*Frank:* a alcoholic mischievous father that doesn't care about his kids but rather cares about drugs and liquor. *Francis:* A loving father that would die for his kids and puts them infront of everything else. God I'm going to miss Francis.
I love how the youngest are shoved in the back and lip puts his arm out in front of Liam while fiona and Ian stand in front of Carl and Debbs. so cute.
Its called family and its the best thing ever and no matter how many bad things this family wemt through they are always there for each other and I love it
I think Frank loves his kids deep, deep, deep inside his heart...somewhere. But he can't sort out his priorities. And he is a drug addicted, selfish asshole. But I love his character as much as I hate him. Huge respect to the actor for playing such an complicated character, so amazing.
if you watched all of shameless youd know that frank was actually a really good kid who was in COLLEGE but then he met monica who got him addicted to drugs and alcohol sk basically if frank never met monica and still had kids he would deadass be a pretty good father
It's because Frank decided to reimage himself as Francis in this and previous episodes. He got a job, got Liam into private school, and became a doting father to Liam. Fiona refused to call him Francis until this moment, but it didn't last very long
When Fiona thanked Francis (Frank), and Frank smiled shyly and he put his hand on her shoulder a little bit (it warmed my heart and I almost cried). There's some pride in Frank's eyes. That, yes, my daughter has acknowledged me. God. All these seasons, it was the first I saw them have some physical contact. This show is perfect.
None of y'all mention how spectacular William H Macy is in creating a character who is really smart but too selfish to raise a family. Reminds me of the scene where he shit on the richies at the private school so bad that his reward was having his son go there. "Youre a good daddy".
8 yr old Liam went to a cemetery with his family to help dig up his dead Mother's grave to reclaim the thousands of dollars in stolen meth that was buried with her body. ...so, yea, memories
@@madisonfaulkner7988 yea i remember that plot twist but i was still weirded out like how could that happen hes extremely dark lol no racism but the contrast & comparison to liam & the gallaghers

Not really though.. like yeah he is a pretty asshole dad. But most of time when his children actually ask he does try to help. Like when Debbie wanted to leave the weird hippy camp or when she wanted Franks help. And he went to jail for Carl. But then again he also got Liam kidnapped so...
You know what. Francis and Frank are two different people. Frank is loud, irresponsible, and impossible to deal with. But Francis. He cares immensely. He is that part of himself from way back when the world was in color, and when family was everything
Who else hates how frank was finally becoming a productive human being and had a job, was being nicer to the kids, and was just being a good person but still they had to get him fired from his job and then everything went downhill and he went back to his old shity self it’s like COME ON CUT THE CRAP let him be a productive person FOR ONCE PRODUCERS 😐
@@juliane2595 I feel like even tho the show is called shameless they should’ve let the characters elevate they should’ve weirdly mixed Francis with Frank like still his funny party happy self but with the responsibility of Francis if that makes sense
He was a productive person for “once.” He actually got better and was doing good. Which is the case for alot of addicts. But unfortunately most people who struggle with substance abuse like frank can easily fall off and spiral downhill. Just when you think things are looking up one tiny thing can set you back into old habits. I feel like it makes the show more relatable especially to recovering addicts because addiction is a real disease.
I love how they were all trying to protect each other, especially how Liam was holding onto Debbie. She’s his big sister and she loves him no matter what. And I also love how Carl was trying to protect him as well. 🥰❤️
actually there are like 20 different episodes where hes either tryignt o be a great father just to be or when others ruin it for him to name 3 the apology episode where he was so sick he ended up in the hospital and he apologizes to a little girl who he thought was fiona.. and blames himself for everything he put her through bc he should have been a better father another episode where he decides to be sober for a month for money and ended up hanging out with Carl and Debbie and Liam and did all the fun shit with them... but... big but... the eldest kids thought it was a ploy til they realized it wasnt and he was there for like 3 weeks happy and treating the kids good... so they made him drink and he lost all the money and became a drunk again where he took the charge for Carl
I love how the three oldest protect the young ones. Just only one of the saddest moments in shameless. It's moments like these that make you feel so sad about how relatable the show shameless is. It's honestly a good show, I love all the actors especially Fiona. Sad she left in season 9!!
this is the best acting from william h. macy i've ever seen. the chilling calm in his voice, the crazy look in his eye, it's absolutely insane. it's so rare and refreshing to see frank so quick to defend his family. the francis arc is so amazing, and it's absolutely heartbreaking that it all comes to an end with the store closing down. i wish we could've seen more of this frank.
I just want to say, I love how Fiona walks slowly out, still looking the guy in the eyes, Fiona is a fictional character but ANYONE would prosper with such a persona of bravery and fierceness

not only are the oldest three protecting the youngest three, but the very oldest protects all of them, her body in front of the three in the back and arms in front of the two in the front -- she really is a mom
