Fucking hell... The Beatles, Dylan & The Band all on the same island... I’m not sure there has ever been a more epic moment in the history of music...
A calm, attentive, appreciative adult audience - how those 3 must have longed for that instead of fans screaming at them. Great photos as they're sitting on separate rows instead of one long one. Neil and Mal also noted here. Thanks for sharing x
If I'd been there, after I got over the shock of seeing the Beatles and their wives and all the other stars sitting in front of me, I would get mad that I couldn't see the stage around Maureen and Pattie's big floppy hats.
These are some great pics. The Beatles had just finished recording Abbey Road at this point, and had their final photo sessions a mere 9 days earlier. The Band was backing Dylan, and the 3 Beatles had arrived the day before and were jamming with Dylan and The Band, which fueled rumors of them performing together at this concert. I like to think Paul would have been there too but alas Linda was giving birth to their 1st child together. A mere 2 weeks later John performed solo with Plastic Ono Band in Toronto and finalized his decision to leave the band. But it's interesting that even at this very late stage, they still hung out together.
Thanks for the interesting addition
pup41261 : They were still friends with each other (though it got really tense with Paul pretty soon) they just couldn't be Beatles together anymore.
Actually, according to a newly unearthed tape, it would seem that John was not planning to leave the Beatles, and was discussing a new album with the group in early 1970.
Is it true that the beatles where kinda dissapointed with dylan's show?
do you know where i can listen to that tape or where it’s from?
Great pictures of the Beatles and their wives, and awesome photos of Bob Dylan...thank you, Elena!
These photos she puts up are endlessly fascinating.
What a nice document of their amazing history! Thank you Elena for the nice song too!!! Cheers, Eddy.
Really beautiful! thank you Elena!
Thanks Elena for all of the videos and pictures of the Beatles. I was a young teenager when they came out and loved them back then and still do to me they are one of the greatest groups that were out there although there are so many others but the Beatles are number one in my eyes thanks again for sharing love to watch and look forward to what is posted.
They're not ONE OF the greatest groups of all time. They're THE GREATEST group of all time. Forty eight years after they broke up and their songs are still played in elevators, in shopping malls, and at parties e.t.c. And we still hum their songs in the shower. How many other bands can we say that of ? It just goes to show the quality and longevity of their timeless music.
A lovely glimpse into the Beatles family, Elena. I love all your posts.
How so very rare photos so well presented Elena!
How so magnificent clip!
Thank you so very much my dear friend for sharing your so extra ordinary upload with us!
Cool stuff...I remember 1969 very well....good times man
I was there, but there was about 20,000 people between us and the stage, so we didn't catch sight of the Beatles!, great pictures again Elena, thanks for posting them.
Me too 💗
Wow. cool pix, great, more please.
I love your channel, it's great and the pictures are great! I would be very happy if you make a video about the Beatles and fans' letters
Your vids always satisfy , thanks.
Thank you always Elena for these wonderful photos on your channel.
I think that's you with Ringo in the last photo.
Great pics, just found your channel and subscribed!! I've always been a Beatles fan!! Thank you 👍
So glad you like it. Thank you for watching and subscribing to my channel .
Beatles looked great in this period by far their best image in. My opinion
THANK YOU
Thanks enjoying.
That's cool and so is the time I caught him here in Springfield Missouri
Wow, I'm always fascinated by your photos Elena..Can you imagine someone like Paul McCartney or Mick Jagger going to a concert nowadays and just sitting normally amongst the crowd? Different days indeed.. 😊 Is that Donovan beside George ? I think that's Ritchie Havens near the end as well? Wonderful job as always Elena!😊
You're right, now it's hard to imagine.
George, John and Ringo are actually and literally surrounded by friends and employees here, so are not truly sitting in the audience as such. Fabs assistant Terry Doran is sitting next to George; I think that is (Apple employee) Chris O'Dell ('Miss O'Dell') with the round glasses, next to Pattie; Neil Aspinall is there, and of course Mal Evans. The fellow behind John, wearing the cap, is, I think, folk musician Tom Paxton.
I thought that one of the people there might have been Tony Bramwell, but I could be wrong about that.
If I and my lady were sitting this close to the fabs, it sure would have been hard to pay attention to Dylan. Yet, many seem to be doing just that… maybe trying to be nonchalant about it all. But wow, such great photos. George probably got inspired by Dylan to wear a white suit for the Bangladesh gig from Zimmerman.. he adored him.
Cool pics! For once I can watch the Beatles watching someone else on the stage rather than the other way around!
so great !wowwww!
Paul and Linda were having their first child just days before. Her name Mary Anna McCartney. Born 28 Aug 1969.
Who cares?
Viviandarkbloom,
The Beatles had millions of fans world wide. Maybe you were born post Beatles, so as an individual you do not care. Or why else would you ask:'who cares'. Maybe you are from far off foreign shores and as such a childs birth thousands of miles from your country is not something of great interest to you. But in England, the UK and a few other countries a child's birth is information many people care about. A birth to a major contributor to society in terms of art as well as charity becomes for MBE members a newspaper publicised event which would appear in the social news sections of media publications. So millions cared. But respects to those millions who reside thousands of miles away or who were born later or who just couldn't care for any one, anyway.

Thanks for this, Elena.
There are a lot of Beatle People in those photos - Terry Doran is sitting next to George; I think that is Chris O'Dell (with the round glasses), next to Pattie; Neil Aspinall is there, and of course Mal Evans. The fellow behind John, wearing the cap, is, I think, folk musician Tom Paxton.
Does anyone recognize anyone else?
I thought that one of the people there might have been Tony Bramwell, but I could be wrong about that.
Richie Havens was the second to last photo, the last photo, I don't know who the woman is at the piano...
Nice job Elena! Strange to see them in the audience rather than performing. Mo looks great with lighter colored hair.
Wondering if they ever envied shows like this, with more mature crowds, better sound systems, etc. Would have been a whole new performing experience, maybe.
Because beatles were already famous, maybe Coz too expensive or too old
. Don't know.
Interesting to see Tom Paxton sitting next to Lennon and sharing a laugh!
Oh thanks, I thought it was David Crosby.👍🏻
Mo and Pattie looking fabulous ❤️
How nice to see these photos. I heard a lot about this show that Dylan actually missed Woodstock to be here and although he was promoted as the main entertainment he only played for a very short time at the end. I think there were also some problems with the technical equipment so there was a long delay and the weather wasn't that good. No wonder Ringo looks bored.
I think i've read that the beatles where dissapointed with the show...specially Lennon. Not sure...
Awesome pictures, however, John, George, Ringo and all around them had to have had it with all of the camera action in their faces.
According to how the fab four (and Paul?) looked in those pictures, I guess it was during Abbey Road album sessions
I think I saw Tom Paxton there as well as Richie Havens!
Looks like Tom Paxton sitting next to John Lennon, that's a surprise!!
Great Pics!!! I so say though, the man sitting to Lennon's right looks a lot like Harry Nilsson doesn't it?? :) or as mentioned below, Tom Paxton....can't quite tell lol
He looks nothing like Nilsson
Kind of looks like Vivian Stanshall of Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band. Not sure though
Woodstock August 15th to 17th plus 18th 1969.
A partir del 4:02 les dió frío a los Starkey y se taparon juntitos.
John y George también se abrigaron; parecían de la historieta de Los Agachados cómo el clásico Calzontzin🤭
Enjoyed it. Who does the song in your video please?
This music is provided by RUclips
They are in awe of real talent.
Dylan was a drug supplier and former criminal underworld supplier to some of the former Beatles since 1965. So the three Beatles may have been there to make a drug score from Drongo Druggy Dylan. So not in awe of Drongo Dylan. Just needing their illegal smack (Heroin).
@@MikeGreenwood51 Get back on our meds Gramps. Dylan was no "underworld" figure. I've heard you Beatles fans are daft but this is just ridiculous.
@@viviandarkbloom100
Course he was an underworld shyster. Where do you think he was getting his illegal meds from? The FDA? Next you'll be trying to say mad Dr.Leary wasn't a fugitive on the run. The junkies weren't able to buy legal in the States or in the UK. So any dealing was black market. All the criminals Dylan bought from were underworld. At least I know I am not your Grand Father or who the 'gramps' are. So maybe it's you who needs to up-grade to a higher level than Grade 10 before you reach the age where they put people in the institution for retarded development. Another thing before I go. Maybe you shouldn't mistake the Feds for Beatles Fans.
Either way He improved their music. Just be thankful they met Dylan.
Why would junkies such as Hendrix, Dylan, Jagger, the Rolling Stones all hang out in a tiny little Welsh village in the 70s? Maybe because one of the countries largest international underworld LSD factories operated there until it was shut down. Why did they stop going to the same tiny Welsh village after it was shut down?
Wasn't it also Dylan who announced he was a covert male prostitute working the lavatories in the early sixties. So the tabloids reported. If he was self pimping or using a pimp, it was still underworld. Underworld isn't just gangsters and the mob you know. If your buying from the mob or using mob services such as their pimps. Then the user is also underworld.
Wow, Tom Paxton sitting next to John...Richie Havens at 4:20?
Who's the dude sitting next to George Harrison? He looks familiar. COOL Historic photo's thanks very much!
Either Donavon or Bolon
Is that Tom Paxton there in the crowd behind George Harrison ?
Is that Tom Paxton, behind Ringo?
Elston Gunn=the Ultimate Stage Hog for all times
I understand they also went ( as a group) to see "The Young Rascals " and "The Lovin' Spoonful " perform!! I wonder if there is any photographic evidence of that??🤔
The Rascals - my nextist favorite group!
That looked like Sara Dylan chatting with one of the women.
And Suze rotolo?
Was that Tom Paxton sitting next to John?
Yeah Paul was not there. Weird that John, George and Ringo did not sit together?
I saw everyone but Paul?
The epicenter of hip
Is there SUZE ROTOLO??
It seems that Paul was not attending this festival, right?
So what was Dylan playing while they watched ?!
"the boxer"
"But the fighter still remains..."
Simon & Garfunkel, The Boxer..❤❤ was that line supposed to be about Dylan or something? Just wondering why quoted here.
@@lisadc4681 Dylan sang The Boxer at his Isle of Wight concert.
@@GD-rd6ig Oh cool! I figured there must be a reason you referenced it! 😎
@@GD-rd6ig is it on you tube?
@@pabloperez4063 Not sure about youtube, but it is on Dylan's Self-Portrail album.
Paul had his priorities in order!
If I'm not mistaken, during this period in particular, Paul was on very shaky terms with the rest of the Beatles. In fact, this was right around the time John started telling others he was leaving the Beatles. So it's kind of telling that Paul isn't around
Yeah, once Yoko actively inserted herself into rehearsals George was the first one to threaten to quit, and then John was threatening to quit to make Yoko his partner. Paul was the only one trying to keep them together so perhaps they resented being kept together. In any case, he'd just had his FIRST CHILD!! It wouldn't have been like Paul to ask Linda to get dolled up and leave the newborn, or to just leave them himself to traipse off to some huge 150,000 public concert. (Also "the rest of the Beatles" are not even sitting together so ...)
@@charwest9449 it's actually pretty crazy how they're just sitting there, mixed in with all the other crazy hippy riff raff. Music's greatest modern influences all in the same room. And who'd ever expect Ringo to have the hottest wife that day... although Patti Harrison is obviously gorgeous too.
Who wouldve expected John to be sitting there with someone like Yoko though? Let alone so completely enamored with her that he totally changes his entire image as an artist, as well as his artistic output. I'm sure Paul was pretty confused.
LOL, I just realized, even Paul's dreams about The Isle of Wight were more family oriented: "Every summer we can rent a cottage on the Isle of Wight if it's not too dear. We shall scrimp and save. Grandchildren on my knee -- Vera, Chuck, and Dave."
Kevin, I know right! I was struck by that too, how they're just sitting there rows back, not together, with people that we might not recognize but maybe they were famous in England (who knows?) and they're not getting mobbed!
Neil Aspinall sitting beside Yoko..is that Tony Bramwell sitting beside George?
Poor guy.
Was Tom Paxton in the audience? on the left at 2:29?
next to John at 3:22?
Yeah, but could you smoke at this venue? Was Ringo there?
What, no booing of Dylan here. maybe they gotten over him going electric by this time
I think people were just glad to see him back again.
Has anyone identified any of the other folk in these images?
Jerry Rubin, Tom Paxton etc. Mal Evans the roadie..All people to whom it was no big deal to be around the Bestles.
Tom Paxton sitting next to John Lennon
@@pedrogroves77777 Poor Paxton clearly drew the short straw.
At this tiime the Beatles was already finished as a group
1:27 What did john Do to the woman with glasses...
1969, sept. 1st, after abbey rd. was finished, lennon, Harrison, Starr, no paul .
No McCartney or Linda that’s telling. Didn’t Paul initially hate Dylan’s music but later changed his mind?
Is that true? That would be fascinating if so. I know John and George were huge fans. But i could see Paul, being such a fan of melody, not liking it as much at the time.
Shane McKenna ~ I highly doubt that's true. I never heard or read about McCartney expressing any such thing. The main reason he wasn't in attendance was because his wife gave birth a mere two or three days prior to the festival, and he was with the family.
No Paul?
Where's Paul....Oh I forgot he was "Dead" back then.
Where’s Mal?
No Paul I notice
No fue Paul 😭
Pattie Boyd was a hottie. 2:16
Where was Paul?
He was looking for a home in the heart of the country.
better sound track please
2:42 I see Jesus among the crowd and he is holding Mary Magdalene's hand...😎
Where is Paul ?
Read the description
Paul McCartney was not present, as his wife Linda had given birth to their daughter Mary on 28 August.
Who is this band?
Who were? Three of them were members of the Dung Beatles. A special class of fugitives trying to evade capture, sentencing and prosercutions. The beards are not new disguises. But they do result in some thinking they hardly look recognizable compared with their pre dung days pre they met their dung supplied Mr. B.Dylan in 1965.
Pupils learning from The Master.
That’s funny
@4:11..Mal Evans & George. Mal was a 6th Beatle 🐞 ok great Beatles fans check it out Rank n File: John #1 Paul# 2 George# 3 Pete Best# 4 Ringo# 5 Mal #6 Brian Epstian #7...Mal was security at the Cavern way before Epstian came into this great Story.
And became roadie for them also you can see Mal Evans everywhere with the Beatles in "Help, "Magical Mystery Tour" all the way up to "Let It Be" film, he is the first seen in the opening scene, setting up Ringos Drums. He was an important part of the Beatles very tight nitt inner circle from the early days...☺ the Beatles union with Mal was meant to be.... Its really "being at the right place at the right time!
Thank you for the interesting information about Mal Evans.
In what year did George get his teeth fixed, and why didn't he pay for Pattie's fix ?
Is that Mal on Johns right?
I did not see Mel in this video.
@@elenathebeatlesphotos8500 He's definitely there in several photos.
Fascinating pictures of the Beatles paying homage to Dylan, just prior to their split(or johns announcement). Out of the 3 of them, John looks most despondent here, i'm sure he was already an ex-beatle in his head or was this his 'heroin period'? Just a couple of weeks later he played the Toronto rock and rock revival festival, then left the beatles on his return, as if to prove to himself that he no longer needed the security of the group. I got a feeling (deep in side), that Paul was not a happy chap at this time, and was ostracized from his old mates. Interesting and sad times of change.
Andy - He's miserable because, tosser that he was in 1969, he's not the centre of attention.
Andy Dixon ~ Indeed Lennon announced that he was departing the Fabs in September '69, but not publicly. He said it in private, only to the other three, and Alan Klein, at the Apple office headquarters. Hence it was unofficial at the request of Klein, until numerous business matters could be sorted out... to which Lennon concurred. He and the lads went on from there to do their own thing, while seven months rolled by with no press release about a breakup until... and you know the rest of the story...
@@ysgol3 ~ Nah it wasn't about that. You're speculating.
@@slimshine953 Given that I've never been inside his head, and therefore wasn't inside it at this concert, you're profoundly correct.
However, he was a tosser and an egomaniac, as so many of his actions show, so I respectfully submit that my comment was valid.
@@ysgol3 ~ Aw c'mon now, you know you would've loved to be in his position. Don't armchair criticize the man who took part in changing practically all aspects of culture and society like a tidal wave, that have never been the same again. I don't know what a "tosser" is, a British slang I assume, but we're all egotistical... you are, I am, even with my relatively humble life. To achieve what Lennon did, and reach the heights he attained, the ego is bound to inflate. It's inevitable, it's human nature, but that didn't speak of the person he truly was underneath. Just like all of us. Most of the time we only saw the facade, or what he wanted people to see, and so do you and I. As I see it, he kept it rather well under control, all things considered. Music and show business at that level is huge, expectant, and stressful man, there was a lot of pressure on The Beatles from all sides. As Harrison once said "they gave us their screams and their money, and we gave up our nervous systems". Try to rethink your dismissive, and diminutive evaluation about a guy you never knew.
Bob is god..the muse to all.
No! God is not a drongo druggy. Maybe you have a drongo druggy god as your choosen idol or god. But whilst the devil god satan may also recive the title of god for some. That does not mean satan is 'The God'. Or the Good God. Or the righteous God. Bob Dylan as the criminal drug supplier and ruinator of thosands of deceased heorin addicts may rightfully be described by some as a devil or the devil. But the identity of which God you refer to is necessary as your devil god is not to be confused with the true God.
Don't fight or get angry
Cool. 3 beatles on their best. Just the straight person Paul macterney wasn't there
Was this around 1971?
Look at the description... August 31, 1969
In 1971, Bangladesh
@1:18...I see George, John, and Ringo in the same frame...but no Paul...
Please read the description of the video. Everything is indicated there.
The music is nice, what is it?
Alejandro Corona, how about a very loose variation/play on NY's Down By The River, at least thematically?
It's druggie drongo music.
No Paul and wife? What year was this?

Sorry, I had not read the description. But what about the Trinidad holiday. Paul is missing as well. In fact, he has been missing pretty much, including the award, where George had to apologise on his behalf without giving a reason. Any idea why?
MicheleGer I don't know the details of any holiday but the beatles have effectively broken up by this point. Alot of fighting is going down and Paul is likely avoiding them. But also people are home more around the time of thier first baby.
I don't see Paul, and this is before separation (1969) ,this not the beatles
! (not completly)
ZUBI1492 read description of the video. Paul's wife Linda were giving birth to their daughter Mary at the time so they were not present.
thank you ,I guess something important ,yes ! lovely Mary !
Sans Paul, who took a pass.
Clapton is next to george
Devin Piacente uh no he isn't. not Clapton unless you mean the future Mrs. Clapton
Clapton was rehearsing w delanie and Bonnie at that time
And Yoko out of her bag...too bad. Otherwise great pics.
But Paul wasn't there? strange

O thanx, I was just wondering the same about Paul!
Magical Times! Superstars between fans ... & such great music 💥💘
Too funny, The Beatles trying to blend in with the general public.
They're sitting on chairs! Woodstock wasn't quite as civilized.
Evets Nitram : Remember that this was the V.I.P. section near the front.

Makes me sad that Paul wasn’t there. The other 3 really turned on Paul. John led them away, and John was led by Yoko. One thing struck me with these images that I knew but never thought hard about: Yoko didn’t wear makeup. Or at least none compared to what the other women did. A woman without makeup is "less pretty" in a certain way (because makeup emphasizes and enhances features so anyone wearing it right will look better) which is partly why she took so much abuse. She made no effort to fit in and every effort to be different. This is something I do respect about Yoko and I’m quite sure John did too.
SORRY, 220000 FANS TO LOOK DYLAN....
Elena, were you a groupie? I was, but not for the Beatles.
MicheleGer :
So to whom then?
Please, let me guess...to Slowhand? Jimi? Peter Green? ...or Jim Morrison?
Write a book, Michele
And where's Paul? Oh, I remember, he never liked Dylan much...
Paul McCartney was not present, as his wife Linda had given birth to their daughter Mary on 28 August.

OK, you0re right. Any way hje never was as enthusiastic for Dylan as John and George were.
very strange the faul paul is not there!!!!!
