Love this video! Looks like you got a good horse and a good hand in the making. You must feel blessed. Years ago my Mom told me to name my filly Cookie, because l loved cookies so much . She turned out to be a great cow horse.
Nice horse! She looks like a Quinn to me :) Hopefully she'll grow into its meaning. Didn't know this before it popped into my head looking at her, but apparently it means "wise", "sense", or "reason". Great video!
A good name for a grey filly might be Misty. She’ll get paler as she matures. You and Dan did good work. I absolutely agree - it’s wonderful to have someone to get the gates for you. 😊
Enjoyed watching you and your little cowboy cut and work the bulls 👍 Your new filly is a looker ! She sure didn't want to go down into that scary looking trap 😉 It will be fun to watch her more in future.. Nice video!! Not good with naming....but I'll toss Harriet into the mix. Fits Wyoming 😉👍
As for barn names for horses, I usually name them based on personality. Your filly being short is a quarter horse advantage. Shorter horses can turn quicker to assist in cutting cows. Short distance speed is all there. I agree that filly hasn't had a lot of outside riding. Like you, I believe that you will instill the confidence in her with time. Wonderful seeing you and Dan working together building memories together. This is real quality time spent together learning. Keep up the good work.
Glad to see that went smoothly and you and Dan were safe in the process. I love seeing how you are raising this young boy to be a responsible well learned cowboy. Nice video, thanks for sharing.
What a great way to live life! Wonderful to see young cowboy Dan develop into the the man he's bound to be.Like father, like son. Before we blink......Awesome! Thank you so much for sharing.G-d bless you.
Our 11 year old son noticed y'all have a horse named Toy Story, so he thought you could name this new one Jesse after the cowgirl on Toy Story. We sure love watching your videos together. Keep em coming and keep up the good work.
Your new filly is "Willing". She hesitated going down that draw, but became Willing when you asked her. A name, and a compliment is a nice beginning. Dan is def the Man! 2 thoughts: * Throw a can of WD-40 in your pack whenever you're out, and * Were you & Dan wearing seatbelts in the truck? I know you were traveling a short distance, it's just a Mom thing. I had to ask. If I'm mistaken I apologize. What a beautiful life you have, in amazing country. These are your best years, while your children are growing up. Enjoy them - time moves swiftly.
I always wanted a horse named Harley. I once purchased a horse from a man and asked, "What's his name?" He replied "Scooter". I said not any more, now it's Harley!
Did you say your new horse is a filly ? How about naming her JAZZ. I think she’s did very good for just green. She just needs some ground work where you two can connect and she learns what you mean when you ask certain things and she will build her trust.
Did they tear up your fence getting to the cows? The grey seems nice, awfully small, but once she builds up her trust in you and her confidence in herself in new situations she'll probably make a horse for one of your young cowhands there for sure. For names I usually just call them some part of their registered name, I stink at picking animal names, I only have one that I don't call by some part of his registered name and that is because his breeder gave him his barn name and I never changed it as I like it better than any part of his registered name. Also did you build those rod and pipe corrals? Whoever built them did a real nice job.
The reasons we keep them separate: 1) cows will be calving soon and bulls can get to fighting and wipe out baby calves 2) bulls have different nutritional demands than lactating or 3rd trimester cows 3) a cow or two may have lost their pregnancy resulting in early cycling, we do not want her getting ridden into the ground by a bunch of bulls 4) as the spring goes on it will be harder and harder to get the bulls out of the cow herd, and cows can begin to cycle quickly after giving birth, we do not want cows getting bred to early and calving in harsh weather next year. Hope this help thanks for watching
Impressive...that Dan of yours!!! Maybe grey's name could be "Hope". I had a horse I thought was going to be a little one, she's 6" taller than her mom and sire🤦♀ and gave her l little name...ugh
Does she know her name? At least stick with an “S” name: Sally; Sugar, I kinda liked that chicken color name - was it Splash? Or Ashley. She’s very pretty. Gracie - cause she’s gray.
A job well done. No hand or horse was injured and quality time spent working. Thanks for sharing sir!
Very interesting. Bulls were pretty compliant. Your top hand there has a wonderful mounting strategy!

Glad ta see you keep your boy involved. He's great!

Awesome to see you and Dan working alongside each other. He will be trained very well. Great video.
Thanks 👍

Tough to find good help these days, but you sure did! That filly looks like shes got some good cow sense.
What a great way to live life!

Yes!!! Someone getting the gate. Is REALLY GREAT !!!!
Willow for new name.. I think would fit perfectly, cause her coat looks silver like the leaves on willow tree turns in the fall
You should call her Smoke. She has that kinda color to her.
Good job dad, ❤FINS UP ❤
Put some grease on that gate lol
Desert orchid as a name for the new hoss. Famous English race horse of that name in grey. Best wishes to you and you're family.

Sierra would be a good name

That video was a lot of bull! 😂
How is the filly bred? She is going to be great for calving. Just the right size for tagging calves.

Georgia. Like Ray Charles song “Georgia on my mind”
Lucy!
Sky because she doesn't want to go down, but only up.
I think a good name for that new horse should be Phillis or Philly for short
Oh now thats funny! Good one… i may just use that!
Chassie, I like for her name 😊
Ooh thats a good one…
Name the new horse baby
She's looking like a Zella or Gracie
Herd the bulls with some cows it would be way easier , good joe and good new horse she needs work and practice . You can make her the way you want
Shortie Shelby
Lol good one
Grease or wd40 would be nice..enjoyed the video
Her name should be Beag (pronounced Bick) which is the Irish word for small. Something different.

They knocked a gate open in our corral… she is going to be great I think, very gentle and willing
We had those corrals built for us about 20 years ago
Jewel, Wyoming Jade, or Meadowlark
All good ones thanks!
Greycee
Name: Shasta
How about Splash....in the chicken world, her coloring would almost be considered "splash"... but her personality made me think of "Jubilee".
I like it
Will there just be too many babies if you let the bulls stay in with the cows?

I say name her Josey
Willow or Shadow?
Shadow cuz of her color I like
Both good choices
