-4, they will end the season at 90-72.
The Astros are 5.5 games behind the Yankers for best record in the AL and 9 games behind the Phillies for the best record in MLB. The Astros are also 4.5 games ahead of Seattle in the AL West and 4.5 games behind Cleveland for the number two seed in the AL.

It looks Pena's bat is starting to get hot at the right time. And say hey, J-Hey! Racking up some RBIs. We need him in the postseason lineup for sure.

For a second it was looking like Ferguson was setting up Hader for a loss. Isn't this the 2nd game in a row that Ferguson struggled? Well this just shows it's tough to sweep any team in MLB. Wish the Rangers could have beat the Mariners at least 2 games in their series.
Ferguson has struggled in every game except for a couple of good outings. He needs to be sent down or if he's out of options left off the playoff roster.
I DO love that sweep.
And guess what? If we go 6-7 the rest of the way, the Mariners would still have to go 10-2 to beat us.....go 8-5? They have to go 12-0. Tough finish to the year with SD, Seattle, and Cleveland, but I think 6-7 is absolutely possible, where Seattle finishing 10-2 is borderline impossible.
@@imnotcreativeenoughh So what do you think? If both Meyers and Doobie are in the lineup do you think they should swap in batting rotation? Doobie hasn't been tearing it up a lot lately but he's more likely to drive in runs than Myers. Even if Doobie isn't playing Myers needs to bat 9th IMO. Myers does have more RBIs but Doobie's BA is better. It just seems he gets a big hit more often than Jake the Rake.

Doobie .268 45 RBIs

I watched it 3 times trying to figure out if there was something I missed.... there wasn't. He went around, and not by trying to get out of the way or something. Unfortunately, as far as I know, check swings aren't reviewable, so if the HP ump called it a no swing, that's all that matters.
Yeah that was a bullshit call. Idk wtf they were thinking, he was obviously swinging at that pitch.
After he swung the bat and had his hand hit by the pitch the barrel of the bat made contact with the ball.

Blanco sure looked way better today than his previous 4 or so starts. Hopefully the rest he got holds up the rest of the way.

Yup it looks like the rest did him a lot of good. Made the Angels look easy after JV struggled.

Love the sweep. It was good seeing JV pick up a W. However, seemed like every hitter was making solid contact and a lot of outs were maximum effort outs and were credited to remarkable defensive plays rather than good pitching. Pretty concerning if he’s going to be a starter in the PS. I think may be more suited out the pen

Ok, in the 9th inning the A's batter gets hit on the wrist by the pitch, but he wouldn't have got hit if he didn't swing. I don't see how that's the pitchers fault
Dan Iassogna or Angel Hernandez. Not much difference in Umpire abilities. Both terrible.
For real. Maybe it's just me but the zone sure was big when Stros were batting but miraculously shrunk when Angel were up.
