    Great video, John! One of your biggest fans here!!! That new spro one looks fire! One of my favorites, is the ARK TB115, I've absolutely tore em up on it.
    Have you tried the zman hellrazor?

    When the water hits 50 degrees, I start rigging rods with topwaters. I don't tournament fish anymore, so I fish for fun and enjoyment, and topwater is fun.😊
    A Tatula question for you: do you place the line over or under the bar before the line thru?

    • @JohnCrews
      @JohnCrews  Год назад

      The line goes through the T. I think that’s what you’re asking

      @JohnCrews on my 100s and 150s after your line comes in the t-wing and approaches the spool, there's a bar. I don't know if go over or under. I have done it both ways but never knew what was recommended.

    Do you keep them in that box always or just when headed to lake

    John... Why do you think it is you never hear anybody speak of the old-school tried-and-trues like jitterbug's and hula poppers? Is there just too much stuff out there and they've been forgotten about kind of like fishing a simple Texas rig rubber worm? Love your info sessions buddy✌️👍

    Great video! Thanks. What rod do you like to throw the 110 plopper on?

      As you didnt get a reply I'll volunteer my 2 cents. A plopper is a retrieve baut so rod action won't make much difference. Whatever rod you normally use for baits that weight will work just fine. Rod power should align to the size and wire thickness of the hooks on the bait. Any rod you have that's stiff enough to easily set the hooks but supple enough not to rip em out again will be perfect. Bass pros who stress importance of exact rods are the same ones who are sponsored by rod companies.

    Even in clear water you like braid for your walking baits? Also, what is the best knot to tie with braid straight to the bait?

    • @emoutdoors5661
      @emoutdoors5661 Год назад +2

      A lot of people like the Palomar for braid and it’s good, but I’ve been having good success with running the line through the eye, come around and go through a second time, then tie a uni knot. Another tip I ran across, put a couple of bobber stops on your braid just ahead of the knot to help keep the line straight and prevent tangling in the hooks as much. I’ll be trying that trick tomorrow morning.

      @JohnCrews  Год назад +1

      Yes, even in clear water. The Palomar knot is the one most of the time

    I hate braid on a bait caster because it wants to stick in the spool what’s the trick to stop doing that?😢

    • @JohnCrews

      You using the wrong braid

    • @LurchLures
      @LurchLures 9 месяцев назад

      Dont use thin braid. All the baits he recommended will cast just fine on a baitcaster with 30lb braid. Even 50 won't be to bad. Lots of people use power pro. It's the only one I have tried and it works fine.
